I'd gotten a pedicure and refill with broken nail, the pedicures did not let my feet soak, she jumped right into doing my feet, and was cutting me with her cuticle cutter, too many coats of gel polish. The person Lisa doing my nails also did what she wanted to do, letting to many little things distract her. I found hair in my nail polish when nails were done. Today I wanted a natural almond shaped nail look and Kim nailed it right on the dot!! I don't usually post reviews but I've been seeing Kim throughout my school here in Boston and am sad to be moving back to the west coast to find a new nail tech. The shape of the nail is exactly what I wanted and she makes sure it's even/ symmetrical. She never makes it too bulky and it looks like the extension is part of my real nail which is hard to find with techs! She also mixes the natural nude colors to get the perfect shade. If Kim isn't available I usually would sit and wait for her no matter how long it takes, but I normally book an appointment with her. She also stays later past closing to give you her best work too. Hello, I was in Back Bay and the worst pedicure ever! Instead of 35 min for 35$ only 25 min. first my feet got nearly boiled in much too hot water and after that hardly anything done, no skin scrubbing on the feet, nails were cut already so only washing, a little skin cutting on the toes, creaming including 5 min massage and good bye. This was my first time visiting and I can safely say I don't see myself returning. The nails are misshapen, different lengths, very lumpy, and the technician seemed to be inexperienced with chrome powder despite agreeing to the design. My friend was waiting with her nails soaking in acetone for over an hour, and also was not 100% satisfied with her results. Lastly, the tools were not sanitized between clients. The quality of the nails you receive seems to be dependent on the technician. I had high hopes and I feel bad leaving this review because the staff were so nice. read more

I don't get my nails done very often so I don't know if I'm being unreasonable, but I was very disappointed. I got a gel manicure which was very nice until I asked for the design which was a thin line in the style of a reverse French manicure. Attached is a picture of the inspiration (with a silver line), compared to mine (which I asked for in gold). I think the difference is self-explanatory. I asked her to leave a gap like in the inspiration photo, but her line was so thick that it looked even worse with a gap so I just accepted what she did and decided I'd take it off when I got home. I would have asked her to remove it or just stop but she was impatient when I was picking out my colors and when I was hesitant about her line work, so I just decided that I wanted it over with. I'm going home to take it off immediately. I wish she would have just told me she couldn't do it. read more

I have been here twice. The first time here was fine. Gel mani with no frills, but prices were reasonable. Second time in I came in for gel mani and gel pedi. The woman who did my pedi used a cheese grater on my heels to remove the callous. This was ok, but she grated so hard that she left my heel bleeding. She then scrubbed my entire heel, despite the fact I had an opened wound. My heel is still sore, swollen and red a week later (see photo). I literally got a tetanus shot because I was worried about infection. For the mani, she asked if I wanted dip instead of gel. I agreed, because I'm up to try a new product. It was okay until she literally dipped my fingers in the powder. So unsanitary. She also skipped cleaning my nail beds and cuticles. The dip got so close to my cuticles that I had to cut it back myself when I got home. Also she refused to clean the dip under my fingernails. Will not be returning. read more

I tried this place several times. At first, I had overall good experiences with just plain gel Then, I was testing out styles for my wedding nails, and tried the gel-x. Twice, I went in and the tech who was removing the old nails (that I had done at this salon) asked me where I had gotten my nails done with a negative connotation (as if she thought it was done poorly). I brushed it off the first time, but it happened the NEXT time I went in as well, with a different technician! That was a red flag. Then, the last time I went there, I asked to have the gel-x removed and it was SO. PAINFUL. It was not a professional job whatsoever--I could've done it myself the way she was removing them. And my nails were so damaged, thin and brittle. I haven't been back, and have not had the same issue with removal when going to other salons. read more

Decided to treat myself and booked an appointment for a gel manicure for Saturday morning right when they opened. I arrived on time, and they were welcoming and had me choose a color. I didn't realize how sheer the color I chose was, so the manicurist went and got similar color choices for me, which I appreciated. The manicure itself was painless and she did a great job. It was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised when she massaged my hands after. A week later, my nails haven't chipped. Great place for dip powder manicures and Dazzle dry pedicures. I can book the day of and still find an appointment because they have a really large staff. I also recently got my legs waxed here, which was great. Someone recommended this salon to me because it was closer to where I live compared to where I usually go. Unfortunately, I would rather make the hour commute to get my nails done somewhere else than come back here. It took 2 hours for the woman to do my dips with tips and they came out horrible. I have never had such bumpy dip. Also, after she was done putting on the dip, she put gel polish on my nails and put my nails under the light??? that is not dip. Unsanitary. They use the same instruments for different clients without sanitizing. The mani/pedi is really low quality. I've never had my nails chip so fast :/. The nail dryer doesn't actually blow air, so there's no way to dry your nails except to let them air dry, which takes a long time. When I asked if they had another dryer, they said no, the owner knows it doesn't work and won't fix it. read more

