I'm usually all about thrift stores, but I've recently started appreciating a good consignment shop. A coworker told me about this gem that's so close to work, I can easily swing by during lunch or after work. It's dangerously convenient! I scored a Coach bag for 50% off, which was a steal. My latest find was a pair of loafers I'd been on the hunt for, and they were also half off. The selection here is a step up from thrift stores, but still totally budget-friendly. I've picked up some great work outfits, plus jeans and casual stuff, too. The shop is well-organized and easy to browse. It's located on Main Street, between First and College. I love my sisters closet so much!!! I have been going here for years and they are really friendly and welcoming. My mom has traded with them for a long time and loves it. I've gotten one of my favorite fancy dresses ever from them! Also gotten some staple work wear items. There's so many beautiful option for different styles and the prices feel reasonable for what you are getting, cause everything is good quality. I really appreciate that Woodland has a womens clothing consignment shop. My Sisters Closet has a great mix of all styles and sizes which is really awesome. They accept consignments in the afternoons 3 days a week, and it's a pretty fast process, just bring seasonally appropriate clothing in. It's awesome you can get store credit or cash for your resales which is very nice. They typically have certain colored tags that are a percentage off each day as well, so their is always a bargain to be had. I have found the best jewelry and purses, and last time two beautiful sweaters. The owner and her daughter are extremely kind and helpful, stop in a shop you won't be disappointed! read more

I have nothing but love for this great little consignment shop. On most days, I can find a great outfit with great accessories. Usually trendy, updated and in great condition fashion that won't break your back. The shop is clean and well organized (with the exception of their back consignment counter.) I think if they could get shock out on the racks quicker, their sales would go up. This is great shop for women to consign and up-cycle their fashionable closet! The store looked clean and they had nice stuff, according to my mom; But we were never greeted when we walked in. I honestly didn't even know who worked there until a lady walked out from the back. Even then, she never acknowledged us. She had her back turned to us at all times. No hi, no nothing. The place is would be a perfect score if they had better customer service. We didn't buy anything. We walk out from places that we feel ignored. I'll give you 4 stars due to the quality of your items, the cleanliness, the fact that you're a local business and the location. My sisters closet is cool. It's pretty cheap and their stock changes often. I use this place for wardrobe basics, like work clothes (silk blouses and pleated skirts) and t-shirts for the weekend. I found a long strand of faux pearls once that I now wear all the time, as well as some dooney&burke bags that were only $25, so be sure to check out the accessories. Ive sold clothes here too, and overall it was a pleasant experience. I like to get paid in store credit because it's so easy to find a good deal here. If it wasn't for my sisters closet, I think my own closet would be empty. read more

Would give Zero STARS if it was possible. The manager/owner is horrendous!!! This place will rip you off and steal all your clothes. If they do sell anything they will give you about $2 for your beautiful brand name clothing. I decided to give this place another shot and I got screwed over even more this time. I went in twice to pick up my clothing they would not give me my stuff and told me to come back at a later time. I went back again and my stuff was all gone NOWHERE to be found. She asked if I had a confirmation number? No I never got one, I never even heared anything about any confirmation number. I took 13 items in, all great condition, name brand, beautiful clothing. I was told I sold 2 things I received a check for $7 AND all the rest of my 11 items Stolen from me. Gone. That's so much money taken from me and my family. I was treated very rudely and even threatened, I was told any item there can be taken at any moment and there's nothing we can do about it because in the contract says item can be "labeled" damaged and automatically donated. The last time I brought in beautiful expensive dresses and clothing. I never seen them on the selling floor once again I got a small check. They will make excuses and blame you when you try to pick up your stuff they won't let you and then say you didn't pick up your stuff. This place steals and rips people off. I know this has happened to others and I bet happens everyday. If anyone has the same issues please contact me. We can work together. These people are making money off of ripping the community off. This shop is very clean and well organized. It has some great finds- gently used items instead of the over-washed stuff you find at thrift stores and several nicer brands. I thought they had a good selection of all sizes. My mom and I both found something and we're a bit on the larger size. The shoes were super cute too. Prices were reasonable if not great! It's definitely worth a trip. ____________________________ I took some clothes to consign in March 2015. Call for their consignment hours- they only take them on certain days at certain times. They were friendly while going through my clothes. If you consign take them in on hangers... some of mine were rejected because they were too wrinkled. They keep clothes out for 1 month and on the sale rack for another- you have to come back and pick up what doesn't sell by a certain day or it gets donated. They take jewelry too but they don't have the same time frame- it stays until it sells or until they call you. Make sure you have that well sorted too. They also take items seasonally- so no coats in the spring or summer etc.. but they'll just tell you to bring it back in later. read more

