I am always drawn into fabric stores while on a quest to secure fabric for my supremely artistic twin sister. I am not a quilter/crafter/sewer by any means. My twin sister has not met a fabric store she hasn't fallen in love with. So, for her, I went to the shop with no intention of purchasing material. I sent her photos of material. Next thing you know....one hour later... three large bags of material and $200 later, I escaped. Needless to say, my twin was pleased. Her particular favorites included the fabric with sewing cats and the Wisconsin-outdoor-printed fabrics. The Sewing Basket seems to be a community favorite- a gathering spot and a place that offers classes. The owner was very friendly and accommodating.

One day though, one day... The staff prefer to handle the bolts, so if you need a yard or two of anything, please get them to help. This isn't Wal-Mart. Additionally, they will cut sample swatches of almost any fabric on display. The staff on hand are not pushy, and they are knowledgeable in what they sell. They also offer home consultations if you just can decide on which pattern to select for curtains. What's more is that they offer upholstery and window treatment services! Getting here is easy, and there is a private parking lot available. When you're done, it's easy to just hop over to Mayfair for more shopping.

I was a little nervous handing over my furniture considering its age and my history with it but within a couple weeks I got my furniture back looking gorgeous and brand new without any problems whatsoever. Definitely do not recommend working with Calico!…read moreThroughout the process (3 full months) they did not order fabric samples (after numerous times asking), once they received the chairs they charged us an additional $650 for foam that was not included in the original estimate, and once we got the final product the legs of the chairs were scraped and scratched (after we refinished ourselves because they wanted to charge $1,000). The staff continuously did not understand why were frustrated and in the end told us they would not give any more money back. The worst customer service and final product. I would recommend going with any other company.

The triple digit cost per yard quickly had me circling to the more budget-friendly line of fabrics that were also beautiful. I was impressed with how well they were able to offer suggestions and assist in the decision making. While attending a quit show at the Washington County Fairgrounds in West Bend I saw a booth with a Baby Lock machine on display. Speaking with person manning the booth I learned more about the services offered at KK Sew and Vac. In need of a machine cleaning on my Evolve and Espire machines a family member was able to take me and my machines to the West Bend store. At the age of 87 my physician told me to surrender my license to drive due to medical reasons. I was devastated that my wings have been clipped! I live in a senior facility. In addition to great service, I found the bonus of fabrics and multiple sundry items for sale.
