While we've had positive experiences with Dr. Park in the past, in our most recent visit he was in an agitated state almost immediately. He was highly frustrated with my child, who was scared, and did not offer the reassurances I would have expected from a pediatric dentist. Instead, his behavior escalated what was otherwise a manageable level of discomfort. When pressed about his failure to deescalate, he became further agitated, and began arguing with me directly. It was all very unexpected and caused us a significant level of anxiety. Kudos to his staff, who helped us to leave quickly and with the paperwork we needed to seek care elsewhere. Of Dr. Park, I will say, make sure you catch him on a good day otherwise you may need to help regulate not just your child's emotions but also their dentist's.

Also, unfortunately, you form your teeth at ~4 mos old, which is when she had very high bilirubin. It resulted in stained and brittle teeth. Because of her medical history, we made the trek to OHSU for dental care in the past. Until we decided to look closer to home. Honestly, the team is awesome and we have full confidence in their care. They speak with my daughter's transplant team to ensure we're on the same page. Unfortunately, despite excess dental care, she has already needed fillings and an adult molar extraction, but she does phenomenally well with Doug's care. She would scream so much at OHSU that she'd work herself up until she puked. It was a nightmare. Not one peep while she's at this office! The decor/theme in the office is also awesome. It probably makes it easier for kids to want to come here.

Today, I have to just write this review because I really appreciated how one of the hygienists, Amanda, was so so patient and kind with our 2 year old, including using the dental tools to give his truck a car wash and allow our son to become familiar with the tools. Honestly, the whole team was great including their new dentist Dr. Parker! They addressed my concerns about my oldest's mouth breathing/drooling at night , and I felt heard and also left with a plan of action. I've always been happy here to the point that even when we moved from Portland, we still drive all the way from Ridgefield, WA (north about 35min). So far as they take our insurance, we will keep coming!

Dr Sheena is an exceptional pediatric dentist and a hero in my household. My son is a…read moreneurodivergent toddler who is very anxious about his mouth being touched. Dr. Sheena (and her entire staff) are extremely patient and kind with him every visit. They meet him where he's at, play with him, use imaginative talk and take each visit very slowly. The entire practice is children's themed. The Lobby plays films and there are toys/prizes for patients. They make it a fun experience and he's slowly starting to open up because of it. Recently, my son experienced a first very painful cavity/tooth infection and Dr Sheena tirelessly helped us resolve the issue one weekend. She's truly a rockstar dentist who really cares. Then our son required dental surgery, Dr. Sheena, plus her staff, couldn't have been more patient with US! Two anxious parents terrified of putting our son under anesthesia. They answered all of our questions, texts, calls and were sure to let us know "You are not alone, we are here to help" which is a God-send to hear as worried parent. Again, Dr. Sheena is a hero in our household!

They know exactly how to engage children with jokes, silly conversations, and imaginative language that helps take away the fear. Instead of scary dental terms, they call the mouth prop a "tooth pillow," and they find thoughtful ways to make procedures easier for kids who struggle with certain tastes, textures, or sensory experiences. They never rush, they meet each child where they are, and they make every visit feel safe and fun. As a parent, it's such a relief to find providers who genuinely understand that every child is different and who adjust their approach with kindness and compassion. Thank you, Dr. B, Dr. Sheena, and the whole team for creating such a welcoming environment. You make a huge difference for families like ours!

The dentist stopped showing us the x-rays automatically, instead I get told there's another cavity and go schedule the appointment to fill it and that's that. It just feels a little impersonal and like they're not trying to do anything else to help. The last thing that kind of put me over was the receptionist acting shocked the last two times I've been there when I needed to schedule the filling a month out or spread out appointments. My insurance does not cover the whole price of fillings. They are $100+ and I literally had to tell her, I am a single mom, I don't just have extra money lying around (which someone shouldn't have to explain). One of my daughter's fillings ended up falling out too, for no reason. I instead went to my dentist that I go to and they offered my daughter preventative measures that are super well priced so that fillings aren't necessary, especially for teeth that are going to fall out soon. Even their filling prices were slightly cheaper and the receptionist was super nice and let me schedule the appointments when I needed to, without question or hesitation. Plus, they care about you as a person and even remember things you told them from the previous time you were there. Overall young Kidz is pretty good for a dentist, just left me with a bad vibe.