There are so many second hand stores on Main Street in Woodland, that it is hard for me to be able to justify paying higher prices for used goods. Yeah, you don't have to do as much dirty digging -- but hey, that's the fun of it all! The clothing was all okay and it was a clean store, I am just not down with paying high prices. read more

I was very impressed with this shop. It is very clean and VERY well organized. The prices were a little on the steep side for a consignment store but that won't stop me from coming back. I spent almost an hour in here and purchased quite a few items for a little less than $50.00. I was very happy with their plus size selections also. Parking might be a pain during the lunch hour but you can usually find street parking a block or so over. read more

I adore My Sister's Closet... but as other Yelpers have mentioned, you have to be willing to *look.* I go in about once a week, just because the stock does change so often, and typically several weeks will go by before I find a real gem... but when I find one, it's an amazing one. I got a great pair of Miu Miu heels for $12 last summer, and a blood red felt pillbox hat for $10 a few months ago. If you're local, the key is to be consistent in stopping by. The store is well organized, but they don't have a contemporary or especially modern plus-size collection (12-up). I have consigned there as well, but based on what I took in and what I got back in cash, I will probably just donate and take the tax write-off in the future. read more

This is my fav clothing store to go when I visit the area for 3 reasons: 1. It's not crowded, cluttered, or disorganized. 2. While there isn't a huge a selection, almost anything I see looks almost new, or barely worn, so I'm not as iffy about the clothes. 3. This is an overdue review! :P I had a dinner date, but I didn't have time to change from my gross work clothes at home into something cute! I had been to "My Sister's Closet" many times and since it was on my way back from work, I thought it might be a good solution. I hastily ran into the store and asked the store keeper if she could help me find an outfit in my size (XS) to wear on my date. She was SO sweet and understanding! She helped me search around the store together looking for the perfect clothes! Several hasty quick changes later (and some great feedback from her,) we settled on a pretty red dress and found matching earrings. I looked so cute! I still own both and get tons of compliments. I'm always thankful to "My Sister's Closet" for helping me during my mad scramble. A year and 1/2 later from that first date, he and I are still together :P Although it wasn't ALL the outfit, I'm definitely grateful the store associates' for helping me look/feel my best on that single dinner date. I have to say I love My sister's closet. They're located in Historic downtown Woodland. This place is worth a look, but remember you have to look. If you're not used to shopping in thrift/second hand stores this place might annoy you because you have to search and sift through some crap to find a true treasure. However I have found multiple treasures here! The majority of the clothing is name brand. They consign so if you live in the area and have clothes you need to get rid of and are in good condition take them here! I've consigned once and was very pleased with the amount of store credit (you can choose store credit or cash) I recieved for some clothing and purses I was never going to wear again. They also have a selection of beads and beading supplies in the back of the store. I gave it 4 stars simply because I think there are too many old ladies consigning at the store with outdated clothing and some of their prices are steep for a second hand store. read more

I absolutely love this store. Because they accept clothes on consignment, the inventory is always changing & some trips there are better than others. But overall they have great clothes. I think the staff there have a good eye for fashion, & what will sell & what is better off going to the regular thrift store, so the selection is usually very good. I have found so many good deals here. It's obviously more expensive than a thrift store, but way cheaper than retail or even discount stores like Ross or Marshalls. The clothes are always in great shape, & there are many good quality name brands (Banana Republic, Nine West, etc). I recently took clothes in for the first time, & over all it went smoothly. I was very pleased with the amount of store credit I recieved. I plan to make a habit of taking my unwanted clothes in here. read more

