LASH PERM & TINT REVIEW: I've hesitated writing this review, and even gave Darlene a chance to respond to my concern/unhappiness but she did not respond or try to make it right unfortunately. Wanted to get it done for the first time to check it out. I mainly found two places that had the service My lash girl being one of them. The other place is much bigger and has more of a name but I like to shop locally. I spoke to Darlene over the phone with some questions, she directed me to the website to book an appt. I went through with the request put in my info and everything but no where was there an option to book an appt or see her availability. I called again, sent a text with my availability. Waited TWO DAYS for a reply and then finally got an appt scheduled. THEN, Darlene texts me 3 HOURS BEFORE MY APPT to say that she won't make it back to Katy in time. I'm so upset as now it's been more than a week since trying to make an appt and I finally make one and she cancels on me. She has a strict no show/cancellation policy she holds her customers to but then just unprofessionally cancels appts on customers. I don't get it. She knew she had my appointment why would she not plan accordingly. So we find a new time to reschedule for 3 days later. **I'm finally at my appointment and she starts by asking me how curly I want them. I told her I wanted them the curliest. Then as I'm laying and she's already put the stickies on my eyes and everything she asks if I want "WHISPS OR BABYDOLL". Now this is the first time I ever do anything to my lashes never done extensions or even falsies, so I have nooo idea what she's referring to. She explains the whisps are like flared that pair perfectly with winged eyeliner or Babydoll which are just pretty and curly. I had no idea which one I wanted such a hard decision for me to make at that second without prior knowledge of what she's talking about. So she says she can do an in between one she does for people who can't decide. So I figure that's the best bet since I have no idea what either would look like. The last step for sure burned a lot but I wanted them curled and tinted as much as possible so I put up with it. Once it was all done and I got to see them, I definitely expected them to have come out curlier. But I figured that's just how they look now but they look better and I just didn't want to be disappointed. But I'm so disappointed. My left eyelashes definitely look whispy they all tilt to the left so my front lashes in my inner corner are non existent. My right eye lashes are curled in the middle but not the inner or outer corner and they're not curled all the way just a middle length curl. The point of getting your lashes permed is so you can skip the step of curling them everyday. I STILL HAVE TO CURL MY LASHES EVERYDAY :( The problem is they don't curl evenly or like they use to because of that jacked up perm she gave me. My eyelashes look stupid everyday now I'm so sad! I'm highly disappointed and frustrated for wasting my money, trusting Darlene & the good reviews(that are mainly for extensions), and for messing up my lashes. I was better off before coming in and now I have to wait weeks for it to go away. Please save your money and lashes and go somewhere else. I'm sure she's just better at extensions then perming. She is way too busy to respond to calls or texts in time, isn't flexible for appts, and doesn't care if your happy with her work. She took before and after pictures of me, she said she would send them to me and never did. I asked her for them and she never sent them to me. Well to start , I really liked her ( past tense). She did a great job , very nice , and fun to talk to . However , she never made an app on time . I went back three-four times to just see if it was maybe she was going through or if she was just a TERRIBLE businessman. Lol , yeah I won't ever go back . Maybe she's not this way with everyone but I had a not so great experience. I had her do a pre-wedding look due to I have never had my lashes done before but I wanted to look a little more done up for the big day . I did the natural look and I was really pleased with them . I went back a week later to have a volume refill. THEY LOOKED AMAZING!! I was so happy and looked really pretty with them, but this is when it all went down hill :(. A week later all of my lashes had come off , all but maybe 4-5 on each eye. I was told that I had 8 weeks until the last lash comes off but I didn't think I would be walking around looking like I've picked all my lashes off ( yes, my own natural lashes came out as well and currently working on re-growing.) I took all precautions to make sure they lasted with my make up removal routine . So I text her and said hey , not sure If this is normal but this is what happened. Hah, so she