You may consider three stars a bad rating, but I feel it is fair, and I can't quite give them four stars. My dog, Bo, hates being boarded, period; it's no reflection on any facility. He loves being around people and hates other dogs, so it's just not enjoyable for him. But having relocated to Denver with a dog who doesn't get along with other animals, we haven't been able to find an in-home pet sitter. I have taken Bo to Redstone for vet care, and with this being attached, I tried it out. Even though the facilities aren't anything fancy, there is a vet around if anything goes wrong and the facility is staffed 24/7. That was a plus for me. With Bo not being friendly with any other animals, it can be a bit of a to-do when I drop off or pick up, but the staff is very understanding of that. I have boarded Bo at one other facility in town and they charge extra for a dog that can't go out in a playgroup. It is expensive to board a dog. Because Bo really loves people, I paid extra for individual playtime for several visits. And I stopped doing that, because honestly, I'm not sure the staff is actually fulfilling it. A couple times I have driven by and seen a single dog by itself in a large pen attached to the office. I didn't think much of it until I saw a couple dogs in there, one lying down and the other barking to be let in the office. That is the playtime pen. The dogs were not playing with each other or being played with by staff. Maybe I just drove by at a bad time, but I don't want to pay an extra $15 per day for Bo to be taken out of his indoor/outdoor run and put in a different pen alone for 30 minutes. I can't say I blame the staff for that, they seem to be busy with a lot of animals, but people should get what they pay for. So now I add on the tuck-and-cuddle service, and a staff member will send a text message and picture with your dog, so at least I know someone did go in there and interact with Bo. Bottom line, their prices are okay, and I know Bo is safe when I'm out of town (even if he is unhappy). read more

This place should be called "Can't Guarantee Anything". - We have two female short haired pointers that are always kenneled together with their own run, shared food, water, blankets and chew toys. - Once they are placed in their kennel I would expect that they stay there until we pick them up so no need for collars or leashes right? - Wrong. Every time we pick them up, their collars are chewed up, toys are missing and collars and leashes have been mixed up with other dogs. - How is this possible? Today (December 26th) a man running the front desk at 0700 brought me the wrong dog for starters with missing collars and leashes. - He started to "write down" the items that they misplaced as if I were going to just leave without $100 worth of my items and further more that I would drive all the way back down to retrieve them once you found the time to go look in the one specific kennel they put them in on the drop off date. - I said, "I'm not leaving without them" and so another women went and found the chewed up collar but no Nyla-bones. - They cannot guarantee that you get your specific dog, blankets, toys, leashes or collars back. This place is laughable!!! Just drop your dog off and we'll put it in a cage with none of its stuff until you return from your selfish trip is how this place makes us feel. With this type of service, it should cost $5 per day/ per dog. We love our dogs to much to bring them back here. If this is what we can see, what are we not seeing? We will never come back and we will continue to share our experiences with whomever asks about this kennel. Now we have to go to Pet Smart and buy another $100 worth of gear that was damaged or miss-placed and they have the audacity to put an option on their check out asking if you would like to give a tip. The boarding facility is good, but save yourself some time and a lot of money and find a different dog training facility if you are considering. We took our dog there for day training, received 1 email from the trainer (which was supposed to be daily), and 2 weeks later we got an email saying our dog was still working on the same things she was working on the first day, which were not something we had in mind or were aware of. Apparently, for$200/day she was building a relationship with her trainer and working on her anxiety, which our dog does not have . The trainer left without any notice when we were coming in for our private lesson, so we drove there for nothing. After bringing our concerns to the management and the trainer they acknowledged that they dropped the ball, but refused to refund us since they did work with the dog. To sum it up, extremely frustrating and unprofessional. read more

