We were visiting the Liberty Station for the day of fun! We decided to grab a few quick eats and snacks before heading back. This particular Trader Joe's is located in the Liberty Station area and is beautiful! It's off the main street before entering deep into the hustle of shopping and eateries. We quickly checked it out and found our favorites! This trip, we bought some dips, chips, quick frozen meals, coconut water, smoked Gouda cheese and crackers, ice coffee concentrate, heavy whipping cream, and apples. They have their own parking lot. It seemed extremely busy and crowded. The employees were very friendly and helpful as always. They had samples out that day. I always loved sampling the newest thing. They had packages of the cooked bacon bits. They offered on top of a salad. It was very tasty! read more

In only giving it 4 starts because I love Trader Joe's but the guys at the register were talking about one of the guy's girlfriend and their relationship stuff. Never really asked how the visit was or if I found everything I needed. It was just something that could probably be a conversation to have while you're on your break and not while tending to a customer. They were very loud about it too, to obnoxious level. I always have praised employees at Trader Joe's because they always seem happy and are very friendly and offer great customer service but these guys... just wasn't it Other than that, is Trader Joe's and yes I found what I needed. I went on a Sunday Morning right after they opened on 3/1/26- The store was organized, stalked, and clean. I had a fruitful conversation with (my receipt reads S, Randy). After fighting for parking and finally getting into the hoard of frantic gawking shoppers somehow my ass cheeks become a vortex of entry for every old white woman in there in which they pointed their carts at me and rammed at my direction and no matter what I gaze upon, it became the envy of all, and I became so overwhelmed by the cutesy handwriting and confusing aisle structure that my little world started spinning and I ran outside and threw up in the bark chips while dodging more bitches all the while relentlessly attacking me with their shopping carts and then later with their white midsized SUVs. Shopping in San Diego, California... My cousins wanted to go to another Trader Joe's for more snacks! They also are looking for a specific mint... I don't know which type. Since I was there, I looked for green mango - that's what my baby sister would like. I got more greeting cards... and a can of macadamia nuts and cashews - looks interesting! What can I say. It's Trader Joe's. Come here at the right time it's heaven on earth. Otherwise it can be chaos. Kids roaming the aisles. That's not TJoes fault. If this T joes was located where the Vons was that would be awesome just due to size but they make do well with their space. They get very busy. Always restocking which is great because it means logistically things are running smoothly. It means we have food! Let's look at things on the bright side. There's always a friendly door greeter. Tote bags, Hawaiian shirts lol. Let's talk about the items- garlic herb bread, best frozen Asian cuisine I've ever had, their baked goods. Everything is perfection. Don't sleep on the rainbows end trail mix. Their garlic chips with some onion dip. Chefs kiss. Fun seasonal items. They give out samples which is nice. I love when they give me ideas. Friendly staff who has worked there for a long time- means they are taking care of their employees and I support that. Their return policy is the BEST in the world. No questions asked. First time at this location, off busy sports arena and super busy store. It is on the smaller end but stocked and compacted with all your goodies and offering samples during your shopping experience. The parking lot is big although gets a but congested when those who wish to get up close parking wait for people to walk out. There is loading zone right in front, but even the handicap spaces are full here, so it was a bit difficult shopping at this location with a wheel chair. The staff was super friendly and quit at checkout. While I did enjoy my shopping experience at this location, it is quite stressful parking, crossing the street and then returning back to your vehicle to exit. There needs to be more regulated flow of traffic. In any event, woukd recommend if you are in the area and need a place to shop. read more