then told me that she would do my whole new volume lash set for 50% off because she had changed glues and she had a few more clients tell her the same things ... well I show up and I had previously made a wax app as well for my brows , well 1.) we ran out of time and 2.) I wasn't upset because they didn't really need them . The lashes looked ah-mazing ( this post isn't about the quality of work she puts out, I have ALWAYS been pleased.) However , my husband texts me a few days later saying " holy cow why was it so expensive this time?" I proceeded to tell him that it was supposed to be half off ( 150$ originally so only should've been 75$) and I didn't do brows . I was charged 200.00!!!!!!!! I immediately text her and said what the heck?! Well 1.) she charged me for a service I didn't even get ( eyebrows) and she charged me the full 150.00$ for something that was her fault in the first place , on top of my 17.00 tip well we go back and forth and I tell her just to Venmo me everything back except for the 75$ I agreed to pay. Lol she Venmo's me the tip and the eyebrows. I text her and text her about the other half of my eyelashes that SHE specifically told me we're half off !!! NOT A SINGLE WORD FROM HER!! That's why she gets one star , I'm not sure why you can't go lower for being a thief . I really liked her and trusted her word and she betrayed me and essentially stole money from me . Awful awful awful business person , can't show up on time ( which I never complained because heck, I have a hard time getting somewhere on time due to my kids , which I know she has two with her), but to tell me one thing and BLATANTLY keep my money lol. I came across Darlene's business on groupon originally but booked directly with her for a holiday special for extensions. For extensions at a discounted rate, this is a bit pricier than what I've paid in the past. The standard rate of $250 is more than what I'd pay for a comparable place in NYC, but I chalk that up it being a more saturated market. But, the lashes are good quality and Darlene is absolutely amazing at applying lashes - the most comfortable experience I've had getting my lashes applied by far! I didn't even realize at time that she was even applying to lashes to my eyes. Dropping it from 5 to 4 stars because in the less than 1 week since I have had my extensions, I've lost about 15-20 from my left eye that I know of. I followed the 48 hours rule of not wetting the lashes, but starting with the morning after getting my lashes done, I'd start shedding off the lashes when I brushed them through! Right now, it's already kind of noticeable that my outer corner has less lashes than the rest of my left eye and from my right eye. I can already see a few more lashes that will probably fall out within the next few days too (they are no longer glued on to the base of my lash, but actually seem to be glued on to the middle of my lash now) read more

As a Lash Tech.. It's nice to have someone like Darlene who do business like yourself. I been a lash tech since 2008 here in Charlotte NC.. The business have always been very hush hush. Not a lot of talks among the techs! Last year, I started to have alot of my clients travels. Between works travel or my college clients go to a new city for college. So I have to network with other techs to see if they can get my clients in when my clients can't see me. That way, I know where they going and tech's works are close to mine, so when clients come back to me. It won't be a major headache incase I need to fix it... Darlene did just that. She have a couple of clients that were heading toward Charlotte NC and she contacted me.. She gave me their history.. So I'll know. I have a chance to review her work Thursday.. After 3 weeks from the initial full set. There isn't much for me to do.. None of the lashes stick together. The lashes density and length is perfect and fit to the client's natural lashes.. Her lashes are clean and beautiful. A gorgeous set.. Techs like myself appreciate work like this., comon now, who wouldn't. After 3 weeks. Called at 10am for an appointment, she texted me with an opening at 2pm, i confirmed it and arranged my day around it. At 1:30pm she texted me saying she double booked and canceled me without further response. My birthday party was for that evening and she ruined my day. I could've been a great repeat customer but instead she gets a 1 star rating. read more

Three words!!! Best Lashes Ever!!!! This was my first time getting lashes and an eyebrow tint. I don't wear lots of makeup, so I was very clear about wanting a natural look. Darlene was so kind and answered my every question while getting eyelash extension. I only came for an eyelash extension and was so impressed with her work, I decided to try the wax and eyebrow tint!!!
