I needed help finding some things, and I got precisely that as soon as I walked in the door... oh, and had a great, albeit brief conversation with a gentleman who was loading the dairy case. He was incredibly professional, polite and definitely knew what he was doing (I love when people represent both the company and themselves such as this guy did. I think my complimentary words ushered him revealing the reason he "gets it"... he told me he'd been with the company since 1988. I guess every store has one of those people that is on their best game, some may have more... but I know I just met one of them. In my hometown of Downey we have two Ralph's, locations at one I got Sal, and at the other, I got Nicholas. They, like this gent, are firing on all cylinders. Ralph's is part of the Kroger empire. I could tell by the familiar price tags when I walked in. The store still has a local grocery vibe. The store is laid out well, but the aisles are a bit tight. I found I had to wait for someone to leave an aisle before I could get in. People were friendly, though. The clerk was helpful and gave me some pointers on local alcohol laws. I bought some wine and a few snacks. Bring bags. Parking is available, but tight. read more

Drove right past it, kind of Tucked away and not well marked, small parking lot, but still had plenty of parking. Large store inside. Very clean, tons of options, Starbucks inside, got Whole Foods vibes from this location. Lots of fresh food available. Same reasonable prices as expected. Clean store. Now I love shopping at Ralphs, but I recently bought a bottle of rum called Four Freedoms. It was only $6.99, but when I got home and tried it........ It Tasted like rubbing alcohol. My significant other tasted it, spat it out, and did a Cheech and Chong take shouting "This is Vodka Man!!" , like in the court scene of Up in Smoke. So suffice to say I will not be purchasing this "Rum" ever again and I advise others not to buy this product. Only buy this rum(vodka), if you truley hate yourself, and want to punch your stomach, in your stomach. Would give over negitive 9000 stars if i could. The Employees at this store 1666 are extremely rude. I suggest management look at their cameras...I was Actually told " DO YOU WANT TO TAKE IT OUTSIDE?" Me! A 65 yr grandma! When I disagreed with them I was Harassed by them calling me names even they chased me out to the parking lot and yelled "Don't come back here you're not welcome we don't want your kind!" It's just too unbelievably disgusting that HR actually hired these types of people. They should quietly have a private conversation with their customers whom they disagree with but instead yelled at me and threatened me in front of the whole store of customers. I went to Ralph's store 1666, on Friday to avoid the traffic on Sunday to purchase flowers for my Son's grave who served in the War In Iraq . I asked a store clerk for help she pulled out her phone and put it in my face. I thought she was showing me a picture of her flower arrangement but it was a "google translate app".... To my frustration I said no thanks and walked away and talking to myself in a low voice muttered " why are you working in customer service when you don't speak English?" Nobody was around but young man who approached me and said that I was "a racist" Also he said "you can't tell her she can't work here"... I clarified that I didn't say that she "can't" work wherever she likes only that not speaking English and expecting customers to use "Google Translate" was ridiculous! (I was saying my thoughts to myself "WHY?" ) That's not good customer service. I travel and find it a relief to be back home and speak English and not have to go through all that and I didn't have the time to download the app or go through that hassle I'm not in a foreign country but he kept calling me racist. He ran to the front of the store at the registers and told them that I was being a racist and the women at the register without even talking to me in private to get the whole story started yelling at me asking me calling me names and a racist threatening me with "DO YOU WANT TO TAKE IT OUTSIDE?" When I replied that I can say anything I want to. I'm a 65 year old grandmother who just wanted to buy flowers for my Son on Mother's Day and put them on his grave. The employees don't have to agree with me but they don't have a right to call me names and harass me and thank God for My Son's Service and Sacrifice I have freedom of speech. What is wrong with this store..they had rotten, yes rotten corn for sale right before Memorial Day 2025... produce needs to be trashed sitting on the refrigerator shelf and you can see it is turning slimy. The freezer and refrigerator have black mold along the plastic molding and it is disgusting... If you can see that it is in full sight wondering what else is gross behind the scene. On the 2 March around midnight myself and my friends went to do my grocery shopping . I was sharing a basket with my friend and was ready to check out , I went to the front of the store to get a basket . I saw a basket but it was una attended but there was a large red bull and a resipt in it . I took the red bull out w the receipt and place the item on the corner of the register. In case someone came back for there drink . I thought someone forgot there drink . About 3 mins later this guy walks in starts yelling at me cursing at me getting very aggressive,I thought we were going to fight . I apologize for taking his basket I told him it was una tended and I placed the drink on the corner of the register w the receipt. He yell at me started getting crazy I took my stuff out as I picked up my Gatorade he grabbed them out of my hands twisted them out of my hands and threw them on the ground . I tried apologizing but this person later to find out was an employee of Ralph's his name was Victor , he treated me and till the otherexican guy who me was Miguel told him in Spanish 'wait till he goes outside .I asked Miguel if he was the manager he said yes . But did nothing to stop his employe from getting aggressive with me . I later told Miguel that Victor was so agreeable when he grabbed th gator out of my hands it hurt my wrist . I told him I will be making a formal complaint about this incident. He said for me to do what I have to do. I will never go to shop at night at Ralph's on point Loma. I asked to use the restroom at this Ralph's store, restroom lock on door does not lock, on my way out after using the restroom and being walked in on but luckily I was fully dressed... I asked the employees that directed me to the restroom, if they were aware the restroom door doesn't lock and they both said yes (a male and female employee) they were both aware and they apologized the lock on the door doesn't work. It is very disturbing the restroom door doesn't actually lock but it is far more disturbing employees know this, and don't advise customers asking/using the restroom before hand and on top of that had a male employees walking in on a female using the restroom is beyond belief, this should not be allowed! read more

