Looking from the outside but it wasn't, this place is a hidden gem a mom and pops restaurant. the food was delicious little on the salty side but was a decent meal, had the carne asada meal with some rice and beans... spanish rice was a little bit sticky (wet) I'm used to the rice that separate other then that this place is legit. This place is fantastic ! Really a hidden gem in Lawton. We went for the lunch special and everything we had was great. For the price I recommend the fajitas but the other things we tried were good too. What I like as well is the decorations as well. Have never had a bad experience at Panchitos. The food and service is always great. You can tell they are family owned and use family recipes. The white queso is the best in Lawton, not watered down like other places. The drinks are always great and love that they have happy hour. I had the spicy mango daiquiri tonight. This restaurant used to be an Italian restaurant, which was pretty good. Of course not the same owners. I love Mexican food so I wanted to try this place. I ordered the Fajitas platter, it comes with rice, beans, sour cream, guac, and pico de gallo. Yes, I got free chips and salsa. At first I was excited when the food arrived. Everything was hot to include the flour tortillas. Immediately I could see there was some skimping going on: the ice tea was weak; the flower tortillas were small and paper thin; the beef was not the usual fajita cut; the guac was cut with something and they only gave me a tablespoon; the pico de gallo tasted and smelled slightly spoiled as did the lettuce; and the sour cream was just ok and only a tablespoon. But considering a side of sour cream costs $1.99, I wasn't even going to try. They really skimped on the rice and beans. In my 40 years of experience eating at Mexican restaurants I've never been this disappointed. What I love about eating at Mexican restaurants is how generous they are most of the time. By and large you get free chips and salsa and sometimes other types of dips and free tortillas that are thick and fluffy and delicious. You might even get a free sopapilla at the end. I've never had tea this weak or tortillas this thin at a Mexican restaurant. Here at Panchito's they gave me what seemed like a tablespoon of beans and rice and I'm not exaggerating. Again, in my experience at other restaurants I've gotten way more for less money. The worst part of the meal was the spoiled taste and smell of the lettuce, pico de gallo, and guac combination. I do not know the root cause of the spoiled taste and smell I just know that it was there. I wanted to send it back but I didn't want them to think I was trying to get out of paying the check. So, I elected to just finish, pay and leave. My pet peeves are spoiled lettuce and skimping. If I go back it will be to try the enchiladas platter. However, having had such a disappointing experience on this occasion, I just don't feel motivated to do so or even take the chance. I hope your experience is better than mine and it could very well be. Things like this change on a daily basis but for me it's the skimping nature on things that puts the bad taste in my mouth, not to mention the spoiled lettuce. I mean saving 50 cents on food costs on a meal like I just had amounts to exactly nothing at the end of the month. I'll bet they throw away more food at the end of the night than what I got served on this occasion. That was the beauty of eating at a Mexican restaurant. Not only is the food great but you never felt cheated or skimped on because beans and rice are cheap; Tea bags are cheap; Flour is cheap; Lettuce, tomatoes, and onions are cheap. Thus, for me, I choose to avoid patronizing places that not only seem to skimp on everything but can't really make the food taste as well as it should. read more

I was table 12 at 4:30pm. Ordered the Chili Relleno plate it was cold in the middle as if it taken from the freezer and had about 1/4 in of batter that was greasy. Wife ordered theQuesabirrias way to greasy. Server never came back to table to see if everything was alright. We both had empty glasses of our drinks. Never was offered a refill. The Server handled money and never washed hands before serving food to other customers.
