I've missed having a good ol' corner store (and for those who know... a corner store doesn't actually need to be on a corner). This place brought that feeling back in the best way. I came in looking for something else, but there was way more than I expected. You can purchase meats by the pound, the shelves stacked with all kinds of unique and ethnic snacks (cucumber chips, anyone?). Sure the motor oil next to the diapers and pasta sauce is next to the Fabuloso but if they ain't got it, you don't need it. Usually, corner store cashiers aren't exactly known for being chatty, but here it was the opposite. Big shoutout to the dude who helped me pick out snacks as we had a great conversation, and it made the stop even better. Ultimately, I walked out with $30+ in snacks. I needed bratwurst Pringles, hot pot flavored chips, seaweed, and more stuff I haven't found anywhere else. Even though it's 15 minutes away, this is my corner store now. I gave my corner store many dozen chances, but they consistently add sale tags to items then ring them up full price. The machine never rings up the sale tag price - it's no error at this point - he acts like he's a favor to correct it when I show the tag. Today, the wine they tried to overcharge me for was spoiled, yellow and sour, I had to dump it. Not worth going back when they make it so unpleasant to try and be a regular at my corner spot. read more

First off, Happy New Year everyone! This review is long overdue. My Market is my one stop shop for many things. They are open around 8 I believe and close at 8 on weekdays and 9 on weekends. They have a great meat department where I have picked up tons of pollo asado from, along with carne asada, adobada, 80/20 ground beef for cheeseburgers, homemade red and green salsas along with homemade guacamole!! I pick up cilantro, onions, and tomatoes from their produce department, and they have some great tortilla chips and a wide variety of tortillas. Also, Mexican Coke. The two brothers who run the market are cool as heck. They are good people. Also have a wide variety of liquor which I took advantage of when I went on a long bender. With the addition of Captain Sam's Fish and Chicken inside the market itself, this place has become even better. Come support local family owned business! read more

Always a clean store even before all of this pandemic. I usually only come here to buy meat, and it is always delicious and with a large selection, no seafood that I have seen though. Everyone there is always nice, I've never had anyone be rude to me or to any other customers and I go at least once a week. Nice selection of beer and liquor as well. I love this little neighborhood market and have been visiting it for a couple years, usually for the beer selection and the guacamole they make. The spicy salsa there is no joke either! However, recently there seems to have been an influx of investment in the place. They have started stocking their shelves with higher quality food items. The produce is actually looking pretty good - especially since the quality at Whole Foods has noticeably been going down. Its my go-to place for avocados now. This review is for the Mediterranean restaurant that just opened inside. Awesome! Large portion sizes, super fresh produce in the salad. Got the Eggplant salad with beef shawarma and kofta sandwich with french fries. I don't know what kinda of seasoning they put on the fries but its kind of addictive. The restaurant part was chill, simple. We bought drinks from the market, which they should probably just incorporate into ordering a little better. read more

This spot has really good carne and pollo asada not to mention some of the best HOT salsa ever! The also have fresh tortilla chips as well as a good variety of corn and flour tortillas. It is not only a carniceria though, it is a little market with fresh produce other things. The sign says "Taco Shop, Fish & Chips and B.B.Q. First time coming here, I don't usually yelp stores but this guy was really nice. I came here because I was searching for the Roscato wine I tried at Olive Garden. (I know, I know..I'm too classy). Usually when I'm in a wine section at a grocery store my eyes do a quick search and I never have any luck. So I decided to just search for a retailer through the wine's website. Which led me here to My Market. They have alot of wine choices here and I found the Roscato. The guy behind the counter was really friendly. We come in to this store a lot. My boyfriend always gets along with the very friendly cashier/ owners. Well today my boyfriend went to buy a couple things to make dinner with for the family. With the only 20 dollars we had. He went to reach for his cell phone to call me and well the 20 fell out of his pocket and he didn't notice. When he went to pay he couldn't find it. Before accusing anyone he went around looked and check and called me to see if he dropped it at home. The owner approached him and said if he was okay. He told him he thinks someone stole his money. The owner then took him over to check out cameras. Sure enough a man saw my boyfriend drop it and took off with it. Well at this point he thought he was sure out of luck on getting anything seeing as the total was around 15 dollars and he only had 7 dollars but the owner gave us everything we needed for 7 dollars. We honestly appreciate him so much. This store is a good and honest place amongst some very dishonest people sometimes. They will definitely continue to have our business. read more

Many times I have come in here and seen expired food on many isles. One time my husband bought shredded cheese from their meat department area and there was green mold inside of it. One morning I went there and meat was being transported into their store from the bed of a pickup truck just covered in plastic but unrefridgerated. Also go check out the produce. Most of it is nearly bad or bad. Went to buy jalepenos yesterday and all of them had mushy and shriveled parts. They might be okay for cigarettes and beer but don't trust their meat it's cheap for a reason and constantly check expiration dates before buying even canned food cause I have accidentally purchased expired food many times. The groceries at this place are always rotting as a previous yelper stated. The meat stinks all the way from the door. They buy the cheapest meat they can afford probably from mexico and sell it at higher prices. The 5 star reviews at this place are obviously faked out since anyone can walk in here and see and smell for themselves with all the expired food. The meat at this place I wouldn't feed it to my dog. Why would anyone shop at a dishonest and rude place like this? The owners have terrible customer service who obviously pay people to write good reviews. All the products at this place are really cheap and gross. It is the worst place to ever go to if you want to be treated really horribly and on top of that having to smell rotting meat the whole time your in here. This is our first choice when it comes to buying carne asada or pollo asada. Oh and the salsa is WONDERFUL! Even though we moved further away from this place we will still make the drive down there. This place is gross. I live up the street and have been here many times simply for the convenience, but after today I will never shop here again. The produce and meats are always old, plenty of flies buzzing around everything. Today I bought their "homemade guacamole" which was nothing but onion with just barely enough avocado to make the color green. I wanted to throw up the second I tried it. The people working there are always more concerned about gossiping with each other rather than helping customers too. Trust me, go elsewhere. read more

I love "My Market!" Not only do they have anything you need "Convenient Store-wise," they are cool people! The previous owners sucked!! Tony and his new crew are a fantastic addition to this community! The meat is always fresh. They have fresh produce, milk, eggs, cheese! Tons of men's and women's hygienic needs items! My Market has the best butchers in San Diego! Mario will cut any type of meat to meet your needs. The butcher part of the market is to die for, we just came home with a boneless chuck roast that looks like a work of art and cost half of what it would be at Vons or Albertsons! The seasoned chicken and carne asada are wonderful, the steaks are poetry, but my favorite is the .99 ground beef! The ground beef bears no resemblance to that stuff in the supermarket and the butcher will divide it into one or two pounds bags for you. The market part of the store provides a little of everything you might need to pick up on the way home from work. We have been shopping here for four years and feel like Mary (the owner) and her crew is part of the family. Don't let the "tired" interior of the store scare you away! read more
