As I was picking her up, the teacher offered to change her but I kindly declined since we were going home anyway. When we got home, I changed her but realized she was in the same pull-up from when I dropped her off this morning! When I contacted Stephanie, the director, she reassured me that she was changed twice that day and used her old diapers she had lingering over there. 1- she just started using pull-ups and 2- we always brought diapers there and I packed diapers. I am disappointed that they lied to me! If you have to deal with anyone there, talk with Melanie, she's always professional and honest with you!

The children are about the only good thing about this place. The owner (Robyn) shows constant favoritism to her own daughter (Angel) that works here, her sister (Ladonna), and the few employees that she likes/ that have worked there for years. Her daughter (Angel) who is not even qualified to work here is allowed to do the bare minimum(causing other classrooms to go without and other people to do her job), runs personal errands on the clock, she watches her own child on the clock(other employees have also had to help watch her daughter while working), she does her own personal school work on the clock, sits in the office doing personal tasks rather than working, leaves for longer periods of time than her allotted break times, shows up late, "isn't allowed to be in the bathroom for too long because she forgets what shes doing/ where she is" (Robyns own words), wears whatever she wants while the rest of us follow a dress code. Other employees are expected to pick up Angel's slack and not say anything about it, yet Robyn has fired other people on the spot for the same thing. Ladonna the cook does not follow food safety policies, consistently leaves food uncovered in the fridge after cooking it, freezes, de-thaws, and re-freezes food. Claims things on the menu are homemade but in reality they are pre-made items. Uses the microwave to cook 90% of the food, walks around the center with the same gloves on that shes uses to prepare the food. Has served expired food as well as raw food on multiple occasions. Does not provide enough food for the kids to have a full portion or second helpings. Shows up late and leaves early almost every single day, and complains about doing her job constantly. Robyn will consistently brag about how much money she has and all the things she buys/ trips she goes on but wont give her employees raises or incentives to stay or offer healthcare benefits or any benefits really. If you are sick or have to call out she will shame you for it and show no sympathy or understanding, but allows her own daughter to call out whenever she feels like it. Will allow her favorite employees to accrue PTO but would cash out my PTO on almost every single paycheck to the point I had negative PTO hours. Robyn will make a set of rules for one classroom but certain people are exempt from those rules. She does not accommodate children that show signs of being on the spectrum or that may have a disability instead she will just kick them out of the center. Working here took a huge toll on my mental health, despite working extremely hard day after day I was never shown any gratitude or appreciation instead I was treated as the "less than" employee because I was simply not a part of her favorites. Even though I was considered a "lead teacher" I was not allowed to make any decisions about the classroom I worked in, had my ideas turned down, and was not recognized as a good employee ever. Robyn is an extremely greedy, selfish and unappreciative employer and expects this job to be your only priority when this business is not her priority in the slightest. She is the worst manager I have ever encountered in my entire life. I will sincerely miss the children I cared for but I will not miss working here, and do not recommend this place for employment at all for anyone.

My friend's daughter was almost TOO prepared for Kindergarten after attending ABCD. (She was bored in Kindergarten because she was RE-learning things that she had already been taught at ABCD preschool.) As far as safety goes, a great deal of our local law enforcement use this preschool for their children and they patrol the neighborhood often- I've seen them myself! PS. Don't park the wrong way on the streets, You WILL be ticketed. My grade for this establishment= A. (The only reason I didn't give them an A+ is because they do shuffle the kids back and forth between different classrooms/teachers a fair amount. My child doesn't LOVE this aspect, but it's probably good for her anyway. Consistency is good- but it's also important to teach kids to deal with change.) My suggestion: Schedule a visit and see for yourself.

No- not biting, hitting, any other behaviors you would expect would get your kid kicked out. Most frustrating is that there were never any formal meetings to even discuss the possibility that if these things weren't fixed, we'd be kicked out. We didn't see it coming and had to scramble to find new childcare. The behaviors she exhibited are normal 3-year-old behaviors that might take some kids longer than others to work through. I feel the staff is either stretched too thin or doesn't have the patience or energy needed to work with little learners of all levels. We felt extremely blind-sighted by this decision and heart-broken for our kids who now have to start somewhere else, leave their friends and learn new routines. It was already hard enough leaving our only kids in the hands of someone else, and now I'm facing a ton of anxiety all over again hoping this doesn't happen to us again and our kids won't be given up on as easily as Meadow Wood gave up on them. Before this happened, I did appreciate many things about this daycare. The Brightwheel app is convenient and they update you/post pictures of your kids throughout the day. During summer there were a lot of extra activities like field trips and a magic show. Some of the teachers were really nice to us (we saw some be pretty snippy with the kids at times though). We always knew about injuries via an incident report. Payment was easy. Lots for littles to do and different enrichment activities that matched the seasons. Open at 6:00AM for parents who need to get to work early. However, unless your kids are really good at sitting still, following routines, and don't cause a lot of problems for the staff in general, they might tell you to find somewhere else better suited to your child's needs and that they can't offer the 1:1 that your child needs because they have a lot of kids to watch already.

I really love their values and that they follow a Montessori-based curriculum. You can tell they put a lot of effort into helping the kids learn through play and independence. My daughter has grown so much since starting there, and she's always excited to go each day. My daughter also has an NG feeding tube, and the whole team has been absolutely amazing about it. They were so accommodating, understanding, and willing to work with me to make sure she's safe and comfortable at all times. It's so obvious that everyone there genuinely loves what they do and cares deeply about each child. Communication is great, they're super easy to work with, and I honestly couldn't ask for a better daycare. We're so thankful to have found them!

I randomly came upon The Cottage one day while driving, I stopped in and was greeted by Dana, the then owner, she was more than happy to give me a tour and introduce me to the teachers each of my children would have. I was instantly in love with the place, it is a school atmosphere, they don't just stick 20 kids in a room and let them go buckwild. Since then The Cottage has been taken over by new owners, Elle and Dustin, who are amazing and very diligent in dealing with any needs or concerns you have. The school has been recently renamed to The Cottage Education and Learning Acadamy, because it is more than just a daycare. Each class has curriculum type schedules, which include Science and Spanish, and parents are always informed of what is being worked on that particular week to keep it going at home. The teachers are amazing and always have the child's best interest at heart. If you are looking for the best school in the area, The Cottage is worth your time to stop and tour. Of course it costs a little more than your average day care, but isn't that the point, it isn't your average daycare! Children remember and learn the most in their youngest years and will carry their experiences with them forever, why not give them the best you can and you will find that at The Cottage!
