Like others have already mentioned, the place, although esthetically pleasing: 1) noise is a big…read moreproblem, fire alarms in the apartments go off constantly and as communicated by the maintenance folks and PG fire department is an issue with the wiring, so maintenance folks just disconnect the smoke detectors; 2) security is another big issue, folks come in and out without using the fobs, so they leave the "doggy area" door propped open with sticks or rocks; 3) although there is no smoking aloud inside the building, to include candles, the smell of cannabis is unavoidable through the hallways and elevators, to include the garage area; 4) no internet or phone signal in the parking garage or in the north side of the property, making it very sketchy when parking in the garage for those of us that work irregular shifts and come in at night; 5) not sure what the occupancy policy is, but in some apartments (which based on the Aspen floor plans) are studio apartments with 4 adults apparently living in the unit; 6). the rent cost, and the issues mentioned above, just to name a few, it is not worth it if want security and a place to call home when not at the office.

Overall, the space is well designed and allows for a lot of flexibility in terms of set up. The parking in the front of the building appears to be for zone 1 Hyattsville residents only during the week, however, there was a side street or two that was not restricted. The space seems like a good flexible use space overall and I would consider using it for an intimate event myself.

Green areas are becoming better but the grass and trees are often leave unattended for multiple weeks. Managment changes contract rules like nothing so they can start charging more. Service fee is a good example of it, it's just a dollar but they don't explain what is for. Trash service fee, this is a new one. 18 dlls which we were not used to be charged and with previous management we didn't have any sort of trash recollection problems that now days we see. Shortage of Maintenace personal. I think as of today 5/7/2024 there is only a couple of maintain ace folks, nothing to complain on them, really polite and efficient folks, but you can tell they are under lots of stress due the lack of more personal The lease agreement does not cover any incidents on the unites so you have to get insurance in advance, basically management doesn't want to hold accountable for nothing, if you lack such insurance, you will be charged 25 monthly. Ah yes and almost forgot, parking is a special thing here, you can't own two cars and want to park both on the property even when there is plenty of parking spots available, this is management policy to only allow one car per resident, you might consider making an owner change on your cars to your partner. Giving 4 stars because it states in description you live in "lap of Luxury" however it does not necessarily have any upgrades comparable to other luxury apartments , it has carpet, laminate floors, laminate countertops, kitchen and bathroom cabinets have no hardware, and very basic appliances. It is very nice and I enjoy living here but saying it is a luxury style apartment is a bit of a stretch.

I have lived here for 9 months now. I was one of the first residents when they opened…read more The problem I have that has gone unaddressed for months is that the handles on the gates for the dog run have consistently been falling off and sometimes are not even there. I have a service dog and chose the sixth floor for the convenience of the dog run on this floor. I cannot express enough how horrible it is to have your dog needing to go out to the bathroom only to not be able to open the gate. I have a disability and it is extremely uncomfortable for me to have to go all the way down to the elevators, to the lobby floor and outside of the building to take care of my dog. To make matters worse, the maintenance guy has been aware of this issue for months and has been completely unprofessional, rude, and just plain lazy in remedying the problem. We pay over $3,000 a month to live here. The maintenance staff either need to be replaced or retrained on customer service. Never have I been met with such unprofessionalism, especially when we pay a premium and this is our home. There are other issues here, like the inability to access other floors of the building to visit with friends and the impracticability of having to meet on a common floor just to be let up to your friend's floor when you could simply go to their floor. We have high standards of living and had hoped Aster would live up to them. Sadly, that has not been the case. The only reason for two stars is that our unit is beautiful and concierge is wonderful and accommodating. Aster, do better please. We will not be renewing.
