Most Crunch locations, and chain gyms in general are mediocre at best, but this one is even lower…read morequality. A significant number of machines have been consistently broken for weeks or months, including an entire line of treadmills to the left of the front desk that I don't think I've ever seen working. Patrons rarely rerack their weights, and staff never does anything to help with that. There's also the issue that this gym is VERY popular with high school boys. They travel in packs, tend to be very loud and disruptive, and will hog machines, with 5 or 6 of them alternating sets on the same machine so that it can take up to 30 minutes just for one group to finish on a machine. I know there's nothing management/owners can do about that, but it's still something to take into account when choosing a gym. The only nice thing to say about this place is that the main gym floor is usually pretty clean. The women's bathroom is hit-or-miss on cleanliness, depending on the day. And if you're looking for a cheap chain gym, there's a Planet Fitness less than a mile away on Euclid Ave, where the quality probably won't be much different but at least PF is dirt-cheap, even compared to Crunch.

Great little gym…read more Everyone has different workout routines and styles, so what you look for in a gym will be different from person to person. Here's the highlights to help you choose. It's a chain, but not a big one like XSport or Lifetime. So, if you want a big chain gym where you can travel and go to any gym this may not be for you. I know they have several locations but mostly in the Chicago Northwest suburbs. It's not very big, but they have a really good selection of machines and equipment. They don't have big locker rooms, hot tubs, pools, or exercise rooms for classes. I don't need any of that, so I'm glad they don't have it. The focus here is on working out. Even though the big gyms are probably double or triple the size of Fitness 19, they always seem so packed and you have to wait for the machine you want. Fitness 19 is good because you don't bump into people or have to wait a long time to get on the machine you want. With that said, I'll say this isn't a muscle head gym either. I used to work out at XSport, and there were always muscle heads that obviously took something to enhance their muscle growth. Good atmosphere. Everyone seems to be in a decent mood. Perhaps since it's a small gym there are a lot of people living around the area that go here. A lot of people seem to know each other and have a good time. Lastly, it's pretty reasonable for price. I believe I got started with a deal that was either $11 or $12 per month, but I paid for my year in full / advance, and got a further discount. You really can't beat the price and quality of this gym.

Could your sales staff please stop using encounters with members as a sales opportunity? Seriously?…read moreYesterday, a very tall man was in back of the bike I was using slamming a basketball to the ground and then throwing it up to the ceiling. I asked him to stop and he wouldn't; he also chose to make it a racial issue.."this isn't 2020 anymore.." So I asked a sales employee to request that he move his ball-bouncing somewhere else. His response was that he couldn't force him to do anything. I replied that I was there first and wasn't interested in getting hit in the head. When I came downstairs to talk to this employee later, here's what he wanted to know: have I ever had a functional mobility test? That felt like a slap in the face and a money grab, and I made it clear that I wouldn't be signing up for any training packages. So we went from, I don't want to get hit in the head to a functional mobility test? Please watch how you speak to senior citizens and please stop this. It's extremely insulting. Thank you.

There was no flexibility, no understanding, and no effort to accommodate the situation. Customer service felt cold and purely money-driven. Loyalty clearly doesn't matter here. I would not recommend returning if this is how members are treated.