Impossible to get a basket -- could only find carts? Store wasn't busy, either, so... where were they hiding? Convenient location. Decent parking lot. Smaller Ralphs that located in Point Loma but away from Liberty Station, so you can avoid the crazy parking, but still it has a very small parking, and the traffic on Rosecrans Street also not ideal, anyway I was doing a little shopping on dill pickles spears because Costco only carries the baby kind, I found a few brands here. They pretty much have everything other Ralphs have, except I couldn't find the Lactaid brand ice cream, but they do have other dairy free brands, which was fine. Finally I ran into Channel 933 radio station doing their street promo with one of the store brand Haig's Hummus in honor of National Hummus Day, they gave all the customers vip coupons to try any flavors for free. Unfortunately Haig's Hummus were stored at a different section from the regular hummus brands, and not many employees were aware of that, lucky for me, I was helped by one of the Haig's employee himself, remember if you want to get this brand, the hummus will be located at the kosher section, fyi if you're looking for it next time. I picked the garlic original since I was not into spicy flavor. Finally the store is very short on staffs, maybe 2 of the registers open, the rest is self check out, but most of them didn't work unless you get to an employee, hopefully they will hire more people. read more

This Ralph's (& perhaps ALL the Ralph's) absolutely S-U-C-K-S!!! Example: For many months, they have run a "Special" on Thursdays (for their so-called "Rewards Card" holders, such as me) for $6 a whole rotisserie Chicken. Fine. But the last *3* weeks out of 4 they have "run out" of the chickens by early afternoon, always claiming "the shipment" didn't arrive, or was short..., or something else. You get the idea. But YESTERDAY (a Thursday) I go in again, and *this time* the ENTIRE THURSDAY SPECIAL is, without warning, *DISCONTINUED*. But plenty of chickens THIS time, but for $9 now!? This is extremely poor, lazy service by the store. I know promotions can end, but that is NO EXCUSE for *zero* signage or warning of same. And this is just ONE MORE of a whole, long *SERIES* of crappy treatment by this store toward it's customers; despite many of them (including me) that have had family shop here for over 50 years!!! Hell, my own *mother* used to work here with her sister, back in the days when it was DeFalco's and Louie DeFalco himself was on-site. Back then, it was a *real* neighborhood, family-oriented supermarket we were proud of! But, wow..., how things have (sadly) changed. AVOID this place unless you have no better options; and there are *plenty* of better options than giving this sham operation your hard-earned money. Plus, they over-charge on items *routinely*!? I usually don't leave a lot of reviews, but it's overdue for this store. It warrants only one star because this particular Ralph's grocery store has unfortunately gone downhill in the recent years. Many years ago, it used to resemble more of a boutique style small grocery store, but now looks very low end. They tore the flooring off, and polished the concrete which gives it an unfinished and dirty look. Not up to the previous Ralph's standard. Furthermore, some of the cashiers are beyond unfriendly and rude. I realize it's difficult to work with the public, but if one is going to, they ought to be more professional. I typically don't bring this sensitive subject up, but it's necessary. A couple of them definitely act prejudiced toward caucasians. For anyone who shops at this store, probably understand who I'm referring to. They need to be terminated! I would highly suggest that the manager give better attention and training to their employees' behavior and customer service. read more

This store have the thickest people working for them. Restrooms are hidden away behind pharmacy and not clearly signed. Went to check out to ask a guy who told me where they were. Ralph's is a convenient neighborhood grocery store with excellent customer service and self check out machines. The store is clean, organized with a floral department that has many choices, also a deli and Starbucks station. The vegetables and fruit are fresh quality and with some organic options, sometimes they have markdowns on organic milk at great prices and day old bread on sale. This store is smaller and parking is limited but since everyone is in-out of the store there is always enough spaces to park. read more

