By far *THE* best massage I've had in my life. Nancy takes pride in her work and it shows. Luckily I was able to make a same day appt and when I got there she greeted me and asked about my problems areas. Once the massage started, she did a kind of body scan and she worked on all my tense areas. It was a deep tissue massage that definitely hurt but was very worth it. She made sure to ask if the pressure was okay each time it got intense and I told her yes (I can handle pain), I'm sure that if I asked to go softer she would but I was just letting her do her thing and trusting the process. I wanted to see what it was like the first time since I'll be returning for more sessions. This massage was nothing like the "regular" massage you get at one of those massage parlors where they have a routine and go about the appointment. Nancy took the time to focus on areas that I didn't even know needed to be worked on and I felt like complete jelly afterwards. She even did some cupping (my first time) and used this vibrating massage pad (heaven), my nose got stuffed halfway through and she put on some eucalyptus oil to open up my airways (very thoughtful). Nancy seems very intuitive to what your body needs so I'm sure that each massage she gives is going to be individualized to your body. She was also very informative about aftercare and what my body will be experiencing the following days and she was right. I got the massage on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday I was sore and felt bruised but today I feel completely fine and I'm ready to go back lol. Within the first 10 minutes of the massage I knew I was a lifelong client. Immediately after I left I was raving to all my friends about her and hopefully they'll be visiting soon. Feeling the weight of the world on my shoulders I decided that I am entitled to one hour to myself. Due to stress and other things that's all I can afford right now. Just one hour. I looked at other massage spas and decided this place was close enough and the reviews were good. So today I decided to call. I talked to Nancy and we scheduled 4:30. Now I really didn't know what to expect. Nancy greeted me, we chatted a bit (lovely lady) and I told her that my hip is bothering me and I have tension on my shoulder. Oh my gah! Not what I expected. She worked on my knots, which by the way was my entire body. She kneaded and rubbed and pushed and pulled. She took her time and really worked on me. I have to say she helped me more than any doctor or physical therapist out there. I cried for joy when I left. The world no longer sat on my shoulders. Nancy is an angel with strong fingers. Warning! These photos are not pretty!!! I've thought about this review for about a year now. Initially I was in denial that anyone else but me was at fault for what occurred, and then I was angry. In between these two phases was pain. Now I am resigned but I feel like it is my duty to the public to warn everyone about the dangers of coming here. January 7, 2018 I came to this location for a massage. My masseuse's name was Chris and he seemed like a nice guy. I had absolutely no complaints until we got to the hot stone phase of the massage. I will admit right away that I have very sensitive skin. My skin, even on my hands, does not handle heat well at all. I knew this going in to the hot stone phase, and I expected the stones to feel hot to me and I blindly accepted that the masseuse would know how hot was too hot. The problem was, he didn't, and I didn't realize how badly I was getting burned. Immediately after the massage was finished, I complained to my boyfriend how hot the stones were, and he lifted up my dress to see and was shocked to see that I already had blisters forming. He complained to his masseuse, who then found mine, and we showed him my lower back. Chris immediately said that I came in with those and then he tried to convince us that they were mosquito bites. My boyfriend's masseuse looked pretty shocked and was in disbelief but didn't intervene further. I was starting to feel some pain in my back and wanted to leave there as quickly as possible. I took the first photo once we got back, and you can definitely see the blisters were starting to grow. It was a painful and sleepless night, not being able to lay on my back at all, and dealing with the delicate balance of not smashing the blisters. I called My Oasis Spa the next day, and spoke to someone named Justin. Justin seemed very nice and concerned and gave me an email address to send photos to, which I immediately did. Justin said he would show the manager (possibly owner),Nancy, the photos and follow up with me. He mentioned that he would of course like to compensate me somehow for my pain and troubles. Except I never heard another word from Justin or Nancy. No one had the decency to call me, email me, or check in on me. It's like they wanted to forget that it