I have been going to Patched Works since I moved here about five years ago. They always have a wonderful selection! The sale room always has some thing that I just need to buy, and they have a great selection of pre-cuts, fat quarters, and half yard cuts. There are a ton of batiks, Grunge, Kona, baby, panels, Kaffe, Tula Pink, modern, Minky, and other types of fabric. The shop is organized by type/style of fabric, and the loyalty program and sales are really great. Julie, the owner, is active on social media with sneak peeks and instructional videos, which has been nice during the pandemic. If you're looking for a quilt store, this is a great one! read more

This is a wonderful fabric store. They have a huge selection of beautiful patterns. All the patterns I looked at were 100% cotton. I've also purchased fabric online through their website. Very fast shipping. My material arrived within two days of ordering. Also, the staff is very friendly. I ordered the wrong fabric online, and the return was easy. The 4 staff members were very pleasant to my Mother in Law and my husband and I even though we came in just an hour before closing on a holiday weekend. Both my MIL and I were shopping for 1/4 and 1/8 yard cuts. They made a kind of assembly line and one scanned and one cut and one rang us up. I love this quilt shop and always stop in when I am in the area. But I do have to say some of the staff are not very friendly. In particular, one gal who seems to have been there many years is snooty and doesn't say hello. She looks you straight in the eye but no greeting. Snooty business!! Stopped here today on a whim after running errands to get paint as we are in the process of remodeling our basement. I'm wearing my painting jeans (with dried paint on them) and tennis shoes, as I wasn't planning on going anywhere but the paint store, however, I decided on a whim to stop and check out their fabric selection as we drove by. My husband is wearing his workout attire as he just got back from the WAC before we decided to run errands. The staff, particularly a youngish woman, wouldn't even acknowledge us after I noticed her looking me up and down... obviously my attire wasn't to her satisfaction, but this isn't my usual attire and I'm still a customer and the fact is there's nothing "inappropriate" about my attire. My husband and I then walk to another area of the store to peruse the fabric selection and there's another customer in that area, also perusing fabric alongside us. The aforementioned employee walked right past me and my husband and went straight up to the other customer asking if she needs help with anything, and again, made no attempt to even so much as acknowledge us. Rude. I guess you don't deserve to be treated with decency and respect if you aren't dressed the part. What a snooty operation!! Too bad. I'm an official fabric hoarder and my husband makes six figures a year. Due to your obvious lack of integrity and blatant disrespect, you just lost a potential customer! I'll preface this: I am not a quilter. But, I like crafts in general and am in an intro quilting class (elsewhere). I stopped in here to get some fabric & advice about yardage for my class project. The women working that day were super helpful in navigating their fabric selection, and helping me select options for my first quilt project. They weren't judgey that I'm taking my class elsewhere, but did share that they have a lot of classes throughout the month (which sound reasonable & interesting for the future!) I think it is perhaps a little pricier than Joann's (mostly because I always use coupons there) but this is a much larger selection of cotton fabrics, especially with solid options....not to mention a very helpful & friendly staff. read more

Hands down, the best quilt store in Southeast Wisconsin. Best selection of fabric. You can really tell that Julie (the owner) curates the fabric selection to make sure that there is something for everyone. The selection of batiks is phenomenal, and the novelty fabric will be sure to find something for everyone. Plenty of great ideas to keep quilters of all levels inspired. Their quilting service is also top notch with plenty of patterns from which to choose. I have always found the staff to be very helpful and informative.
