Before the move, Barry told me the crew would remove and dispose of the furniture we didn't want at no additional charge. However, when the crew arrived, they initially refused to take the furniture and later tried to charge me to move those unwanted items. What made the experience even worse was the customer service. After the move was completed, the owner, Marcus, called me and went on a profanity laden tirade even though I had not spoken with him at all during the moving process. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, I felt I was treated with disrespect and hostility. Overall, the poor communication, attempting to not honor what was promised, rushed work, and unprofessional customer service made this an extremely negative experience. The major problem with the full service movers was the loading and unloading personnel, so we hired some very well rated services on both ends. Selecting a loading service with experience in packing trailers (ideally ABF/U-pack trailers) is critical to insure your valuables aren't bouncing all over the truck. Long story short; U-packs communication and process was excellent. Our items arrived on schedule and undamaged. Moving is no fun and I never want to do it again, but if I had to, I wouldn't hesitate to use U-Pack again.

I asked the man kindly to move his truck to the other side of the road or to park in front of the house he was working for and he told me he would "in a few" I then explained that I had to go to work soon and would not be able to leave if he put the truck back where it was. He told me " just come grab me." I told him I did not feel it was my responsibility to come get him to move the truck when he was not parked on the right side to begin with. He said he could park where he wanted and continued back into my neighbors house. I ended up having to call the police to get him to move the truck at all and he only moved it because he knew he was wrong. He also had no cones out warning cars of the truck, until I called. He still parked in front of my drive way but left my anointing neighbors driveway open just enough for me to fit. The point is I shouldn't have even had to call them in the first place I asked him multiple times to please move his truck before I called the police and asked the neighbors to request they move it as well. He was one of three estimates and clearly stood out among the others. The day of the move, two young men from his company along with a driver from United Vanlines handled the move. They were nice, clean and professional men. They were careful with our things, helpful with my questions and inventoried and secured everything. It's the day of my move from Illinois to Texas and at the time I'm writing I won't receive my stuff for about 6 days but I'm very pleased with Hutchcraft on this end of the move. Last but not least, thankful for Julie at their office. She put up with several changes and questions on my end and always was very sweet!
