Mark is unprofessional , rude and worthless. He should be fired from LA- Lake Forest location ASAP. I will be reporting Mark to the corporate. He is always on his phone and doesn't acknowledge when you come in the gym. Today he made my experience worse. Mark didn't allow me to workout today even though the other Mexican ( nice guy ) told him she is a member she can be checked in. Mark refused to listen. My spouse is the primary on the account. Today he was busy working so I went alone to the gym. Mark said my spouse needs to be here so I can be checked in. I left the gym to pick up my spouse so that he can check me in and Mark still refused to allow me to use the gym. His statement was your spouse must stay at the gym with you before we can allow you to workout. I was extremely upset because he didn't explained that earlier to me. I wasted my time for no reason. I only use this location. My spouse and I come to the gym 4 days a week together. Mark needs to be written up or get fired. He clearly doesn't know how to communicate or do his job properly. turn on the ac!!! it is absolutely ridiculous that la fitness doesn't properly run the air conditioning during the summer. we're already here to work out and sweat - we shouldn't be sweating just standing around the gym. when it's a hot summer day, walking inside the gym should feel like a relief from the heat outside, not the other way around. members pay good money every month. keeping the gym at a reasonable temperature is a pretty basic expectation. please turn on the ac and keep the gym comfortable for your members. read more

OVERVIEW: It's not perfect, but it's one of the better LA Fitness locations if you just want to focus on working out. PROS: - The Lake Forest location has a much more mature clientele as compared to other LA Fitness locations in Irvine. Not as many high-school kids or young women with cameras filming themselves here. So if you just want to focus entirely on your workout, with as little distraction as possible, this is the place. - Further to the mature clientele mentioned above, you don't get as many muscle heads hogging machines for hours or women there who want to show off their assets for the world to see. So you get more of a relaxed environment on the workout floor. Same goes for the basketball court and swimming pool. - They have all the machines you will need for complete training, and they're pretty well maintained. CONS: - This location has ventilation issues. So if you're at the back of gym where the squat racks are where fresh air isn't flowing, it can be a bit suffocating. Becomes a bigger issue if someone there has body odor. - As someone else mentioned, it seems they're short on maintenance staff, because the paper towel dispensers in the men's locker room always seems to be empty. - If you're into squats, you might not be happy, as there are only three (3) racks available. (Doesn't come close to the 10 racks available at the Barranca location in Irvine. read more

I've been going to LA Fitness recently, and overall I really like it. They just opened a new swimming pool, which is a great addition and makes the gym feel more premium. I've recently been using the pool and the treadmill since I'm pregnant, and both have been really helpful for staying active. Most of the equipment is new and well-maintained, which makes workouts more enjoyable. My favorite part is the Zumba classes and I love the teacher. I do wish they offered yoga classes specifically for pregnant women that would make the experience even better. read more

My wife and I joined as Silver Sneaker members and also signed-up for Personal Fitness Training. We met with Jerusha, Personal Training Manager who gave us the initial tour and then set-up our assessment the following morning. Based on the assessment we then established a Personal Training Plan. Afterwards we decided that we needed to make some changes to the Plan and Jerusha worked with us to meet all of our objectives, going the extra mile! Our 1st Session this morning with our respective Personal Trainers, Jean-Marc and Roza, went very well and we're both pleased with our Trainer, Knowledgeable, professional, and listened to our needs. The facility is clean, well-laid out and wasn't too noisy. The equipment all looked to be in very good condition, well-maintained. The personal trainers are terrible, not worth the cost. It's also obnoxious that they have gym equipment and a huge space that you cannot use unless you pay for the over priced personal trainers. The resistance machines are missing so many attachments that you spend more time looking for them than working out while no one using the personal training ones cannot be touched. read more

How do you have staff so incompetent that they would shame and embarrass a mom for taking her 6yr old son with special needs, into the restroom with her? It'd be mind boggling if such a policy exists, especially nowadays, which would limit/prohibit a parent with a special needs child to only use a specific restroom, but even if such a mindless policy exists, at least train your brainless staff to address such incidents with grace and professionalism. I am currently looking for a new gym since I'm new to the area, and this was a very disappointing experience. From the start, the staff was dismissive and unfriendly, and more focused on socializing with each other than assisting members. I scheduled a tour, but after being checked in, I was left to figure out the gym layout on my own with no guidance. Cleanliness was a major issue. Members were not wiping down equipment after use, and there was a noticeable lack of cleaning supplies available throughout the gym. It was genuinely unsanitary. Thankfully, I brought my own wipes, but that should not be necessary. To make matters worse, someone was actively working out inside the sauna, taking up the entire space, which is completely inappropriate and unhygienic. The free weight area is also extremely limited. If the personal training area were opened up, there would be much more usable space instead of forcing members to work out cramped next to benches. Overall, this gym lacks basic cleanliness standards, organization, and customer service. I would strongly discourage others from joining. read more