This is a great place to find something unique. The prices are higher, but most of it is consigned, so I understand. I always find something. I love the layout and the staff is super nice. I also like the craft area where you can find amazing beads in all different colors and shapes. Everyone is nice, and they don't judge you if you come in looking dirty. read more

The shop is neat and clean. Their prices are fair for the lightly used clothing they provide. I got a nice pair of earrings for 3.00 and a barely used flats for 10.00. Generally, this brand sells for 40.00 so I thought it was a steal. The last few times there, I got shirts for about 4 - 6.00 each which is a steal bc the clothes there are barely worn and many are name brands like Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Vera Wang, and so forth. They cost 1/5 or less of the original prices. They bring in quality items and are clean unlike other thrift shops. read more

I do them a favor by bringing them clothes so they can stay in business and have clothes for people to buy. I've brought clothes in 3 times now and it has never once been a pleasant experience. I like supporting local businesses. I also like getting a little money for clothes that I don't wear nearly enough and just take up closet space. At My Sister's Closet, they took almost everything I brought, a lot better than the snooty Crossroads, that takes absolutely nothing that isn't in immaculate condition, yet sells t-shirts clearly from the 80s. (I'm not bitter.) I probably took in 5 pieces of clothing or so. Blouses, tops, a dress. And got about $20. Hey, money is money and I'll take what I can get. I like knowing my clothes aren't going to waste. The lady who runs the store is very nice. I don't have much patience to sift through the racks mindlessly if I'm not looking for something in particular. The only thing I've bought so far is a pair of earrings, a really old, cool-looking book, and a brown leather purse I scored for about $6. I'm sure you could find decent stuff here if you were very savvy. And patient. read more

This place is awesome, I was meeting a friend for lunch last week at a restaurant a couple of doors down, I found my self in the back alley with no access to the front door of the restaurant. I found the back door of "my sisters closet" and the very nice owner, (I presume) let me cut through her store even though I was not a customer, which not everyone would have. On my way though, I could not help but notice the classy atmosphere of the store and the great variety of clothing, shoes, purses, etc. After lunch, I came though the store again, only this time I spotted a nice pair of shoes (looked brand new), at the check out counter I was pleasantly surprised to find out the shoes were on sale 1/2 price. Wow, my lucky day! I will definitely be returning to this store, if you enjoy shopping for consigned clothing you will love this place! read more

Stopped in to see if they had maternity clothes and was pleasantly surprised! It's a small selection, but I found a nice pair of Gap slacks for work and a Gap top ($20 for both). The store is well organized and very clean. I was helped quickly by two very nice ladies. I didn't look at much else but maternity, but could see they had many name brands and nice looking clothes. Consignors should beware. On 2 separate occasions, many of my upscale consigned items went "unaccounted for". There was no record of them and no money got back to me for them. Either the store has extremely bad bookkeeping skills, or there is rampant theft that the consignors (you) must eat. I recieved nothing for my complaints other than lame excuses. The prices are way to high for a discount second hand store. If you leave clothes to be sold they take 60% way to much. I guess it's better then a garage sale price. I find some really crappy stuff hanging on the hangers so that tells me they pick and choose what stays to be sold. I wonder how much of the clothes do the owners decide to take because they are not organized at all. Not impressed at all with this store. If your a size 4 or 6 you might find a good item once it a awhile. You can find great items some times in a goodwill and for cents on the dollar if you just take the time to look around. read more

This is my all time favorite consignment store to shop at! Being a college student, I love to find cute clothes from my favorite brands, but I don't have the money to shop at these brands. I consistently find amazing trendy clothes here from expensive and designer brands for beyond affordable prices! The owners and employees are super welcoming and are always willing to give me their opinions and help me find what I'm looking for! I also consign my clothes here and loving being able to make money on the clothes I don't wear anymore. I love how easy it is to consign my clothes and pick up my monthly check.
