The gym was a very nice gym. It wasn't too crowded and had a lot machines to workout on. You have your cardio machines and free weights and much more. If you staying at the hotel next door. I highly recommend coming here because the hotel gym isn't the best. If you want a good workout then come to this gym. The staff were really nice and loved how they make shakes at the shake bar they have. Each staff member had a smile and looked like they wanted to be there. At the shake bar, You can get a shake for only 8 bucks I believe. It wasn't expensive at all. The place is cleanish if that makes sense. It's a gym so it's hard to fully clean the gym. The lockerroom and bathroom was very clean. I felt really safe at the gym and comfortable. It was really nice to have an atmosphere like that while you are working out. All equipment was very well kept up in maintenance and didn't feel old and run down like some gyms are. I was really happy about that. Overall, I give them a 4.4 out of 5 because there isn't really any accessories in the gym like hot tube etc but highly recommend them to have a good workout.

I love this gym for what it is, a community based organization that provides many services to…read morelocals and summer residents. I don't expect it to have lots of amenities as it's a YMCA. But 1. To discuss is the view. I don't know of any other gyms anywhere that you can be on the treadmill and look at a harbor and boats moving in and out. It makes your workout so much more motivating and relaxed! You can also see the Rockland breakwater. Other things to love: -it's not crowded. At all. There are several elderly people who come in each morning to also workout and they give me such motivation also. The Rockport YMCA is a bit more of a scene and mostly younger people (under 40-50, my scale is high because it's Maine!). -it never smells like a gym. Not sure how they do that. -easy parking and very easy to walk to downtown Rockland from the y Cons -not as many classes as the Rockport YMCA. However, this means that the classroom space is usually available if you want a quiet place to do weights. To sum up, if I am doing my own workout, I go to the Rockland YMCA. If I want to do classes, I go to the Rockport YMCA. The Rockland y is such a gem and I'm so thankful it's in our community.

They have great air conditioning and the cardio area is on the second floor, overlooking a creek. I've never had to wait for a machine, I usually go around 10am. The facilities are very clean and well maintained. You are allowed to use the group exercise rooms when a class isn't in session, where you will have lots of room to stretch (there isn't much room for that in the fitness area). Membership is also less expensive than in other areas of Maine. It's amazing to watch all the activity happening here, it's a great resource to the Waterville community.

The cardio room is quiet and simple, but you can plug in your earpods or just turn on the tv for music or whatever, let the fan blow right on you and go for it. Stairs, elliptical and treadmills. all there and ready for you in a quiet awesome setting. I don't know about you, but when I am here, there is hardly anyone else here. It is like a private gym. I had a power outage this winter and just had to take a shower. I had my key to the gym and on Christmas Day, I had access and took a quick but welcome shower. What a BLESSING. This place is amazing.
