I had so many questions but she took the time to answer each one. We took a couple weeks to get me to 100% but that was the plan from the beginning. Turning everything on full blast would only make me hate things. So each week we turned it up and tweaked the settings. Allow me to explain why. First off, the customer service that is provided. They completely understand the "high touch" need that is required with elderly patients. Every question that has been asked is fully answered and there's never any doubts as you're walking out the door. The people who work here actually CARE about their patients. Frequently we have been given multiple suggestions about how to deal with specific circumstances and we have never had anyone balk or stonewall us. Any required repairs have been done quickly and without hassle. Yes, if you need this service I would highly recommend Acoustic Hearing Aids in Camarillo!

    I am not totally decided on how I feel about this clinic. I was grateful that they were able to get…read moreme into the office within a week but the woman that scheduled the appointment did not tell me I needed to be there 30 min PRIOR to my appointment time. Instead the morning of, I received the text reminder and in that text it was mentioned that I needed to arrive 30 min before my appointment. I feel like they could easily avoid this by sending you the paperwork/questionnaire to be filled out before your appointment date like all of the other healthcare offices I am a patient at do. So I had to take off work for 2 hours in order to make the time of 30 min arrival time. What was most frustrating is the Dr. Geffen entered my exam room 25 min AFTER my appointment time. This is not right. If they expect you to be 30 min early to your appointment, they should have to same courtesy to be on time for your appointment. The Doctor's time is valuable but so is mine. I feel like Dr. Geffen wasn't really listening to me. Sure he looked briefly at my nose and ears and spent all of 5 minutes with me. He just assured me that he didn't see any signs of congestion but if things changed to contact him. The office and exam room was clean. The lobby had several patients chatting with one another. My insurance wasn't overcharged. The office charged my insurance $206 for an examination. If I need services again for congestion or GERD, I would probably give them another chance to see if this was just an off experience. I think I would request to see Dr. Vidya though as he seemed like the office favorite Dr.

    My mom was admitted to Alta for skilled nursing toward the end of April, after a two-week hospital…read morestay at Cedars for recurrent glioblastoma. Trying to get her into the right SNF was a major challenge, but when Alta finally accepted her, we were thrilled. (My mother-in-law had been a previous patient there, and we liked the facility.) From the moment my mom arrived at Alta, the staff was warm and friendly and took great care of her. She always had a smile on her face and told me how much she enjoyed being there. She was always in the activities room, either participating in some fun activity or at least sitting in there watching others when she wasn't physically able to join in. She particularly enjoyed jewelry making and the visits from the service dogs. I was always greeted by Rachel when she saw me, and she would ask me to help pick out my mom's food choices for the upcoming few days. The food always looked and smelled great, and my mom usually ate everything on her plate. After about a month at Alta, she hadn't been making much improvement due to her condition and some underlying issues that no one had known about. She had stopped eating and was sleeping a lot more than usual. Jose, one of the nurses, called me one evening to let me know that she was very dehydrated and had a weak pulse, so they were starting her on an IV and monitoring her closely. About an hour later, he called back to say she was having trouble breathing and that he had called the paramedics. Jose told us he suspected sepsis, but we couldn't figure out how that was possible. Unfortunately, she had suffered a bowel perforation, which led to septic shock and then cardiac arrest (due to a previous hospital treatment). If not for Jose's quick thinking and expertise, my mom would have passed away at Alta in her bed. Thanks to him, we were fortunate enough to get her to the hospital to say our goodbyes. Sadly, she passed away a few hours after arriving at the hospital on May 26, 2026. When we returned to Alta to gather her belongings, the staff members we spoke with were visibly saddened and shocked to hear the news. We are so grateful to Alta and their wonderful staff for taking such great care of my mom. Her last month on earth was filled with kindness and compassion, and she received so much love and care there.
