My first visit was an orientation to the reformer, it had been a few years since I had practiced Pilates, thankful for her patience and guidance and disciplined attention to my needs. I look forward to coming back.

Wow - unexpected 12 on a 10 scale experience. Perry is such an AMAZING human…read more I initially had no interest in taking a Pilates class. I came off of an injured knee that took over a year to heal and being currently overweight and not having maintained any sort of normal exercise, I was super hesitant, but Perry said I should give it a try. She is absolutely wonderful. I've taken two private trainings with her ... for the first 20-30 minutes or so we talk through body mechanics and some extremely helpful foundational health-related items (that helped me to understand my body better and why I was feeling unbalanced and not capable of the type of movement that Pilates requires). It's actually just so incredible how many muscles we have that we don't actually use and that we should be using... We took it slow with the different movements (and use of the equipment) and I can honestly say that I would rate my time with her a 12 on a 10 scale. I never expected to walk away from these classes thinking "wow I can't wait to go back" but I have totally felt that way. Call Perry and start your new "exercise life" today!! You'll be so glad you did - she makes it soo easy to love Pilates.

I went here for the first time last night to try the women's kickboxing class…read more This place is mainly a martial arts center with lots of classes for kids, but they have some selections for adults. The first class was free. I heard it was about $60 a month for unlimited classes. The inside is kind of grubby. I kept thinking about how they should repaint their ceiling, redecorate, and give everything a once over with Simple Green while I was doing sit-ups. The class was pretty full and had a wide range of ages and fitness levels in attendance so it wasn't as intimidating as I thought kickboxing would be. The people and instructors were nice. Really loud club music plays in the background on a sub-par sound system during the "toning" portion of the class that includes stretches and lunges and sit-ups and whatnot. The instructor was sort of drowned out by the music so I had trouble hearing what she said. No one seemed to be in sync either so I got the feeling that form wasn't a real priority. Or maybe everyone else had trouble hearing the instructor, too? The kickboxing portion of the class involves finding a partner and switching off kicking and punching pads, but I heard that they switch it up a lot so a different day might have a totally different feel.

I started here about a month ago with my good friend. I absolutley LOVE this class (women's…read morekickboxing.) The class is pretty laid back when you first start, there are varying levels, weights, and ages (above 13.) When I started the instructors do not push you too hard, form is not that important as long as you are doing your best. After about the first week however they get to know you and push you where you need it. Every class is different, and always fun. I would reccomend the morning classes as they are a lot less busy, and it jump-starts your whole day. I love this class and would suggest it to anyone.