ever happened. I've been pretty angry about this for a long time. Considered small claims, etc. But I would really just like to warn everyone to AVOID THIS PLACE. I was having some lower back pain and came to see Nancy. I was not only pleased by the professionalism but the knowledge as well. Nancy was able to find the issue with my lower back, relieve some of the pain there but she worked down the glute muscles and found that my IT bands were both extremely tight. This is what caught me off guard because most massages I've gotten have indicated "hamstrings or quads" when talking about my leg pains and Nancy showed she was well educated in the muscle groups and human anatomy. Received a Groupon as a birthday gift and brought my hubby along as we both needed to relax. Here is my breakdown of our experience. Appointment: we did run into some issues getting an appointment. It took a few calls to get a hold of somebody. When I finally spoke with somebody I thought we were booked only to find out 2 days before the appointment that no appointment has been made. Justin was great, he helped us fix this issue and we were able to reschedule for an appointment. Our Groupon expired by then but Justin still honored it! Location: The building is a little bungalow located on a big street next to a dental office. We drove past it twice before finding it. Parking: parking spaces available in the back lot. Interior: the place is cute and relaxing on the inside. The music is a little loud and I found the air freshener a little too overwhelming but overall it was not bad. The air conditioning was freezing, I was pretty cold during the massage and it was hard to relax. Luckily the masseuse's hands were warm and that saved me . Facial: I enjoyed the facial. The products they use were okay, not amazing but it did leave my skin nice and soft. Massage: the massage was great! Wish the rocks were hotter since I was freezing but the massuse did a great job focusing on my problem areas and getting the knots out. My husband usually gets the full body pressure point type of massages so he was a little disappointed. Price: We did have to pay a tax on top of the Groupon price. $7 each person. I really loved my experience here. I noticed one review said it was hard to get in touch and no one was there when they went. I didn't have that problem, since I live right down the street so I just walked in one day and it happened to be open. Nancy gave me what I assume was her business cell during that visit and she always answers that phone, so I've never had a problem with making an appointment. What I really like about this place is Nancy is really practiced in several forms of massage. She does cupping, hot rocks, quantum touch and traditional massage, and she mixes it up depending on what you need that day, and throws in some stretching too so it's a bit chiropractic for deeper pain and tightness. I had a chiropractic appointment go wrong several years back so I get a lot of deep muscle pain so I really look for a deeper more thorough massage and Nancy is perfect for that! I'm sure she can do a lighter massage too if that's your preference but I've never asked her to do that. If I'm really tight she has thrown in some hot rocks at what I think is no extra charge. She just looks at what you need and adjusts her massage from there which I appreciate. I had never tried cupping before she recommended it but it loosened up a lot of my chest tightness which also reduced a lot of my anxiety and heightened blood pressure. All in all, this place has been my favorite massage studio by far that has catered to my unique needs and really helped with my own physical and even psychological ailments. GREAT! Totally worth it! My husband has been talking about how good Nancy deep tissue massages were but I never had visit. Unfortunately I pulled a muscle from working out and had to do something right away due to the pain being unbearable. You know the saying, "God works in Mysterious Ways?" I think that's exactly what happened here. I have been struggling with Mental Health, and Rheumatoid Arthritis for 10 yrs plus, now.. I drive thru Beverly Blvd, daily, never get the light at the intersection of Magnolia and Beverly, where this Spa is located. Yesterday, that light was red, and it was a long red light. I happen to stretch my neck, turn and see SPA and the phone number. I quickly grabbed my phone, entered the numbers, and the phone rang. Light turned green and a woman answers. She said her name was Nancy. I asked what kind of spa, this place was, and what kind of therapy, does she provide. She explained to me that she has been in this business for over 20 years, and at this location for 10 yrs. Studying to be an MD, has 1 more class (year) left.. Nancy mentioned she clears your energy, does Reiki, cupping and different massages, depending on what you need. I interrupted her and said, BOOK