Would give zero stars if i was able I can't even begin to explain how terrible this entire place is I couldn't have enough bad things to say about this place and I was only there for about five minutes. staff is so rude and garbage to people that they 'choose' are inferior, their language and approach is disgusting This was literally the worst experience of my life, my girlfriend told me she liked this place before covid so we went to check it out. the brunette up front refused me a receipt and pocketed my cash payment, the coffee we got had cat hair in it, the bathroom had human feces on the floor and smelled worse than a truck stop. my girlfriend made the mistake of -almost- picking up a cat, and was absolutely SCREECHED at by the very UGLY hideously looking sea Hag that works in the back. IT was so rude that we decided to leave. NOTE TO STAFF: If someone makes a mistake you can be polite and ask them to correct the behavior you don't have to be human dumpster fire and talk to other people like their sh!t on your shoe. I really hate low IQ City people who have no fvcking idea what it takes to actually raise animals and it's clear that the staff here has no fvcking idea what they're doing. to be rude to people who are trying to have a nice time and weren't out to do any harm or negligence, yet the staff treats everyone they judge as lesser Are automatically treated as if they are. Anywhere else this Behavior would be instant termination! instantly fired. as we went to leave I complained to the lady at the front and rather than apologizing LAUGHED IN OUR FACES! this ignorant Lowe born scum bag of a human being, responds by saying "well if you kept picking them up we would have kicked out anyway so it's good for both of us" and laughed as she walked away When my girlfriend didn't even pick a cat up. I was refused to receive for my cash payment I was refused to refund when we went to leave. After being inside maybe a minute minute and a half, long enough for me to take a pee and see the disgusting bathroom. and I walk out to this witch screaming at my girlfriend. Staff is incredibly rude discriminatory has no Manners has no ability to speak People, has no professionalism and are thieves! If the staff members were male I would be in jail right now because I don't let people speak to me or my girlfriend like that. but these low quality individuals that somehow managed to be employed in this place despite the plethora of one and zero star reviews explaining their constant rudeness and BLATEN THEFT. Which is 100% why this garbage staff treats people the way they do because they know they can get away with it. so I urge everyone to show them with their dollars that you can't treat people like this and I will be starting a personal campaign to tell everyone I can via social media and real life about how terrible this place is and to never ever ever show up here or go here. people should probably be calling in Better Business Bureau health and safety and have these cats rescued from people who have no idea what they're doing go anywhere else picking cat up off the street would be better than getting one here that is how terrible the staff is. read more

It's such a unique set up with nothing quite like it anywhere. Min and Jonah take great pride in creating a welcoming and inviting atmosphere for everyone and they truly care for the kitties. With free wifi, lots of yummy options for food and drink and a great selection of pet products in the front at Wyndham variety, there's so much to love if you're a cat lover!!! The kitties are most active first thing in the morning and later in the evening. It's a great place to meet so many likeminded people who come together because of our love of cats. It's clean, well maintained, and when I've been there you can see how they work closely with their rescue partners to ensure the cats are well taken care of no matter what the cats needs are. The stories of these kitties can be heartbreaking to hear from the conditions where they've come from but it's amazing to see the progress and exciting to hear from Jonah or Min the follow up stories on how the kitties are doing. One of the goals I'm guessing is to create an environment for people to really connect with these beautiful creatures in hopes of giving them a forever home and not just see them through a cage and to see that they've adopted out over 100 cats since October 2015 is pretty amazing. You can see every cats name posted on the door which is such a personal touch to remind everyone how each kitty mattered! read more

We used to be regulars at this cat cafe. We don't go in as often as we'd like anymore because we've moved, but we go back when we get the chance. The place is clean and comfortable with a friendly/welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Min and Jonah are wonderful people who invest a lot of time and effort into this. They put their heart and soul into it. We love grabbing a simple tea or an iced-catpurr-chino and a cookie and hanging out with the kitties. (It is mandatory to get something off the menu or donate $2 to help take care of the kitties). The best time of day to go is very early morning or late evening on a week day as that's when the kitties are most active and there are fewer people. It's because of a late night visit that we ended up meeting our furr-ever pal (Luna, previously known as Violet). She gives the cat cafe 2 paws up. Yes, you can adopt the kitties that are available there through Purrfect companions (a rescue in Courtland, Ontario). Another star could be added by investing in a real life cappuccino machine...but really, that's just me being picky. Great job guys. Highly recommend. read more

