Primary Physician referred us back to West Coast Hearing and Balance for the hearing aides. The misinformation doesn't end. It's hard to get in touch with them, because they use an answering service during business hours. Spoke with their answering service operator who told me that my appointment was good to go, but was later rescheduled. Received misinformation from the referral department on if the insurance covers the hearing aides. After going back and in forth in being told the hearing aides were covered by Medicare and then they were not covered I found out they were ultimately not. I was told by their front office the primary physician did not have the correct referral the day of my appointment, I called in the morning and told for a hearing aid evaluation I shouldn't have a problem. I showed up for the appointment was told I had to reschedule, because the referral from my primary physician was incorrect, and was threatened with having to pay for the appointment even though I we showed up and they rescheduled it. Oh, they don't have an office manager onsite for complaints. Their front office is unprofessional and ghetto. If I can give that place zero stars I would.

I feel like they could easily avoid this by sending you the paperwork/questionnaire to be filled out before your appointment date like all of the other healthcare offices I am a patient at do. So I had to take off work for 2 hours in order to make the time of 30 min arrival time. What was most frustrating is the Dr. Geffen entered my exam room 25 min AFTER my appointment time. This is not right. If they expect you to be 30 min early to your appointment, they should have to same courtesy to be on time for your appointment. The Doctor's time is valuable but so is mine. I feel like Dr. Geffen wasn't really listening to me. Sure he looked briefly at my nose and ears and spent all of 5 minutes with me. He just assured me that he didn't see any signs of congestion but if things changed to contact him. The office and exam room was clean. The lobby had several patients chatting with one another. My insurance wasn't overcharged. The office charged my insurance $206 for an examination. If I need services again for congestion or GERD, I would probably give them another chance to see if this was just an off experience. Then speaking to well known experenced ENT MD, he was remiss at first then explained they just sold the pratice to a national company last year and there are numous complaints for incorrect/over billing and procedures being un-necessary preformed. Now the seasoned professionals have retired and the new have taken over, honesty and bedside manner is now extinct in this practice. don't assume their billing is correct and truthful and just pay the billing, do your research.