I had a great experience at My Nail Salon! Tanya was really welcoming when she greeted my friends and me and she gave me advice on the design and color I was looking for. She tried her best to seat my friends and me next to each other. My did a great job on my nails and kept me comfortable for my first time trying acrylics! She and the other staff were great to talk to and My worked with me for almost 2 hours! My even stayed late to finish my nails up and even so generously offered to drive my friend and I back to our hotel as it was pouring rain, which we took up. I really hate writing bad reviews because I know how hurtful it can be to a business. But I've been giving this local chain my hard earned $$ since I was 15, taking the 23 bus from Dorchester, the 1 from Dudley and walking to their tremont location to see my girl Kim. I live in the south end now & I'm closest to the West Rutland shop so I called this am to see if there was an opening for a pedi & to fix a broken dip nail. I was told to come right away. The pedicure was phenomenal then another tech whose mood is as flip floppy as New England weather was assigned to me. She immediate takes cuticle clippers & starts ripping @ my nail, tearing off most of the top layer. I politely asked if she could not and she gave some nonsensical excuse then wrapped my nail and got up and walked away. I'm listening to music and I know it takes a while to dissolve the powder but 5 mins later she's giving someone else a pedicure!!! I ask who will be doing my nails & she's the only one "available" who knows how to do dip. Here's the thing: (1) maybe she assumed I wasn't going to pay for the repair -- except even when they insist the repair is free I tip them generously. (2) Are you literally giving me an attitude for a service I'm paying you for? I asked who would be doing my nails and was told I'd have to wait because she was with a client -- excuse me, we're both clients. If when u called she wasn't available I would've stayed home. So what happened? The receptionist started to do my nails and I coached her through cutting the sides off to achieve the almond shape -- she didn't realize she had my skin and almost cut a chunk off of my finger. I had an accident here earlier in the year that involved my eye, super glue & the BMC ER & I have them another chance. Getting your nails done is hit a chore. It's an expensive, luxury service. This was not relaxing & not cheap. I got here at noon. It's 1:47 & I'm not yet done -- for a pedi & broken nail. Sadly, I work in the service industry so I will still tip 20% because people have children to feed but this was sad. read more

I'm a bit disappointed with my pedicure. I chose this place because they had the cheapest pedicures I could find ($35), which now I can see why they're cheaper. They accept walk ins, and there was no wait. There were no customers in the front, only a couple in the back that I couldn't even see. The nail techs were hanging around so it wasn't like there was a rush but my tech went really fast. I didn't even get to enjoy my pedicure. She clipped my toe nails and filed them unevenly. The entire process was just rushed, which is probably why the end result is sub par. I most likely won't be coming back here. read more

I've been going to My Nail Salon for many many months now. Everyone there is super lovely, helpful and skilled. For example, today I decided to get my nails done very last minute. I called them and Tina (who's a rockstar) fit me in, took my picture request of tip only colored nails happily, with the help of another staff member found all the colors in a matter of minutes and 35-40mins later this is what they looked like. I was in town for a wedding and in need of a manicure and pedicure. This place was right next to my Airbnb so it seemed like the fast and easy choice. The salon is in a weird little corner so there isn't a ton of room for pedicure chairs so you can't have both done at the same time, which wasn't an issue for me. It's not clean. Like really not clean. The autoclave had stuff on top of it and was blocked by a rack of polish so how they actually clean their tools and make them appear in autoclave bags I am not sure. I am pretty sure my pedicurist used old gloves too because they were covered in polish. The floors and walls are gross and dirty looking like it hasn't been cleaned in like 10 years. There were tools hanging in the stained glass window that separates the back and the front of the shop. My manicure experience was fine. No frills, but I am not one for extra massaging or scrubbing. Needless to say, it started wearing off on day two. So minus some points for longevity. My pedicure was perhaps the worst I've ever gotten. The footbaths look FILTHY and the chairs are worn out and covered in a weird gray film (not like an intentional film either). They put blue dye in the water too...for what reason I don't know but you're basically simmering in what looks like an old time-y barbershop comb holder. Gross. The pedicurist cut my cuticles with vigor. So much so my pinky toe bled for about 2 minutes and she had to interrupt the pedi to stop my toe from bleeding. Then she proceeded to clip into my skin on my big toe and middle toe. I couldn't wear the shoes I bought for the wedding because they rubbed on my raw skin. The worst part was when I tipped her she gave me a look of disgust like I wasn't giving her enough. It was because the singles were atop the $5 bill below. It was a pretty bad experience. read more

By far the worst manicure I have ever received. I walked out of there with bright red cuticles, nails of all different lengths, and the polish wasn't even put on well. I should have done my own nails at home. I had remains of a dip manicure on my nails that I needed to get taken off - the woman here RIPPED of each piece of dip nail polish with her own fingernails. No soaking or nail polish remover, it was extremely painful and I had to pull back my hands a few times because of the pain (I know, I should've gotten up and left in this moment) This place is also NOT sanitary. The pieces to the buffer machine were stored in an old container of a 24 piece Disney puzzle. Do not go here! Go to Miniluxe if you're looking for a clean, reliable experience. This place is terrible! *UPDATE* 10 days later. This place absolutely destroyed my nails. They are paper thin and very weak right now. No to mention, are extremely torn apart from the "manicurist" at this place ripping off the dip manicure I had previously. I'm embarrassed I payed to go here. read more