This store is really convenient down by the airport at the corner of Rosecrans and Nimitz. It's not a really large store, but has the essentials as any neighborhood grocery store. Starbucks and deli inside. What's great about it mostly is that it's open 24 hours. On the downside is that because of space, it feels really cramped with smaller aisles. It gets really tight when they're re-stocking the shelves at night and have the pallets with supplies in the aisles waiting to go onto the shelves. Makes it difficult to get around, but honestly, I'm not doing heavy weekly shopping after midnight anymore (used to do that in the younger days) :-) Anyway, staff is always friendly and welcoming. Parking is pretty easy and they have a gas station right across the street with fairly reasonable prices. If you haven't registered for their gas points program, it's worth it! I appreciate that this Ralph's has a small town grocery feel. The produce and vegetables are always immaculate and the deli does a fantastic job. A Starbucks is always a bonus, and I find that the checkers here are incredibly friendly. The two areas I would love to see improved are the meat counter and the parking lot. I know it's Pt Loma and West of 5, but the layout itself needs a study on efficiency. As far as the meat, the supply and quality are not the best, but overall a great spot. read more

Before moving my daughter into her dorm, we stopped here to get items she needs. Parking stalls were small but our suburban fit so we were fine. Went in and started down the aisles. With COVID, and social distancing, it's quite difficult to do so in these narrow aisles. When we would enter an aisle to look for an item, some would enter on one end and other person at the other end also to look for their item, we felt trapped and felt we couldn't get out. That happened a few times. They had all that we came to get from her list of needs but I think more can be down to make the aisles a bit wider for comfortable shopping experience read more

This location is not that great but they do carry items on sale. First getting inside to park is a zoo. Really no space to maneuver when driving in to park. Madness! Parking literally sucks. Be careful! Cars speed in here! As we walked inside, aisles seem tight. For some reason this store is smaller than other Ralph's I have been to. However lots of grocery items are on sale. Good deals and shelves are fully stocked. The clearance rack was not great. Not much to choose from. Very limited on clearance items. I have been to other Ralph's where selection is bigger. Once at the register, there was only one line open. This place wasn't too busy either. I honestly think I won't return here. Can you imagine what it's like on the weekends here? The grocery store is great. I love that it's open 24 hours, and the customer service is great. There's even a Starbucks in here. The only complaints I have are that the lanes are very narrow, and the store is small so the selection is small and the quantity of items is sometimes low. It would have been nice for this to be a two-story store. As for the gas station...Good prices and a small convenience store, and open 24 hours - great qualities for a gas station! BUT...the car lanes are SUPER narrow so if you have a bigger car, poor turning radius, or just ok driving skills, you are likely to scuff your car in this station! read more

It's a small and decent Ralphs right in heart of Point Loma. This location used to be a Vons, until the moved into Liberty Station. The staff at This Ralph's has always been friendly to me. The parking lot is small however it seems most customers come in from walking nearby, so I have never had an issue with finding a spot to park. While the store is small it will have everything you need. Just beware of the narrow isles and pay attention to your trolley cart so you don't bump into each other while shopping (so if my only complaint is distracted shoppers, I think I am doing okay.) read more

The staff here is very sweet and friendly. They also are always well staffed, there's never been a time I couldn't find someone almost immediately when in need of something. They have a salad bar which I haven't tried, but looks quite good. This store is a little more pricey than others but that's why having a Ralph's card is good. read more

When I used to work nearby, I was thrilled to see a grocery store come back to this location after Vons' departure a few years before... The employees were nice and helpful, and it was great to have an easy place to stop on the way in to work, being able to park right near the entrance and get in and out quickly. I stopped at Ralphs recently on the way to my stepmom's house since she asked me to pick up a few things. It was in the middle of the day, so much busier... the parking lot was a bit of a challenge. Also, I was surprised to see that due to the fact this is a really small store, off-brand items were limited so I spent more than expected. Overall, I like this Ralphs okay, just don't love it. If I don't feel like dealing with crowds at Vons at Liberty Station, it's a viable option. read more

I went to get a cake from the bakery and the pics attached were the result. I had NO IDEA that the pic I gave would come out like this. I wish I was told "hey it might not come out good from this pic" and I wouldve done something different. But even if the pic wasn't there.... the writing looks horrible. I dont expect something gourmet from a $15 cake but dang... why does the writing look done by a 5 year old? The lady was nice but attention to detail is seriously not there. At all. I didn't gave the heart to say anything and im kicking myself for it now. Called the manager and they said to take the cake back. WHY take a CAKE back??? It's food! You're just going to throw it away. These pics are clear as day that it looks awful. It got worse in the car. Plus was given it in a box that was obviously WAY TOO BIG for the cake. And it messed it up even more. Like come on... im a nice person but common sense is clearly lacking from that department. Birthdays are a big sentimental day to a lot of people and giving people a crappy thing for a sentimental day is not great. It feels horrible. I live far away from this ralphs and I stopped by on way home from work but that was a huge mistake. I went to albertsons instead and they're doing a much better job. I'm not going to drive a crappy cake all the way back to the store. If I could've just shown pics and got my money back that would've been better. It's so upsetting... nice lady. Horrible job.