ME!! She had an appointment for the next day, at 11am. We hung up, and I couldn't wait for the morning to come. I woke up early, got ready and went straight over there. Nancy works alone now, due to covid, so she keeps her door locked. You have to call ahead of time, so she can be ready for you. I walked in, she had just finished with 1 client. I noticed he looked so relaxed, I thought.. I wanna be like him. I waited for Nancy to sanitize the room, and I walked in. She asked me what was bothering me, I gave a super brief description, because I couldn't wait to get massaged.. She had me undress down to my undies, gave me a paper robe to wear. She walked back in and We stood in a very peaceful, low lit room. She began to say some words and move her hands across my body. She kept telling me to breathe deeply.. about 2 minutes later, I started crying. I didn't understand why. I walked in there so happy and excited, but these tears, I could not stop. Nancy told me, it's the negative energy inside of me, and it's coming out. She did this a few minutes, then layed me on the table/ bed. It was super soft and comfortable. I found some really thoughtful reviews on yelp and decided I should give this place a try. My work is in Uptown Whittier and it is very close to My Oasis Spa. So why not?? I called and scheduled an appointment and was able to get in that day ! So I went and I was amazed I mean it isn't a fancy place but is is pretty good and reasonable. I got a full body massage and that just made me at ease. I went for my 2nd appt. this time with Don. He was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! LIKE WOW! I'm IN LOVE! He asked me if I wanted him to massage my gluts (I think he refereed to it as "sculpting") I found myself saying "sure" before processing the question. Sure it was a bit awkward but DAM let me say he kicks a$$ (no pun intended). He really worked those muscles! I couldn't wait for him to work on my back, which is where I carry most of my stress. This place is ridiculous on customerserive and holding an appointment. I called a month ago to make an appointment and they noted this was for a birthday celebration. They call me a day before to confirm my appointment then tell me how stressed they are but still kept my appointment. Along with the guy saying they only have 2ppl to work on our party of 4. I said we will have to make due since its so late notice. The guy then said well I have to call you back. I said its a birthdys celebration we schduled a month ago no reply. So I called the spa directly to see what was going on, that way we dont waste anymore gas or time. The owner who was there said she's still there figuring things out in an angry tone then said just reschedule we told that you yesterday! What do you want!? This was a dreadful experience for many reasons... DO NOT BY THE GROUPON!!!!!! 1. I asked to use the restroom to pen my hair up at the outset of appointment. (Scheduled for 10am) I found that the toilet had old remnants and splatters of feces on the back of the toilet. It's 10am, we were the first appointment, so why there was hard stained remnants on the back of the toilet at that time tells me they hadn't cleaned it for a while!!! I hovered over the toilet and went to the sink to wash my hands... 2. There were straggly short hairs in and behind the sink like someone had been shaving their beard. Gross... 3. As I went to leave out the bathroom I found cob webs lingering over the door and floating along the tops of the walls.... I hadn't even gotten any services yet!!!! Sheesh!!! Myself and 2 friends were there for the girls Groupon and so we were given 1/2 hour facials and hour massages. The 1/2 hour facial was subpar (very cheap products used, I experienced a breakout the day after the facial, I get facials often and I don't get break outs so I knew the products had to be cheap). The massages were ok. The employees were well meaning, but they all seemed fresh out of school in my opinion. They still could refine their skills. I felt uncomfortable with my feet touching the floor or laying under the sheet. It was quite a ruckus with the owner coming in and talking loudly and giving feedback to staff. The music was horrible, loud banjos and then it switched to jazz fest west... I guess they don't have soundscapes or satellite radio where you can listen to "Spa" music. On top of all of this we were charged a 37 dollar tax on top of the Groupon rate. This has NEVER happened to me before! I use spa Groupons often. So needless to say I won't be back. It felt like a sleazy massage studio... I'm sorry... not sorry... I love spa's of all types, Korean day spa's to Peninsula Hotel Spa... I'm about a good experience! Don't go here, even for the Groupon deal I went for: 90 minute hot stone massage & facial package for $69 - it was too good to be true - this was the worst experience I've had at a spa. I went in a