Update: the shop replied asking why I did not return any calls. I reached out to them several times throughout that day. They promised a call back which they followed through on and I answered. They did offer to bathe my dog after the fact, and suggested I make an appointment with their clinic as well. While this may have been seen as a decent gesture in their eyes, I had no trust in the place to come anywhere near my dog again. "Pretty much unheard of" translates to "has happened before and is a known issue." ****** I wanted to like this place so much. The online reservation system is awesome as well as the available add ons they offer. Unfortunately that's it. I picked up my dog today and when I got home he was lethargic, panting like crazy, and smells awful. I called to question about his stay and they told me he had diarrhea in his pen this morning. I took a closer look and noticed his fur is matted with dirt and feces. It is so dry and stuck on there. I deeply regret bringing him here and can't believe I paid this much to bring home a sad, sick, smelly dog. How do you not give the dog a quick rinse after such a mess? How long has he been covered in his own poop? read more

We have boarded our cat and dog here several times and they take excellent care of them. Our older black lab loves this place. They have nice big indoor/outdoor spaces for dogs and one-on-one or group playtime, your choice. For our cat, they have good sized kitty condos to keep him comfortable while he stays there. I have been bringing my animals to My Pets Place for a couple decades. Most employees are very pleasant, knowledgeable and take great care of animals. My dogs have been getting groomed here their entire lives. When picking up my dog from grooming today, I was shocked to have been billed almost DOUBLE what I normally would be billed. I only asked for bathing and a deep brush out, and BOOM! Double the normal bill. I will tentatively keep boarding here, but will never have grooming services again. Disappointed with the surprise bill. Mostly disappointed in the person who checked me out. Not the normal friendly professional I am used to. Not too rude, just didn't invite discussion upon my surprise. Internet was down, and they couldn't process my payment so she wanted to process through her phone. (Um. NO). I offered to pay tomorrow when their internet was back up (again, very long-term customer). Then a gentleman jumped in (a manager I haven't met before) to push me to write my credit card info down so he could process later (um. Double NO). He finally brought a different payment machine. Overall bad experience. Again, most employees are great, and boarding is great. Just grooming and surprise bill ING is not great. read more

I have boarded both my dogs & cats here on many occasions. I feel very comfortable leaving my pet here. I never have any problems. The prices are reasonable. And it's a great concept that they have a fully equipped vet hospital on their campus too. They also offer baths for the pets as "departure services". They do an excellent job getting my mutt nice & clean. Honestly, those bath prices have gotta be the cheapest in town. Much cheaper than those big box places. I would never go anywhere else nor trust anyone else with my pet other than the professionals down at my pets place. For sure, it's money well spent. read more

Great place for my dog. He has some quirks which they give special attention to. He didn't come home smelling like urine, like some other places I've used in the past, which was also fantastic. The animal hospital is right on site - another big plus, and all of the staff are personable. My only complaint is that they list their business address as their physical address on their website; the two locations are miles apart! I complained twice - once after my first visit, and again after my son was almost misdirected - but they don't really seem to care about sending new customers on wild goose chases. For that sole reason I'm giving them 3 instead of 5 stars. read more

Note- I did not leave my dog here. I was looking for a place to board my pooch over a weekend. Snce this place got such high reviews I took her over to check it out, Quite honestly, I dont understand the glowing remarks. Even ignoring that the pond iis closed for construction this year, the yard is a giant expanse of dry dirt. The cages where the dogs will spend the bulk of their time are tiny to the point where several dogs could not easily turn around and the PVC framed bed took up 75% of the plain concrete floor space. It is nice that they have a large outdoor space, but the space where they spend 22hrs/day is more important. The people may be lovely, but the cages are just way too small. read more

