Found this place because I googled "baby gymnastics", after attending an actual baby gymnastics class in Glenview, I assumed this would be the same thing but closer to home. This wasn't gymnastics at all, more like an indoor playground. They have a bunch of random swings, tents and balls. It just all seemed a little cheap and dirty. Like going to a yard sale, buying up cheap plastic play things and hoping to entertain kids with it. There was also a lot of "independent play" so it just seemed like a lot of wasted time and kind of boring on the parent's perspective. The other (real gymnastics class) we went to seemed a lot more structured and the time went by so fast but with this class I felt the clock stopped and we couldn't wait to get out of there. With all that being said, that was our own personal experience, maybe if someone has an older kid, or a class has multiple kids it's a fun place to let them loose, but for us with our 7 month old it was just not the right fit or what we expected. On another positive note the two girls teaching the class were super friendly, nice, and tried to be as engaging with what they had to work with. I'd say this class isn't for really small babies, maybe best for older kids on a rainy day when they can't go to a playground. read more

We love my gym as the set up is different each time that we attend! The open play hours are a great way to release some energy on yucky days, and the special events that are appropriately themed based on the time of the year are always a huge win! For such a basic set up, my 2.5 year old never wants to leave. We had the most amazing experience with MyGym Buffalo Grove We just hosted our three year olds birthday party there and it was beyond amazing. From the moment I put down the deposit, there was fantastic communication from the staff to ensure our party was a success. I was contacted 2 weeks before to confirm everything we needed and wanted for the party. Tyler and Josie were amazing from the minute they let us into the gym. They took our snacks and cupcakes out of our hands and handled every single detail. As parents, this was the best situation, show up and enjoy the time, never having to worry about setting up or cleaning up. As for the kids, they had so many activities set up to keep the party together while also allowing the kids to explore with free play. Our guests were crying because they had to leave. I am going to review the actual classes they offer as well as their birthday party setup. My Gym has a great program for my just turned 4-year old. They have structured programs which help develop basic skills in balance. Each child in the class has a different skill level, but the instructors always take that into consideration. They help the children that need it (for example, holding their hands when crossing a balance beam) and let more advanced children go on their own. The instructors are great. My child loves them and cannot stop talking about them when we are at home. My child loved the classes so much, we decided to let My Gym host her 4th birthday party. I could not believe how well it turned out! We barely had to lift a finger. Kyle and Stephanie were hosting the party and us parents got to sit back and relax. The party starts out with the kids playing for a little bit and then Kyle and Stephanie run a structured class for the children. The kids loved it, the parents loved it, and most importantly the birthday girl had an amazing time. The staff also makes sure that activities are centered around birthday girl. I have a 10 min max drive rule (maybe 15 for something really special) when it comes to kid classes so we won't be signing up for My Gym in Buffalo Grove, but my almost 3 year old recently attended a bday party here and had fun. As far as bday parties go they make it easy here (at least appeared that way). We let all the little ones loose for an hour in the gym and they had a blast jumping, climbing, throwing, etc I probably appreciated the staff here more than most since leading gymnastics bday parties was my high school job and the staff here put my high school self to shame. At one point my son was crying from a fall and one the guys who works here had him smiling again in no time (with the old "the dinosaur on your shirt is pretending to bite my finger" trick). After an hour we made it into the party room. Pretty small, but fine for the less than 30 min it took all the toddlers (and parents) to wolf down some pizza and cake. We then grabbed our my gym goody bags and balloon (holding up well a week later) and jumped into the car to head to our next bday party. Today we had my sons 4th birthday party at my gym. I always enjoyed the class here . I think Kyle that runs the place is a great guy ,very bubbly , connect with the kids on a great way. But he wasn't the one running our bday party today. And honestly is not the same think. The 2 girls there were very sweet and polite , but not very engaging . We had here my daughter's 5th birthday party and everything was perfect. I choose the Premier Celebration Package so I didn't have to do much. I didn't pay for the Theme and the decorations were enough for us. The staff was friendly and helpful since the moment we walked in to the time we left. I really like the fact that you have the whole place for yourself. I wasn't sure what to expect because of the mixed reviews in here, but we are very happy we decided to go with My Gym. I was a bit worried about having guests ranging from 2 years old to 8 years old but every single kid had fun and was very into the activities. It also was nice for the parents that were able to take a break and chat while the kids were having fun. I need to mention that my daughter doesn't take any classes here and yet she was very willing to participate and enjoy. Also, it is true that the party finishes a little bit abruptly but in some way you know it is that way before hand, that's way the invitation has a specific time on it and ultimately that's the way it works in all these places nowadays. We celebrated my daughter's 1st birthday here and due to sickness, we had a poor turnout. It was still fun, but without a lot of kids, it wasn't the same. So, Kyle, the owner, kindly offered to reschedule the party at no extra cost. I was so pleasantly surprised and touched. We rescheduled the party for a later date and had a much better turnout. The kids had a total blast. The two instructors did an amazing job with the kids and kept them all engaged with a fun mixture of free play and organized activities including a zip line, parachute, tag and of course gymnastics. Also, for both parties, Kyle was extremely warm, responsive and accommodating. I would highly recommend My Gym Buffalo Grove for classes and birthday parties! read more