week ago to make my appt. and there were no customers (all treatment room doors were wide open). The only person was the owner sitting behind the front desk. When I walked in form the parking lot, the door had one of those loud beeping alert systems as it's actually the back door - the front door faces Beverly Blvd, where no one is going to enter from since there's no parking or direct foot access from that street. There was also an odd smell that made me think of a mixture of cat urine and a cleaning product of some kind. Still, I scheduled my appointment for my facial to be first and then my massage second. She said that would be fine. 1 week later: I showed up 15 minutes early for my appt., and the owner, dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, was sitting in one of the waiting area customer chairs, picking up paperwork, stapler, and calculator - watching some random cable show on the big screen tv - no other customers or other employees present and all treatment rooms were empty. She handed me the one page sheet to fill out for my massage needs, and then turned the lights off and switched to dimly lit "mood lighting". It was too dark to see the words on the paper. I did my best to complete the form and handed it to her with 10 minutes to spare before my appointment - she then disappeared down the hallway. My appt. time came and went, 5 minutes past, barefoot guy dressed in hospital scrubs walks up and asks if I'm ready for my massage. The owner walks back up from wherever she was and I asked why my massage was now first when she agreed a week ago to schedule the facial first, to which she responds that she likes to plan the facial 2nd so the cleansers/scrubs/etc don't cause irritation when your face is in that U-shaped section of the massage table - why wasn't this part of our conversation a week ago??? I try to be easy going, so I just said ok. Then the guy takes me to the couples massage room (not sure why, since the single room was clearly available due to no other customers in the place) and tells me to leave my underwear on for the massage. I've never been told that, and after being uncomfortable the entire time for my first ever massage 10 years ago because of wearing underwear, I've never done it since. Massage experience: worst ever. there was a blinking color-changing light in the room - not soothing. I clearly circled "moderate" and was provided a DEEP tissue massage, i'm still sore 24 hours later. after doing the back side of my body, he did a cold water back scrub, water was dripping all down my sides, the top of my underwear was soaked. He left the room with my back soaked, and came back with the towel that should have already been in the room, and then cleaned up the scrub & water. At one point while massaging my back he climbed up on the table and I thought I was about to get mounted, but he kept both knees on one side - awkward. From each side of the table he pulled the opposite sides wrist (mine) back behind me, again awkward. While face down & face up, each leg was bent and my foot was placed on top of the other knee - again AWKWARD. When the 50 minutes was up, he said he was going to do a free foot scrub since the owner wasn't ready to perform the facial part of my package. He didn't clean all the foot scrub out from between my toes. He then told me to just stay laying under the sheets as the owner would be right in to perform the facial. I've had several facials, and not one has ever been on a flat massage table. I looked at the clock in the room when he left and it literally took 10 minutes for her to come in and inform me that it would still be a few more minutes before she would be able to perform the facial treatment. I was just done at this point and asked to rescheduled the facial, because I had planned the rest of my afternoon with other errands, and wouldn't have the time for the facial treatment. She said that would be fine. Once I dressed, I walked out to the front desk, where my massage therapist was eating a slice of pizza, and kept doing so while talking with me. On top of everything else that happened, I was then charged tax on the amount I paid for my Groupon. I paid $69 for my Groupon deal, and was charged $6.90 for "tax" by the spa. Really? REALLY?!?!?! I was in awe of this that I simply added a tip amount, signed the receipt, and said I'd call in a day or so to reschedule the facial treatment. I will not go back for the facial treatment - should've heeded the many other bad reviews, as the Groupon deal was not even close to being worth it. I need another massage just to release the tension/stress caused by writing this review. Not sure how this place stays in business. I was given a groupon for Christmas so I decided to call to set up an appointment right away. One day I was calling...and calling..and calling and finally I gave up. A few days later I decided to call in the morning