I left my dog with My Pet's Place over this past weekend. I had hoped that this would be a great experience since we take my dog to Restone Animal Hospital and they are huge supporters of the local shelter that I volunteer with. Unfortunately it was one of the worst experiences I have had when boarding a pet. -First, When we dropped our dog off there was no real attempt at customer service. She was one the phone and barely acknowledge that we were there. Once she was off the phone she took his leash from my wife and walked us outside where without another word she walked him back to his kennel. Never gave us an opportunity to ask for him to be given the KONG that we had brought or ask any questions for that matter. -Second, when my wife went to pick our dog up he was limping. When she asked why he was limping they told her he had just woken up and was probably tired. When she got him into the car she noticed that the entire pad on his left hind leg had been torn off and bleeding. When she went back to the office no one knew anything about it. They told her he must have been digging at the door to his kennel and that we would need to call the vet in the morning. No attempt was made to help us initially treat the injury and no apologies were made. -Next, When my wife returned the next day to have our dog looked at she asked to speak to the manager. She tried to express he concern that no one noticed our dogs injury and no attempt was made to help us when we picked him up. The manager made no attempt to apologize for the injury and state that "He trusted what his team said" and eventually cut off my wife saying "I have to get back to work." -Last, the office at Redstone Animal Hospital saw our dog and said his paw was significantly infected and that he would need anti-biotics. I had personally cleaned and treated the wound with antiseptic as soon as he got home and wrapped it with gauze to try and prevent infection. This tells me that the wound was open for some time before we picked him up. Then we were required to pay for the bandages and anti-biotics they prescribed. I don't like to post negative reviews but this experience was terrible. It wasn't the fact that my dog was injured that bothers me, I understand that accidents happen. It was the fact that no one noticed this injury and no attempt was made to treat it while he was under their care. Also, we never received an genuine apology from anyone involved. I strongly recommend you think twice before bringing you pet here. read more

We have boarded our dog here many times. She seems to enjoy it and be happy when we pick her up. It's nice that they offer individual playtime although I have no clue what they do with our dog. I asked once and the person at the desk said they "let the dog tell them what they want" as in if they want to be petted or play with toys? Kinda vague but at least she gets social interaction I guess. If you ask them what they did during the playtime or how the dog was during their stay, the staff member has no clue. We like that our vet is right next door if something happens. Our dog seems to be taken care of well enough and comes home happy. read more

Our dogs developed kennel cough here even thought they're fully vaccinated and when I called to let them know they were extremely nonchalant and said they've had cases in and off and yet they never mentioned this to us. We've always boarded them elsewhere and never dealt with this and will never board them at this place again. I had hoped that the care and staff would be good here even thought the physical environment isn't as nice as where we've gone before but clearly that is not the case. We spent over $750 and now have additional vet bills and expensive medicine we need to give our dogs to treat this. My recommendation - go elsewhere. read more

