I spent 3 years in Germany and this place is perfect for satisfying your German food cravings. A nice selection of German beers, something like 20-30 beers. The jager schnitzel and currywurst were amazing. They also have home made cakes and deserts that are insanely tasty! My opinion is based on having lived/having tried German food at the ff places - Hofbrauhausen Regensburg Germany Alpine Village Los Angeles, Bavarian Grill Plano Texas I travel for work and this is my first time in Lawton. I stayed at cluster of hotels with a Cracker Barrel within skipping distance but I ditched CB for Mutti's. What a novelty to find a German restaurant! I, literally, rushed out of the hotel so I would have more time to dine and enjoy my beer. Mutti's does have the music and ambiance of German Hofbrauhausen alright. I ordered my favorite Hefe to enjoy with goulash and jaeger schnitzel. Of course, Franziskaner is always good. Soup was meh. The swine was meh (but with Maggi Seasoning, it's a winner!). About 45 mins into my meal however, two waitresses really got into it with each other (while restaurant patrons watched in awkward horror) Having to listen to the stegosaurus defend itself from the t-rex made my stomach churn & run to the herren toilette. So I didn't get to try the potato salad. Will I return? Why yes! Perhaps they'll have a squared circle for their waitresses and Mario Yamasaki working full time. read more

Don't get the location and building scares you away. I had to convinced my people when we pulled into the lot that I'm serious about this place and we are going in. And it didn't help when we were the first ones here for lunch at the time . But as we ate, more people came in. We were immediately greeted by the staffs when we walked in. The place is so homey with German music in the background. The place is deck out with antiques such as steins everywhere. The first thing that our server (a very outspoken German lady) said "Honey, you can take your jacket off its warm in here." I was like yes ma'am. I really like her spirit and when she brought us our food she said "Here you go kids." So it felt like we were eating at someone's grandma kitchen haha. Two of us got the jager schnitzel with spaetzle and the other guy got a ziguener schnitzel with the same side. The entrees also came with salad and bread. The side salad consisted of cold lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and green beans. I didn't like the salad all due to the vinaigrette. I think it was just vinegar and water. So it was very flavorless. The portion of the schnitzel was big compares to other German places in OKC. It was hot and crispy, but I didn't like it that much since it had a slightly hidden "sour" taste to it. The spaetzle was probably my least favorite. It was very bland since it was just dumplings itself so I'm glad I got the jager schnitzel. Since they pour the mushroom gravy over the spaetzle, which adds a bit of flavor to it, but it still wasn't enough. For the gravy, I'm not so sure that it's made from scratch since it tasted like it was made from a mix. Also, if I come back I probably get the German potato salad as a side next time. Overall, we had a good food experience here, its just the food is a bit bland. Anyway once your done you pay at the register, old fashioned style. read more

My cousin and his wife took me for my birthday this year! If you go, order dessert first, they go fast. You won't be disappointed. I adore this place. The women who run this place are well spoken and don't mince their words, we get a kick out of them every time we go in. They know us by name and what we generally like to order. They always go out of their way to talk to and joke around with my two young kids, which my kids love and I enjoy, as most places ignore my kids or act like they are a nuisance (trust me, I pick up after them, I'm a former waitress). I always get the grill teller, although the rouladen with potato dumplings is my all time favorite from them. The pretzels and beer battered brats are delicious. We always get a huge order of the cheese and bacon spaetzle that we share. It's always the perfect combination of crispy and chewy. My favorite parts of the grill teller plate I like to get is the leberkase, the schnitzel is also delicious and great with a side of gravy. My husband loves the spicy paprika gravy with his schnitzel (zeigeuner schnitzel), while my mom loves the cordon bleu. My kids love the beer battered fries and mini corn dogs which have a nice little bit of sweet flavor to them. The red cabbage is to die for, I love both of the potatoes, but the potato salad is my favorite. The salad is different and nice, a nice little bit of pickled veggies. Yes there is a lot of liquid, but it coats the veggies well for flavor in each bite, which I enjoy. My kids love to go pick from the desert fridge. My favorite is the tiramisu and mandarin cake, my daughter loves the Black Forest cake, but I haven't had a single one I haven't liked yet. I've been here countless times over the last four years of living in Lawton and I'm never disappointed. In fact, I feel like they get better and better in their craft with each time we visit. We came in after being told about it by our son. The place looks like an old BPO Elks or Legion Hall, but inside they try to get the atmosphere of a German Wirtshaus. There is German music (Schlager) playing, banners hung through out proclaiming "Oktoberfest", and the normal array of beer mugs (Steine) throughout. For dinner, my wife ordered the "special" (Rouladen, Rotkohl und Kartoffelklöse) a beef roll, filled with bacon, onions and mustard, which is baked in a sauce in the oven. This came with red cabbage, and a potato dumpling. She ordered sauerkraut as well. I ordered the Grill Teller sampler, which comes with such an array of items, it is difficult to begin to list them all! The food was good, though not great. The red cabbage didn't seem to be seasoned very well/tasted like it was from a can. The sauerkraut was ok as well, though not seasoned like I am accustomed to. The rouladen was wonderful, as were the potato dumplings. The items on the sampler were good as well, the only two items I found great though were the leberkase (liver cheese) and the bratkartoffel (fried potatoes). For desert, my wife had the fruit/cheese cake (Kasesahnetorte), and I had the Hasel nut cake. Both were ok, though not superb as I was hoping. Over all, the experience was nice. It was comforting hearing people speak a dialect from a place I called home for so many years. read more