when they first opened and they answered. I asked to set up an appointment either on the weekend or today, Jan 2nd. She told me she was closed on January 2nd (jt was the owner talking). And then 30 seconds later they were all of a sudden open (I heard someone in the backward say they would take my appointment). So She set me up for 12pm. Fast foward a few days... I wake up today and receive a text message from a 562 area code, stating they were the salon and that they had to cancel my appointment today and they would contact me later in the week to reschedule because the spa had been burglarized. So, instead of taking the text message for what it said because I thought it was kind of odd that they would text a customer, I called. The receptionist quickly put me on hold when I told her what I received and then came back on the phone 3 min. later and said no she still has me schedule and to come in. So, I came in for my appointment...the place definitely didn't look burglarized. I show the receptions the text I got and she stated it was definitely not sent from anyone in the building and that the number didn't look familiar (I know it wasn't from anyone I knew because two people knew I was going). Anyways, she had me sign in and a woman took me back to a room and then brought me back to the waiting room because the owner wasn't done with her appointment, and the woman who took me back started to gossip to the receptionist about the owner not being done (totally unprofessional). Then finally, she began my massage and everything was fine, until all of a sudden you can hear literally a group of 4 people gossiping outside the room. I was sitting there trying to relax and I couldn't because they wouldn't stop talking Then the women left the room and left the door wide open while I could hear a male and females talking outside the room. The woman finished the massage and moved on to the facial. I've gotten plenty of facials before and this was literally the WORST one ever. She started by rubbing oil on my face, then the facial mask and then put the steamer on my face. Now how is the steamer supposed to work when I have a thick facial mask on my face? Eventually she took it off and then started to rub my shoulders with an oil. THEN...THEN....I KID YOU NOT......she fell asleep!!!!! I noticed she kept stopping randomly and sitting there...and then would snort like she had a hard time breathing and then started to rub again. She literally did this about 10 times. So I decided to keep my eyes open and I literally saw her nod off and then jerk her head up! I was seriously in SHOCK! And this woman knew I saw her and immediately started to rub my shoulders 100% better. After she was done, she had the nerve to ask if I had any concerns..I just looked at her. She eventually left the room and I got dressed and then went to the front desk where the owner was and of course the woman who was my "therapist" was standing there and the owner said..next time don't buy a Groupon..we charge the same price....there won't be a next time for me lady...sorry. And I hope the owner reads this and see's that her staff falls asleep. read more

I Purchased a Couples package that included a facial and massage on Groupon. I am very happy that I did. I discovered a great place! Tatum did an amazing job with my facial. It was the best I've ever had As for the massage, Henry was very good! He was very attentive to the areas I had indicated I wanted to be worked on, and I left feeling sooo relaxed. My man decided he didn t want a facial, to my surprise, as he announced it once we were in our room, in his grouchy mood, but they were very gracious, and Henry gave him a back scrub instead, which he really enjoyed. His grouchiness subside and he said he really enjoyed his massage, and felt like it relieved his stress. We will definitely return! read more

Went for my birthday with a group of my closest friends and family, & this was paradise. They treated us amazingly. My first spa experience & it was amazing. If you find them on Groupon go ahead & call them & they match your price & take very good care of you. They were so amazing, friendly, & sweet! I'm definitely coming back again. They're super clean & zen. Very relaxing. The masseuses we're amazing & kept checking up on how their pressure was. That's something to appreciate forsure! Alright guys (and gals) So, the best friend and I decided to get a Groupon for her birthday (we're cheap whatever) and stumbled upon this little "oasis" for a massage and facial. We turned to Yelp to see how trustworthy this place was.Yelp, you did us so wrong...... First of all, they tried to cancel on us 20mins before our appts. Their excuse was that they couldn't heat the rocks. Hey man, they're just rocks. It's not rocket science. BTW the way they heat the rocks is in a tub of water. ... I'm no genius but.... Anyways. We figured things out and