These folks clearly care about the pets in their care. I took a tour today in preparation for leaving my dog with them in the future for boarding and daycare, and was completely impressed. Clean and spacious, with thought to play groups and dogs with different needs (including a really nice tranquil boarding area for dogs who are fearful or need to be kept calm). This boarding experience cost me over $1,000 because of vet bills and lost PTO hours after boarding them here for 50 hours. The only positive part of this experience was that the online request process was easy. When I dropped off my dogs, I had to wait 45 minutes because my big dog is dog-aggressive and they only have one entrance so I had to wait until the other people checking in left. That's fine, I can wait a reasonable amount of time, but the check-in person kept forgetting why I was there! He kept asking if I needed anything else after I filled out my paperwork and I kept stating I hadn't brought in my dogs yet! I repeated this to him the 3 times he asked in 45 minutes. That was concerning that he couldn't remember that I hadn't brought in my dogs yet while he was checking in other people. Then, when I picked up my dogs (they boarded together), my smaller dog had 4 spots of diarrhea on her--she smelled so bad that we had to roll down all the windows on our drive home! My big dog had diarrhea as soon as we in our house (and he never goes in the house) and it matched the color/smell of diarrhea spots on my small dog. So I called immediately to ask when the diarrhea had started. The check-in person said that my big dog must have gotten sick on the car ride home since he knew nothing about it; when I told him about my small dog having diarrhea ON her when we picked her up, he said no one said anything to him about it. I feel like sickness/diarrhea is something that should be noted and told to the owner on pick-up. My big dog had diarrhea every hour for the next 2 days after picking him up; I took him to the vet to get antibiotics, which finally slowed it down but took a week total to get rid of it. Two days after picking them up, my small dog started having diarrhea every hour that matched the color of my big dog's, so after another vet visit, in all my partner and I missed 3 days of work because we couldn't leave the dogs for more than an hour, as well as losing 3 planned ski days. We dealt with 9 days of diarrhea from just from boarding them for 2 days at My Pet's Place. We had to get antibiotics for her too. In all, both dogs had diarrhea for over a week that was the same bright orange color and they had had a clean stool sample performed the week before boarding since that is a requirement for boarding. I find it worrisome that the staff didn't even know about the big dog's diarrhea, and they also failed to mention that my small dog didn't eat her last two meals until I called back yet again to ask about all the extra food left in our belongings. When I board my dogs at Chatfield Vet, they give me a report card saying whether the dogs ate normally, got sick, etc. I boarded my dogs for over 2 weeks at Chatfield and they both came home healthy and not covered in feces; in just a little over 2 days at My Pet's Place my dogs came home sick and one had feces on her. The worst part is that the check-in guy didn't seem to care and when I called to report all this and ask if any other dogs were sick there, he didn't act like he cared at all and this was all no big deal. I don't plan on returning as I payed more than I do at Chatfield for boarding, not to mention an extra $300 for vet bills afterwards, plus 3 days of PTO, plus 3 ski days lost because we couldn't leave our dogs for more than an hour. This stay easily cost me over $1,000 because of the lost PTO hours and vet bills on top of their charges. If the front desk employee at least acted like he was a bit concerned, this experience wouldn't have felt quite as bad, but he just made everything worse. read more

My dog was limping when I picked her up. Come to find out it was because one of her nails was cut too short. They did call me to let me know she was limping and wanted to know if I wanted her checked out by the vet. But if we could figure it out that quickly (within 30 minutes) why couldn't the staff? I noticed my pug limping when I brought her home. It took a little while to figure out but I realized the cut her middle nail too short and it bled. The next day it was very swollen. I was not so upset about mistake, but upset that they never told me. Tech never cut rest of nails after accident. They charged me for nail cutting when I checked out and never revealed that they hurt my dog. What kind of dog-lover does that? Hurts someone dog and doesn't disclose it? They offered a free visit to the vet where I found out she has a bacterial infection now in her toe and had to go on antibiotics. Not much follow up from kennel. Like they don't even care. read more

Wonderful young people running this kennel and day care! Can't say enough about how good these kids are. They are organized at the front desk and on the telephone, give you a confirmation call a few days beforehand, remind you of any outstanding vaccines needed, etc. I KNOW they keep the runs clean, because my dog comes home and he still smells fresh, not like old poop or urine. These kids deserve SIX stars for their dedication, their love of animals, their knowledge,their energy, and their kindness. I searched 31 kennels over 6 weeks, and this was, hands down, the ONLY one that I would leave my dog at. I drive one hour each way, but it is so worth my peace of mind. Prices are reasonable, one can almost always get a reservation (be mindful of early fill-ups at the holidays), and all in all, it's just a great place. read more

Today I came to pick up our cat after boarding him during a family vacation. He required special care due to his diabetes and I gladly paid for him to have his diabetic food and insulin administered to him twice daily. I had scheduled him to be cared for until 8pm and, as fortune had it, we ended our vacation early and was able to pick him up around noon. My cat was so agitated that I had to pluck him out of the cage scratched and bleeding. They sent me home with his remaining food and I noted that he had a lot more food than he should have. Because of his state of agitation, which is not normal for him, I called to make sure they gave him his breakfast at which time they informed me that they had been giving him his non diabetic cat food and his insulin. When I brought him home, his blood sugar was 50mg/dL. I truly believe that if I had waited to pick him up at 8pm as originally scheduled I would have picked up a dead family member. I will NEVER use their service again. read more

