My 2.5-year-old attended this summer camp for the first time and was there for approximately one hour. Before pickup, I observed from outside the window that he was sitting alone crying and repeatedly calling for mommy. During the time I watched, the teachers appeared focused on activities with the other children while my son remained visibly distressed. When I picked him up, he was still crying. After we left, he repeatedly told me that he was scared of the male teacher. When I asked about camp later, he told me he did not play and spent the time crying for mommy. While I understand that toddlers may not always describe events perfectly, it was clear that his experience felt overwhelmingly negative and stressful to him. What disappointed me most was the lack of communication. No teacher proactively explained how his first day had gone, how long he had been upset, what support had been provided, or whether there were any concerns I should know about. I understand that separation anxiety is common, especially for a 2.5-year-old attending camp for the first time. I was not expecting a perfect day. However, seeing my child so distressed and receiving no meaningful feedback from staff left me concerned about the level of emotional support provided to very young children. This place was recommended to me by multiple sources. I'm so happy that we finally gave it a try because we LOVE LOVE LOVE it here! My son is 18 months old, so we decided to try the "Waddlers" class. My hopes were that he would take more interest in babies his age. Our first class the instructors were very kind and patient. They knew all of the mothers names, and all of the babies names. I could tell that this is a close-knit regular group, which says a lot. The classes are so cute. They start with an entrance song which includes a stretching and warm up, and then dancing, and then a headstand. During the class they had a bunch of agility/balance challenges for the children. They have bouts of free play in between the activities. At the end they have separation time so that the kiddos learn to feel comfortable with their independence. After that, they have surprise bubbles, and a hand puppet show. This is definitely the highlight of my sons entire day. He really enjoys coming here, as do I. I highly recommend that you come give it a try, because even after a few sessions I have noticed a difference in my son! Thank you to the instructors for being so wonderful! This review is long overdue! I started bringing my first daughter to My Gym RSM in May 2016, when she was almost 7 months old. She was an extremely active and social baby and from the beginning, she LOVED it and flourished in the classes! They have structured classes for different age groups as well as free play and fun holiday events! I have been bringing my second daughter to classes and free play since September 2020, when she was around 8 months old, and she absolutely loves it as well! We really love all the staff here, especially the owner, Kevin, who truly loves kids and has the ability to connect and engage with them in such a fun and natural way! You can tell he truly loves what he does. Mr. Bear is such a nice person as well and is always smiling and has so much positive energy and enthusiasm! Both my daughters, Faith, who is 7, and Selah, almost 3, love it here and it's so great to have a place where they can come and "just be kids!" Where do I start?! My 2 year old Harrison absolutely LOVES this gym!!!! It is the perfect combination of playtime, little fitness activities, and circle time! My son is a wild one and I feel like this is the best place for him to be to get him ready for pre K when the time comes! If you are thinking of having a party here DO IT. Best choice I have ever made. I got the deluxe package and added a theme, and I can not think of anything to have made it better. The two staff that handled our party were Rebeca and Kirsten and they were both so phenomenal. They offered to help me transport stuff to and from my car, explained the plan to me, and were so amazing with the kids. I can go on all day about how wonderful those two were. They really took stress off me by handling where the gifts go, serving people and keeping us on a schedule so we were able to do everything I wanted us to do. They were extremely engaging with all the children, they brought the children who were shy out of their shells. They also were so friendly, and welcoming I want to sign my son up for classes! All of our friends were blown away by our party and were shocked when I said all I did was fill out an online form. My sons first birthday was definitely one to remember and I'm sure this is where his party will be for the next few years! I wish I took more pictures and videos but I was having way too much fun!