As a new mom of a little boy, finding this little gym has been such a great thing for us. Our 18 month old son is enrolled in classes at this location once a week and he LOVES it! I have seen him come out of his shell and get more courageous at trying new things every week and it is so much fun to watch him grow, explore and develop more motor skills. Kyle is the owner and he is absolutely amazing with all of the kids, interacting with them, getting them to smile and participate. All other staff members I have met are great too. The gym is completely refigured each week and we have been going to weekly classes for almost 2 months and no one class has been alike, which keeps it interesting! I love the idea that he can grow with this gym and move up class levels over the years. It's also kept pretty clean, which is a huge plus! I love that there are some times for "open play" throughout the week for members so you can drop in and have them play in an unstructured way. Overall, I highly recommend this gym to any parents with young kids who are looking for brain and body building activities as well as social interactions for their kids. Another thing I like is that there is a one time membership fee, so even if we take a break and un-enroll him for a few months or even a year, we can always come back and don't have to pay that membership fee again. We have been members of My Gym for about a year. The classes are good- especially for younger ones that are building confidence and early gym skills. Our daughter made a lot of progress in the class. The personalities of the people that work at My Gym really do well with the kids. In addition, we just had her 3rd birthday party at the gym. Kyle did our party, and every single kid at that party laughed their faces off the entire time. We had a few kids at the party that were shy, and they responded so well to him. The party was fantastic. I highly recommend him to host your party. He works very hard to make everything really great! Would recommend My Gym for kids of all ages. I wish I had wrote this review earlier, because there were 2 girls assisting during my nephews birthday party, and one was great, and the other one super sucked and should not only not work here, but should not work with children! That's where one star was lost, she was so bad I almost took off 2 stars because of her, as she made it a horrible experience, however the other employee saved the star. The second star was lost for the embarrassment of ending it early and asking the adult guests to get up from the tables hold their plate with cake and stand while they ate or to throw it away!!! We were rushed for the birthday, and while we still had 30 minutes left and people were still eating their cake (adults!), one of the workers was making everyone stand up so she could clear the tables. I told her we had it rented out for another 30 minutes, and she said it would take 30 minutes to clean up the tables, sweep, and get the area ready for the next reservation. So make sure to have them notate the times on the contract that it is to start and that it ends, aka the time they would start cleaning and asking your guests to get up and hold their plate with cake mid eating. Embarrassing! The good female employee made leaving less stressful as she was kind at the end by not only being kind to a child and mounting him on the swing who was sad and crying because the rude employee said it was too late for him to get a turn on the "swing" (these kids are 3-5 years old! let him swing for 1 minute!!), but she also took pictures of the family after everyone left (we still had 10 minutes left, so that was nice that she did that as the other employee was rushing us out). Also, we paid extra for a "mickey theme", and the only thing "mickey" they provided were plates, they didn't even have mickey napkins! So defiantly DO NOT pay extra for a theme, waste of money, bring your own decorations, we wish we would have. And that is where they lost their third star :( read more