it's TJ's we love to pick up our favorite items on our shopping list and do walk out with more specially when they have new items to try. This location store nice and clean somewhat busy in the mornings with traffic and lots of parking. Recommended this location to couple of friends when they visit San Diego. Okay favorites in the frozen section from veggies to heat and eat meals , rice dishes and found the kung pao chicken delicious. Picked up some spices for cooking , baking and dressings for salads. Their produce nice and fresh , selections on beverages and flower bouquets and plants. items hard to find like their canvas tote bags or cooler bags, staff friendly and helpful at the checkout . Walking in at this location, I'm happily greeted outside the entrance with a couple of Lunar New Year pick up items, bright yellow chrysanthemums and small money trees! This automatically makes me happy! Coming into the store, you come across the frozen aisle items and what do I see immediately?!? Hot Chocolate Polar bears! After Christmas and still just hanging out! WTH are these still hanging around?!? The past few years as soon as I spot them, I have to get my fill for the season, at least a dozen to gift in Xmas goody bags and a couple for myself to enjoy. Because on my next visit... if wanted more, not a single Hot chocolate bear will be in sight! So I was pleasantly surprised to see that they are still available on my last few visits! The Point Loma location has recently become my favorite TJ location! I'm a usually MV goer, but it's just sheer insanity whenever I go there now. They also run out of my must haves... one item being the hash brown patties. There is never any left on the weekends! But I've been here to the Point Loma location twice in the evening... during the weekend and they're still some in stock! Just pure joy at this point! Besides the crazy parking at Mission Valley... never an open spot, tiny tight spaces or just basically parking at BevMo across the ways! It's so easy to park at Point Loma! My visits here are just less stressful and more enjoyable! Staff here of course super friendly. Out of all the Trader Joe's, this one really disappoints me. Last week, I took my kids and my grandmother to this Trader Joe and my son got excited because they were giving out samples. I followed him along with my grandmother and daughter, and he asked if he can get three and he gave one to his sister and one to his grandmother. He liked the sample, but when he asked for another one, not for him but for his sister who was asking for another one mind you she is three years old. The lady told him wow this is not to fill your stomach. This is too sample. The product and his reply was I'm not getting a sample for me. I'm getting a sample for my sister. I would never stop a child from taking or getting any samples unless they are allergic, but I have never experience someone to tell my child no to sampling food and to think that he was taking extra samples for himself when he was giving it to his grandmother and sister. To me that was very rude. Another incident, I called the Trader Joe's for a product to see if they have the pine berries in stock. But as soon as someone picked up, a man starts saying no we are out of stock on the mini tote bags and started talking about it without me saying hi or trying to explain that is not the product I'm asking for I waited until he was done speaking and as soon as he finished, I said OK thank you but that was not the question I was going to ask and as soon as I can hear him apologize I hung up. It is extremely rude to cut somebody off without even listening to what the customer has to say. I will not be going to this trader Joe again. read more

This is my new go to Trader Joe's for all of my groceries. Their salads and produce is always perfectly ripe, they keep everything well stocked, and the customer service is amazing! I called ahead about a seasonal item, and they let me know exactly when the next shipment was to arrive with it and what time they stock certain items to help me find the item with ease. The only downside is they get very busy around noon when the local schools and businesses give lunch breaks. Other than that, 10/10! read more

I never thought I'd have to write something negative about Trader Joe's, because it has always been one of my favorite stores. The employees are usually so warm and welcoming, which makes this experience all the more disappointing. I came in with a basket, thinking I'd grab a few things, but ended up only buying one item. At checkout, I handed my item over and said, "just this," then placed the basket on the shelf where I've always seen them stored. The cashier, Figen, looked at me with clear annoyance, scoffed, and then slammed the basket onto the ground. I honestly had no idea that empty baskets were supposed to go on the floor, but even if I was mistaken, I don't think that deserves such a reaction. What made me sadder was the complete lack of kindness. There was no "hello," no "thank you," not even a smile--just a flat "3.99." I grabbed my receipt and walked out of the store feeling embarrassed and unwelcome, which is the opposite of what Trader Joe's usually represents. I truly hope this was just a rough day for Figen, because I'd hate for another customer to leave feeling the way I did. Trader Joe's is a place I've always associated with positivity and friendliness, and I hope it can continue to be that way for everyone. read more

A very large Trader Joe's at Point Loma at Liberty Station. I was in need to #1 in a clean location, Doc thought of this place. Also we bought 3 bottles of water for our Art Walk here. How can they sell water for only 17 cents and sport top for 49 cents a bottle? It has their own parking lot across the street. Coincidently It just happened to be a short walk through the arched buildings nearby with a busy lunch time venue with Fig in its name, Cold Stone, a Yoga Place and a trendy looking hair salon. Everyone knows I love Trader Joes and this location in Liberty Station doesn't disappoint. Between the free samples, abundance of seasonal items, and unique wine selection, it plenty to see and choose from. Last time I stopped in I wanted to grab some fruit, water and the three of my usual pick ups. Their coconut body butter, vitamin E oil and daily facial sunscreen . I sound crazy but this stuff is good. Don't walk, but RUN to your nearest TJ and pick up all three items. Overall what continues to make TJ great is the 10/10 customer service from the employees. I like this Trader Joe's but dislike the changes they made in the item placement. They use to have chips in the last aisle before the registers. Now they put canned goods and other staple/essential items there. Completely throws off the flow for my shopping trips. Sometimes I have to backtrack to get something else based on something I find in this aisle...and sometimes I just can't be bothered and just decide not to get things because I don't want to backtrack. And NEVER EVER go on a Sunday. The church makes parking a nightmare! They don't all abide by the signs stating they have to park in the back area and when they get out of there mega service they take over the parking lot and do NOT let anyone in. read more