This is the best kennel and daycare I have ever used. I have been taking my two dogs to My Pet's Place for 2 years. I looked at every kennel in the Littleton area and this is by far the best! I moved to downtown Denver a year ago and drive the 45 minute to drop my dogs off multiple times a month- I travel for work. I have been taking my dogs here the past two years and it used to be convenient and excellent care. However, this last time has left me with a lot of concerns. My dogs were there for a long weekend and I requested baths for them when I got back, only one dog was given their bath. One of my dogs also had to receive some veterinarian service that I requested, and these weren't added on to my bill and I had to pay later. When I mentioned the issues to the person calling about the bill, she said staff was new. I wish they could bring back the old staff! While both of these aren't serious, it makes me question the quality of care that my pets are receiving while staying there. I'm glad they do not require any special services, because I would be very worried that would get overlooked or forgotten. I will be finding somewhere else to board my dogs because I want to be able to have the sense of security that my dogs are being well taken care of. read more

I started bringing my rescue to daycare at My Pets Place back in November. I am so amazed by the changes I have seen in him! He has gone from being nervous around people and other dogs to being a social butterfly. I used to have to bribe him to get in the front door and now he goes prancing in with his tail up and wagging! I bring my dog a few times a week and the staff at MPP absolutely love him and treat him like their own dog! I can't wait to see how much more he will grow as he becomes more and more socialized with the staff and dogs at MPP. Thank you!! read more

Be aware..... We chose to stay at "My Pet's Place" to try and save money, as we thought if he stayed there it would only be one night as opposed to three at our regular boarding place, due to the location. As it turned out, we payed almost as much($5 less), for a ONE night stay at this facility, then it would cost for THREE days at our normal facility. How much did it cost for our single dog to stay here for ONE night? $85, let me repeat $85. We came to except the fact that we would have to pay for a fecal exam for him to stay at this facility(although we have NEVER had to have one for him before at any other boarding place, nor at any vet), but the exam was not even complete by the time we picked him up after his stay! What exactly did we pay $30 for??? A fecal exam we don't need, that they didn't even need? We also had to pay another $20 for a Bordetella Vaccine, which he is already up to date in. We are surprised we were not asked to bring them in before allowing him to stay. We are interested in how many other dogs are let in without proof of shots, and are upset that he got a shot he did not need. Furthermore, we did not receive any information when we picked our dog up on how his stay was, or if he ate, let alone a smile or a positive interaction, eye contact, smile etc... The manager seems to care less, and nothing was done to help us out. It's hard to believe they treat pets respectfully, considering our experience. :/ Be aware... Wonderful care for both my English Setters including my 16-year old. Very friendly staff.

My regular boarding place was full over Memorial Day weekend so after reading a few reviews I decided to give this place a try. I was able to get in over the holiday weekend. They sent me a follow up email reminding me of my reservation and called a couple days before with a few reminders of what my dog needed. When I checked my dog in they were super friendly. I was only there a couple days and I was able to get my dog groomed while he was there. They did a fantastic job grooming him (and even got his nails clipped which other groomers have struggled with). My dog came home happy and exhausted which means he had a great time. They have a great group play area, but sadly my dog doesn't get to use it. My dog is dog aggressive but thankfully they have a perfect package that gets him one-on-one time with a person in the morning and afternoon instead of the group play option. The prices are really reasonable here and the process to check-in and out is really easy. The kennels have an indoor and outdoor section so your dog has room to go where he/she wants. Overall my dog had a great experience and I save money over my usual place plus got him groomed which saved me a trip to my groomer. I'll definitely be back the next time I need boarding! read more

I have used this kennel several times and have had nothing but bad experiences. There is only one receptionist at any time and they will often times be away from the front desk for 20-30 minutes at a time, so expect to wait. Their facility is all mud and rocks instead of turf, so my dog got completely muddy, which has never happened at any other daycare. They tried to up-sell me for a bath after my dog got muddy after I was not told that they would be playing in what is basically a mud pit. For the prices they charge, there are definitely much better options in the area for daycare and boarding. read more