As an international professional event planner I used to celebrate parties in tons of different places but that was the first time I had to work in a place with a very difficult person who talk to me without any respect and making troubles of anything I had prepared for the event decoration. What ever happened to a letter in the mail showing a balance due??!! Emails get buried you also left a voicemail at the wrong number !! We just had our daughter's 3rd birthday party here today and I can say the kids had a blast! There was some confusion with the food that was included in our package but they found a way to correct it right away. I wish I could commend Sarah enough for being so professional and handled our situation so swiftly so we could get our food in time. She was great with the kids and played along with them the whole time. I'll definitely give it a try to bring my daughter here for a free trial. I hope that next time they'll Inform the host parent to remind the guests that the kids will be playing barefoot in the gym. One of my guests' kid went home early as she was wearing leggings with footies and there was no way she could take them off since she has no extra pants. I came here to try a class the other week and overall we had a nice time but I didn't fall in love with the place. I thought the instructor and the people working here were very friendly so they get a star for that and for having good child to teacher interaction throughout the class. I did feel that the facility looked a little worn down and the equipment was definitely on the older side so that was kind of a turn off since the classes themselves aren't cheap, I think they should take some of that money into remodeling. The class itself was 50 minutes but I didn't love the activities they were doing as they put out the swings and I felt like that was 15 minutes of the class. Nothing against that but don't kids get enough of the swings outside? I feel like they should do things that are more unique to the indoors and more importantly more unique to my gym itself. I also looked at their bday party packages which seemed competitive to other places but I don't like that they charge $75 more just to do a Saturday party versus a Sunday party. My gym, you were a fun try and I appreciate that they let you do a first free class for that very reason to see if it's a fit for you and I just didn't love it for my two little monkeys. read more

Mr. Kyle is such a great instructor! He brings so much energy to the room and my daughter loves him. I brought my daughter to My Gym when she was just under 2 years old. She has been going there for a few months now and still loves it. Every time I take her there I notice she can do something new. They learn how to climb, flip, somersault, hang, jump, and balance on all these props in the classroom. She's currently in the Gymsters class right now and I'm planning on keeping her in it for a while. It's a great way to meet other moms and children around the area. I love how you can book classes online and easily take make-up classes whenever needed. When my son gets a little bit older I'm planning on taking him to one of the classes. As of right now I just put him in my baby carrier (he's 1 years old) and he's entertained by all the kids in the class. Also want to note that the place is very clean and well kept. They change the props around the room every week so you never know what to expect. They do a great job at keeping the kids and parents interested. read more

I was contacted by the owner the next day and I really appreciate him responding to my issues in a timely manner. He explained to me why they can only honor 3 groupon sessions after the free trial class and that he would contact groupon and have that info included in the fine prints. He also told me there was a mistake by his staff telling me that I had to pay the entire enrollment fee after using the groupon passes (after their promo had ended) when infact groupon deals automatically waive enrollment fees. That's a $75 mistake there though. I'm glad that got cleared. Maybe his staff needs extra training with knowing the right prices AND treating customers professionally. read more

We love this My Gym location so much! My son takes a class with Kyle and he looks forward to it all week. We recently had his birthday party here and it was AMAZING! Morgan and Sarah were awesome and literally did everything, I didn't have to lift a finger and was just able to enjoy the special day. The kids (and parents) all loved it. We have been coming here a few days a week for a year now and our toddler twins still love it. The equipment gets moved around every week so each class is new, with different games, skills, songs and toys coming out in rotation- they even have the background music on rotation by decade! Kyle is absolutely amazing with kids and has a well trained staff that make each kid feel special too. The place is clean and safe and they have thought of just about everything to make it run smoothly. Birthday parties are packed with fun and well organized. My son really enjoys coming to my gym. I like the structure of the class and the place is clean. We love Mr Kyle and Miss Sarah, they are my favorite. We were initially doing the morning class on Wednesday which was nice but we had to switch over to the Saturday morning class because it fit our schedule. My only complaint is the Saturday morning class is way too full and busy. They need to either make that class smaller or split it in two classes... too many kids and too many adults in one area for small children. read more