just pushed our appointments for an hour later, when they could "fix" the rock heater. So usually, you get the option of male/female.. are asked what your preferences are and what you're comfortable with, right? Nah, we didn't get a choice. Not to sound prude but when I'm close to naked I don't want a strange male rubbing my body.. especially if he hasn't even bought me dinner. Also, making a dirty joke while you're giving me a massage and you still haven't bought me dinner= NO. Then comes the facials... My girlfriend and I were both wearing make-up and we're no aestheticians but aren't you supposed to remove your make-up before you have some humidifier open up your pores? Guess not though 'cause that's not what happened. We got some mediocre facials that left us with an aftermath of random pieces of facial masks all over our faces. My skin actually reacted poorly to whatever the lady used and I ended up having super sensitive, chapped skin for the next two days. And for some reason my skin tone became oddly uneven with a slightly green tint. Hm... The cleanliness of the place is also questionable. And the professionalism minimum. Will we be coming back? It has potential; however, there's quite a few things that truly disrupt the whole "spa" experience. I've got to say that the owner, receptionist, and masseuse are extremely friendly. Unfortunately, it's just not what I expected. My experience was not relaxing at all!! Instead, my masseuse kept walking in and out of the room leaving me wondering if I should get up and leave. I heard "the entire time" loud talking and laughing from the other room (seriously?!). Oh wait for it, I also heard loud music that wasn't even relaxing (my ears still hurt). I got a massage, back scrub, and facial. *The massage was a 2/10. *The back scrub was a 0/10 (felt cold, no steam, it's like washing your hands). * The facial was 7/10 (I've gotten hundreds of facials, this was not so bad). Don't get me wrong it has potential!! Here are a few tips: 1. NO talking. 2. Lower the music and make sure it's relaxing music. 3. Don't walk in and out of the room. 4. Don't talk to the client. A simple, "everything ok?" is all that's needed. 5. Warm oil up. 6. Improve back scrub by scrubbing. 7. Keep doing the facials the same way! read more

Oasis Spa in Whittier is joke a total joke. Very unprofessional. I had my appointment for 2 weeks. It was my present to my mom. My mom drove for an hour just for her treat that I had for her. Our appointments were set for 12:30 at 1:10 they tell me that we will not be getting our facials that I paid for in advance. That I will have to reschedule and come back on another day just for the facials. I purchased a package thru groupon that included massage, facial and back scrub. The owner is the only one who does facials and she decided not to come in. WTF! Who does that? Thanks for stressing me out Oasis Spa My options were to come back or get 90 minute massages. I chose the 90 minute massage just so that I never have to come back to this unprofessional so called spa. read more

My wife and I planed to celebrate our anniversary here and pamper ourselves. We arrived for our appointment to only be told we didn't have one. The lady was trying to fit us in when she asked if we were using a Groupon. We said yes, then all of a sudden they were booked. The lady then said, we can reschedule for next week and if we didn't like that then we needed to speak to the owner. We asked to speak to the owner and then told that she wasn't in and we got hung up on. As to why Groupon does business with these people is beyond me! We came here for a couples massage and facial package. My boyfriend has a terrible massage and his masseuse kept asking him questions and talking with the woman doing my facial. Also, another woman kept walking in and arguing with the masseuse about using her creams or something. The massage was very bad and not worth it. The woman doing my facial kept talking and not letting me relax. She complained a lot about groupon and how they take half the money so we need to pay at the spa and not through groupon because they won't get any money. The facial was nothing I couldn't do at home myself and she tried to tell me she could tell I haven't had a facial in a while. I just had one two weeks ago.... She kept waking me up and telling me to look at my skin in the mirror. Not very relaxing. She did the exact same to my boyfriend. After my terrible massage I was left lying on my stomach and my hair all over the place and super uncomfortable. The other employees asked if she would like to turn me over and put the eye mask on and for some reason she said no I could just stay there...FOR 30 MINUTES! Then they forced us to give a tip and called my boyfriend out I from of the people in the waiting room. We did NOT want to leave a tip because the service was so bad. We will not be back. read more