I love this location of TJs. It was my go to for so many years before moving to a different area, so the layout always feels like a familiar friend. Parking in the area is super easy. Even on Sundays when the Rock Church is in session, they ensure church goers don't park in the lot directly across the store so that there's still parking available. Customer Service is always a 10/10. It isn't a Trader Joe's visit without someone asking how your day is going or if you've tried this product before. read more

The store itself is fine, but there are a few quirks. The parking lot is across the street, and some entrances are one way only. Upon entering the store, it is cut in half by the snacks aisle. I really wanted to give this place 2 stars but the staff is always lovely so that felt unfair. But gosh, do I HATE this Trader Joe's! Tj's has notoriously bad parking lots but this one takes the cake. It's the sort where you have to drive in to it twice and then loop around to little parking cul-de-sacs almost. Inside this location is just as poorly. The floor plan feels like a fever dream and the isles are horrendously small. It's also quite busy every time I've gone so you're bumping in to people and reaching around them the entire time. I was visiting and saw this Trader Joe's. I needed some shampoo and toiletries as the hotel we were staying in did not provide. I entered this location and Daniel standing near the door obviously thought I was going to rob the place or steal. He immediately started following me like as if I didn't know and watch every move I made. My crossbody bag I had on me could barely hold my necessities. Obviously since I was out of town, I had never been here so Daniel must have thought I was trying to case this location. Hardly. You know, it really upset me. I can spend my money elsewhere and I actually stopped at the Vons after and bought these same type of items. I will be stopping by my hometown location and returning these items. I should have told the cashier to cancel my transaction. I will stay out of Trader Joe's awhile since this company likes employees who profile honest, hard working customers. Who is not allowed here Trader Joe's? What do you want your customers to look like? Gosh...it was horrible. Not the first time I've been treated poorly @ TJ and I stayed away along time. This is my favorite TJ's ever. The staff is reliably very kind and helpful. The layout is different to the standard TJ's but the flow is great. So many great options. My newfound favorite is the pork dumplings made in a delicious ginger sauce. Can't get enough of them. read more

Now that I have lived in San Diego for a few months, I have settled upon which Trader Joe's I will frequent. Other locations can get really crowded at times, and parking can be a real pain. Point Loma gets my business because - Parking is much easier than at other Trader Joe's - This store is bigger than others nearby - I have never seen huge crowds here - All of the employees are cool, friendly, and helpful I was even able to have a conversation with someone about the whiskey that I had purchased. I appreciate when the employees have useful things to tell me, as opposed to when they are just making conversation. As long as you can get used to the unusual layout of the store, you'll want to be a regular at Trader Joe's Point Loma. read more

I love Trader Joe's I just do not like the layout in this establishment. I got dizzy walking around in here and there was a lot of people but not that many that it was packed- they were not that friendly and trying to maneuver through the narrow lanes was just horrible. The store itself had a nice selection of things but when people are not as friendly or it's crowded it takes away from the ability to shop and really enjoy oneself... The whole time we were in there zigzagging only one person asked us if we needed any help with anything and then carried on what they were doing and he was super friendly and he was by the cereal aisle. But no other person else in that store bothered to talk until we got to the cash register that guy was super nice. The wine selection is not as large as some of the other ones and there were a lot of end caps with boxes that narrowed the walkway. I did find my Mandarin slices which are very delicious by the way, the peanut butter chocolate pretzels, the black tea, and The chili onion crunch. Needless to say I won't be back to this location, but I still got mad love for Trader Joe's!!! read more

I wish they would ring the bell more... The good market we all know and love, people that shop here predominantly drive their shopping carts as they do their Priuses, so get ready for ambivalent cart-wielding patrons blocking isles and pileups at the cheese and baked goods.