I signed up for My Gym as a weekly activity for my baby, not realizing that she would learn so much and that the classes would also help her developmentally. We drove an hour and a half to go to a birthday party there. The place was very clean the owner was funny and really related to the kids. My kids are older then the birthday child and they were able to be very accommodating with not forcing them to join in with the toddler things and let it be a semi open gym and also engaged the younger children after food they allowed the kids to back and play I was really happy and give this place 5 stars read more

If I could give no stars I would. We had our free trial class scheduled a couple weeks ago for today at 11:15am. My daughter is 4 and had been so excited for days. We drive thirty minutes from home and we walk in and they inform us that their system was down last night and had no idea we were coming in. I then ask if she can just play for like ten minutes since she was so excited and we drove so far out of the way with no one calling to tell us it was cancelled. The girl says no, I'm sorry we can't do that. I'm so disappointed and I think that's a pretty unfortunate way to do business. I kind of get the system going down and things happen, but maybe keep better record keeping AND have the heart to let a little girl who is so excited to just play for ten minutes at least! I'm never going back there, and whoever asked me I'm telling them what happened. I am a military wife and these people lost a lot of good referrals today- plus my business forever. read more

We had a horrible experience for my daughters 2nd birthday at My Gym. I opted for their highest package with all the extras such as piñata and Mickey Mouse theme. Over the phone the owner was extremely nice and assured me that what's makes this place stand out from other party places is that they have a nice program for little kids. There was no program, no music...just a bunch of kids running around doing their own thing. This place has very basic equipment like mats and couple of slides so there needs to be some type of program. The girl tried to have the kids dance at one point but she was not engaging in any way so no one was really interested in listening to her. The 2 hosts- young girl and some new guy were running around disorganized the whole time. A few of our guests that have been there before had mentioned that normally when the owner is here it's a completely different experience. When we got there nothing was setup. No Mickey Mouse theme. Just Mickey Mouse plates and napkins and a balloon that was given to one of the party guests (not the 2 year old whose party it was). That's what $45 apparently covered. Not sure what's the point of doing the party there when I could have had kids running around at a park by my house the same way. All kids and adults left very disappointed. Had my son's 1st birthday party here and it was fantastic!!! The staff is amazing and the gym is clean and full of fun things for all age and ability kids. Invited kids 0-6 and everyone participated and loved it! They offer a free trial class and I was looking for something for my 3 year old.....well I found it! She looooooves it and is learning so much while building confidence and making friends. We brought my child here for a little over a year and really enjoyed it. The place was clean and the staff was great. They have since moved facilities and we took a few classes at the new place but honestly preferred the old one so between that and the drive was a bit far we decided to cancel. My 5 stars is for their willingness to work with my almost three year old who is such a sweetie but tends to be on the higher maintenance side of the personality spectrum lol. He loves to climb and jump and My Gym suits him well. Its smaller facility doesn't overwhelm him and also doesn't require parents to run blocks. The girls are so great at noticing when my son is trying to apply the rules to himself (i.e. Wait your turn) and then rewarding him for that (i.e not waiting to call on him last but somewhere in the middle). This helps me feel less anxious about him having a meltdown. The look on his face when they give him a little praise is priceless. They keep the activities new and interesting so far. I love that he gets to try new things that require listening and following more complicated instructions than just singing and dancing the hokey pokey. I haven't met Kyle yet but he was understanding when we had to cancel the day camp due to my son having a cold. He is letting us do a summer camp instead. It will be the first time I leave my son alone somewhere so it's a big deal for both of us. I should mention my husband's work schedule allows him to come with us to our Friday morning class. He loves it too! read more
