I encountered a mechanical issue over the weekend with my BMW and called Terry first thing Monday morning. He answered personally and was honest about the work he intended to do. His price was fair, and his schedule was very accommodating to my work schedule. I ended up needing a follow up visit. His work turnaround was quick, and I never felt like I was getting ripped off throughout the process. What would have taken me a whole week to get done at BMW, took a couple of days with Terry. When I left, the truck was skipping and choking before I left their lot......pulled it back into the bay, they looked at it, said it was fine. I left but the truck was STILL choking. Found out from another mechanic that was recommended to me that a spark plug wire was left off. Further...HERE'S THE BEST PART....I went home to check my Meineke invoices history and all those fluid level flushes had been done in 2024, 2025 and now in September of 2026...on a truck that travelled less than 1,000 miles over the last 3 years. (it's a 2nd vehicle so we don't drive it much)..They will up-sell you on all kinds of unnecessary services. My new mechanic told me that he has numerous stories from customers that we "hosed" at Meineke. DON'T GO THERE!!! There are plenty of other reputable businesses in Albemarle. No, my father was a mechanic and he warned me about oil burning out of a car blue or black smoke coming out of the exhaust and you can smell it in the AC ventilation system.