This used to be my go-to LA Fitness location mainly because it was always clean and well-maintained, but over the past few months, I've noticed several issues that have really changed my impression. First, the paper towel dispensers are empty most of the time. I'm not sure if people are taking extra or if they're just not being refilled regularly, but it's become a recurring issue. It might seem like a small thing, but paper towels are one of the most basic and inexpensive essentials a gym can provide. When they're missing, many people skip washing their hands altogether, which isn't sanitary. Second, the sauna is in poor condition. One of the large wooden planks on the bench is broken and has clearly been that way for a while. It doesn't look like there's any regular maintenance or inspection schedule in place. It's both unsafe and disappointing to see this level of neglect in a facility that charges monthly membership fees. Lastly, I don't have an issue with homeless individuals using the gym, everyone deserves access to showers and a safe space. However, if that's the case, the cleaning crew needs to do a more thorough job to make sure all areas, especially the locker rooms and sauna, are consistently cleaned and sanitized. This location used to set the standard for cleanliness and upkeep, but lately, it feels like management has stopped paying attention. Well, we have a new manager again at My LA Fitness, Her name is Sara. I have been lucky enough to get the chance to talk with Her a view times. She is very nice, always has a smile on Her face. I think in the Month+ She has been about Location She has kept things running smoothly. The machines have been kept in good working condition and the bathrooms have been clean and stocked as needed. Of Course Daphne and Her crew have been working hard to keep the gym clean and fresh. I have noticed more personal training happening in the mornings when I usually get to the gym which is good news for the community to keep in shape. I was verbally assaulted in the pool lane by another member screaming and flushing his both middle fingers at me. I came to complain and seek help at the reception. The person, called himself Brad, asked me to come to the pool and when we both did, he told the person who just assaulted me that he was fine and I was wrong for not asking his permission to jump in the shared lane. Let's start off by saying that I commute from Irvine to workout at this location. The LA Fitness near my house (Woodbury Center) is impossible to get in a decent workout at any time of day. This location is clean and has a good amount of equipment. Front desk staff have always been polite and wish you a good workout. Weights are (for the most part) always re-racked and dumbbells are as well. The only negative thing I can say about this location is that the pool shows it's age and squat rack is lacking. A clean place to workout but it's been so crowded lately. I get a bad breakout on my back which looks like acne. I don't get this unless something or someone irritates it. I think it was the people in the sauna wearing their sneakers instead of sandals. It could have been the other members not being clean and wiping up. The Gym is great, if a machine goes down they fix it quickly. The Manager Kelly is very nice and greets You when She behind the Counter. The other Ladies especially Mary is very sweet too. The cleaning crew led by Daffney works hard to keep the entire gym clean. The people using the restrooms need to be better at picking up after themselves. There are plenty of trash cans, instead of throwing paper towels toward the trash can maybe take one step towards the can and "lay it up and in" as Chick Hearn would say. I think most of the people working out are courteous to others and that's awesome. Keep up the good work. One suggestion would be to attach signs above the wet wipe dispensers that ask that the wipes be placed in one of many trash cans around the gym. If I were to write a review off of my most recent experience I would say corporate needs a call, because their new male manager is extremely aggressive, and has EXTREMELY poor customer service skills. There is always a new protocol with this place, and the implementation comes with a dose of rudeness. Consistency isn't something this Lake Forest location believes in, which is such a turn off from interacting with the front desk staff. To be honest, it would be better if there wasn't someone at the front desk-- just a scan and and go would be best. Having gated access would solve most of the issues because the rude, disengaged, aggravated humans that act like working is a burden would be gone. On the other hand, there is a couple wonderful staff members (one being Maria) and these people need to be promoted. A gym isn't a place where you should ever walk away with a bad taste in your mouth; you literally go for endorphins. Maria always has a smile and appears to enjoy interacting and performing her job in a professional manner. Half of the battle with enrollment is the answer to the question 'do I feel welcomed?' A training for entire staff should be implemented, because it is far and few between that people take this front desk job seriously and it is a bad reflection on the LA Fitness brand. As for other things to note: pool could be a touch cleaner, equipment is clean, parking is adequate, and the fees are reasonable. read more