I love My Kitty Cafe. I go all the time to chill with a book or friends and coffee, and of course, cats! My Kitty Cafe is a satellite location of the Guelph Humane Society -- their primary focus is to foster homeless cats and help get them adopted to loving families. In my opinion, that alone makes MKC worth visiting. All the cats there are in need of love! Also, the menu of MKC is affordable and delicious. Whenever I'm there, there are fresh-baked treats, a variety of coffee flavours, and a tasty menu of authentic korean cuisine. Plus, the staff are friendly cat-lovers! The cat area of MKC is huge and built to suit the cats that live there -- tons of cat trees, toys, and comfy couches and chairs for everyone. Sure, sometimes the cats are shy and hiding and/or sleeping, but it turns out that's what cats do ;) Overall, MKC is a great place to hang out with friends, and it is for a VERY good cause. Their primary focus is to rehome cats in need!! It's a wonderful place that all cat lovers should visit! (also I am in no way affiliated with the owners of MKC. I completely agree with everything Caroline M said below!! My son and I LOVE LOVE LOVE going to this place for many reasons. 1. Staff is always friendly and courteous, never rush you and open to hearing opinions. 2. The food is amazing!! There is a great selection and I love how all the names are somehow associated with cats. 3. Every time we go in there is new merchandise that is cat related for cat lovers and proceeds (at least in part) go to the organization they are associated with. 4. The furniture is clean and very comfortable. Definitely a homey vibe and not a 'drug dealer' one as someone else states. I have even tried to convince them to let me have a chair in particular I love. Half joking when I do and they have fun when I bring it up. 5. There are always cats and always posters giving you information about each one so you have an idea of what they are like before you see them. 6. Did I mention they even offer free wifi?! How dare anyone put this place down! I will continue to go there and support their cause! read more

I have been to the kitty cafe on quite a few occasions. Every time I have come in, the staff have been courteous, friendly, and always showing their love for the felines they care for. Yes, there is a $2 entrance fee if you do not choose to buy something from the "cafe" part, but in my honest opinion, I think that is great. It is a wonderful establishment, and to me, the $2 cover for those who do not want something to eat and/or drink is acceptable. The money goes towards helping with the upkeep of the cafe and care for the kitties. Overall, it is almost always busy, and the atmosphere is casual and engaging, but most of all, the kitties are always happy, healthy, and looking for their fur-ever homes. Any place that can help adopt out almost 100 kitties is a 5 star in my books hands down :) read more

I'm not sure what Mandy S is talking about, obviously she had different expectations and was disappointed it didn't fit her ideal BUT I think the place is fabulous. My 10 year old son loves going there and knows that when you buy food and coffee you are helping to support the cats which are all RESCUES, who they are helping to get adopted. The baked goods are homemade and tasty and smoothies are fabulous! Been in several times including last weeks kitten drive and there has NEVER been a bad odor. The staff are always friendly and courteous. If you want to go to a comfortable place with tasty treats that works to help cats find forever homes this is the place for you, if you are looking for a chi-chi cafe where the cats are there for your entertainment, maybe you should go elsewhere. read more

Min Kim, the owner of My Kitty Cafe, is a creep. He hired all his younger staff (all young women) based on their looks - which is what I heard directly from a friend who worked there and "mysteriously" got fired weeks later. I also heard he gives alcohol to minors. Other reasons to avoid this place: -It's in the back of a convenience store -It SMELLS. And I mean S-M-E-L-L-S. Its like the carpets and fabric couches have never been properly cleaned -It tends to attract people you don't want your kids around -The food prices are ridiculous, because it seems none of the staff have ever been properly trained in food service. All in all, would avoid that place completely. There are so many other cool cafes downtown Guelph, don't pay the entree fee only to be disappointed in this one. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! I booked kitty time and when I got there I was told I did not have time booked. After I drove over 40 mins there. I showed my email confirmation as well as credit card confirmation and was told too bad, take it up with my credit card company, nothing can be done, someone else had the time booked. My Kitty Cafe is a sanctuary for cats and for people. It is unique and the fact the owner had the vision to turn unused space in his convenience store in to a shelter for cats waiting for a forever home is truly inspiring.