I'm not one to post a bad review, but I felt so misled by the 4.5 stars this place has. If you've ever been to Germany or Austria & had authentic cuisine, skip this place. It started out with a weird salad that would have been good if canned boiled green beans hadn't been poured on top. I had the sample platter & was so grossed out by they selection of basically boiled hot dogs & what looked like a big slice of spam that I left most of my plate untouched. The weiswurst was the best part until I bit into a piece of bone. The schnitzel (breaded pounded pork) with spaetzle my fiancé had was okay but pretty flavorless. The sauerkraut was great but that doesn't make a meal. Overall, I'd give it a pass. Maybe it's good for Lawton standards. read more

This was my first visit to a German restaurant. My husband wanted to visit here but the location scared me and I always made excuses for not wanting to try it. I was amazed that the food was so good, I was turned off by the salad though. I'm not use to seeing cold green beans, cucumbers, and shredded lettuce in the same bowl as a vinegarette based dressing. We were in Lawton for a few days and discovered Mutti's. It's a true, authentic German restaurant and the food is delicious. The cheese spaetzle is the stuff dreams are made of. I'm so glad I came here during my work trip to Lawton! I will certainly be back, hopefully when I'm being less strict on my diet. There isn't much here you can have when you're trying to be healthy, but hey, a girl's gotta live every once in a while. I immediately ruled out all of the sausages and decided to go with the Cordon Bleu. I know this isn't much healthier, but in my mind it felt like it was. I've typically only had Cordon Bleu from a frozen version from Sam's, so this really blew it out of the park! You can really tell how everything is homemade and fresh. My meal came with one side and a salad, and they brought fresh rolls out first. The roll was nice and big, just wish it had been warmed. The salad was unique with lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes and green beans. I have no idea what kind of dressing it had, but I totally could've had a bigger version of it as a meal. I chose the sauerkraut as my side even though it does not go with Cordon Bleu whatsoever. I just love sauerkraut and had to try it. The spaetzle would've definitely been a better pairing, but I couldn't not have sauerkraut at a German restaurant. My boss had the Grill Teller sampler, which basically includes everything on the menu. It's A LOT of food. He pretty well finished it, so I know it had to all be good. The dessert case was really tempting as well, but I resisted. Next time I'll have to try the black forest cake though! The restaurant was understaffed while we were there. The could've used one more person for sure, but they managed to still give pretty good service. Our food didn't take too long either. If you like German food or are wanting to try something different, you will not be disappointed here! read more

Decided to come in here last weekend & just to summarize this whole review, 100% worth it. I have never had German food before growing up on the West Coast & this place did not disappoint! From the outside it is difficult to tell it is a restaurant but once you walk inside it is pretty spacious. They have you seat yourself & bring out a pretty different/but delicious in it own way salad. They also bring you bread before your meal. All the waitresses we had were great. They knew how to pair the beer very well with our food & they had great suggestions. My husband and I split the platter for two for about 24 bucks. Really REALLY good deal. It comes with potatoes, and I mean a LOT of potatoes. It also comes with a lot of meat which I LOVE. Two different types of Sausages ( I know they are called something else on the menu but I cant think of it off the top of my head) Then it comes with Two freshly fried Schnitzel ( or however you spell it) absolutely Worth Every Bite. It was sooooooo good my husband and I tried to eat it all before we took home to go boxes because we did not want to waste it. Lastly, it also came with a couple slices of meat which the best way I can describe it is a version of "spam's" cousin? That is honestly what it tasted like. I love spam, I grew up on it and this last piece of meat brought me back to my childhood. The whole plate has Potatoes under it. They have what tastes like a potato salad under the Schnitzel, and regular stove cooked crispy potatoes underneath the rest of the meats. The top of the plate has a small bowl which holds the sauerkraut & pickled radishes goes well with everything on the platter. My husband & I will DEFINITELY be back here soon. read more
