Donation drop off personnel are a bunch of a$$hat rude, didn't graduate kindergarten still live with their mama's bee otches. Three people standing around talking crap about everyone dropping off donations, loud enough so everyone could hear what they saying, lots an lots of cuss words and yelling at people to get the hell back in your car and wait, there were empty bins, its 100 degrees outside,who even knows if the old guy with coffee cup even works there he looks like he's homeless. What better place to source tea cup sets than the Goodwill? Stopped in the Woodland location literally on last minute thought and struck gold! I was floored at the prices for real China and had to restrain myself. There was also a selection of ugly Christmas sweaters and designer shoes. $9 for Sam Edelman's I almost passed out! Extremely Disappointed - I Will Never Donate Here Again I've donated countless items to this Woodland location over the years and had always appreciated the friendly and helpful service. Sadly, something has drastically changed -- and not for the better. A few weeks ago, I dropped off some items and briefly stepped out of my car to open the rear hatch. To my shock, I was yelled at by a staff member in an extremely rude and aggressive tone, telling me I wasn't allowed to get out of my vehicle. I brushed it off, thinking maybe he was just having a bad day. But today's experience confirmed that this is now the norm at this location. When I returned to donate clothes and a couple of rolled-up rugs, the woman working there immediately started screaming at me about the rugs, saying they weren't allowed. Before I could even understand the issue or ask a question, she angrily hurled the rugs back into my truck and threatened to call her manager. When I calmly asked her not to throw things, she snapped back, saying, "I work too hard for this." Excuse me? I'm donating items -- not dumping trash. These are things I could have sold, given to someone else, or taken to another charity. Instead, I chose to help your organization. The attitude here makes it feel like I'm the one asking for a favor -- and frankly, I'm done being treated that way. Whether this is due to poor training or a toxic work culture, it's unacceptable. From now on, my donations will be going to the SPCA in Davis, where people actually understand the meaning of respect and appreciation. Shame on whoever is managing this location. read more

I was born in Woodland so maybe it was just luck and a miracle, but when I went in there today I found some very expensive shoes for $5. They had half off for black Friday and I scored some brand new items for cheap. I am a reseller as a side hustle and I am going to make a lot of money on Ebay and Poshmark! Thanks to the goodwill employees for all your hard work on keeping it very clean and organized for your customers. read more

Customer service at the drop off is horrible. The worker went out of his way to be rude and make the donation process as difficult as possible. We strongly do not recommend this location for drop off. It makes me concerned with how they treat customers who need the help they are supposed to be providing. read more

I bought a used tv. Said" it works "on the box I asked the cashier can I open it before I buy it. He said it was plugged in the back and worked just fine. I took it home 55" 4k Philips newer model box. Opened it after a 25 min drive. 46" Westinghouse old model tv that was completely different. Get ready to thrift!! This Goodwill location is big (at least twice the size of the Davis location), and they offer everything you can think of: furniture, linens, kitchen items, electronics, books, clothing, a showcase with more collector-type items, some brand new items, and kids toys. I have found some cute clothing items that I've loved, including boots and sweaters, kids' shorts and soccer cleats, and men's sportswear. Most of my kitchen glasses are from here. They're so cheap, and if they accidentally (aka inevitably) break because they were dropped, it's fine! My kids love the toy section. It's a haphazard couple of rows where things are splayed all across the shelves. But this makes it totally okay for a kid to take something off the shelf, play with it, then put it back. We've scored some awesome and fun board games (all under $5)! Totally worth it. Don't neglect the book section. They have so many kids books, young adult novels, and plenty of other books!! You can easily find some great new reading here. They have dressing rooms, so it's easy to try on clothes. There's also a bathroom available. The only thing to beware of is that the parking lot is often filled with motor homes or other cars that are being lived out of. It's the most sketchy area I've experienced in Woodland, but I've never felt unsafe. I would just use caution. read more

My favorite Goodwill store by far! I honestly dislike most goodwill stores as they are usually overpriced. This store has lots of reasonably priced items, especially kitchenware! Great selection of dishes, cups and priced well. Got myself a nice leather Fossil handbag for $15, a brand new beautiful handbag that my grandmother loves for $15, a really good condition large Fossil handbag in like-new condition for about $15. Also got lots of books in good condition and baby clothes still w/ tags on them to give to friends. They had a good selection of Halloween costumes as well as new items for 2018. When I lived in Davis, I came here about 2x/ month just to look for hidden treasures, but now that I live in Citrus Heights, I can't come as often :( Also love that they open till 9pm (6pm Sundays). I also tried coming during a half off sale. Got a lot of items, but...SO CROWDED and the line to check out was crazy. Not sure it's worth it. The store stayed open past 9 that day because they had a quota to meet before they could close! That sucks for the staff :( Pro tip: Goodwill (at least in the sac area) has 50% off all donated items sale days on major holidays (like labor day) & 50% off a color tag on sundays read more

I was in an express center off of Pioneer Avenue today and tried to drop off a TV. I was told I needed a drivers license to do so. The clerk said she didn't know why and I asked her if an out of state drivers license would work. She called a coworker and the coworker said I needed a California drivers license to drop off my TV. This is the most ludicrous policy I have ever heard. I have dropped off items in multiple states and have never encountered this barrier. This is clearly a racially discriminatory policy. It's a shame that their clients are deprived of items because of the race of the people donating. The Goodwill has contacted me and asked for what location I was in today, so they can review the video of me donating my TV that's worth $20. I guess they need to verify ownership. read more

I've been here on a few occasions with the boyfriend, and we're constantly finding new gems! The furniture section is especially great depending on what time of the year you come in, because UC Davis students donate tons. The clothing section is pretty good, but I'm in love with the homeware section! Decently organized for a Goodwill, and every cashier I've talked to has been really sweet. read more

One of the better Goodwills I've been to! It's a big size with lots of gems. I've only been once though so this might not be an accurate rep of what it's like all the time however. But right off the bat, I found two Lee mom jeans that fit me just right and were $8 and $7 -- at more curated thrift stores or vintage stores these would be way way more. I do think that at other less corporate thrift stores these might be even cheaper though. Overall, the pants selections in the women's section was amazing and would go back to look again. The racks were pretty organized and I had an easy time maneuvering between the sections. The staff seemed attentive and did a good job maintaining the cleanliness. read more

I use to hate Goodwill, but I went to one in Bakersfield and it was so different from the rest. It made me really like them until I went to this one. It was the same experience as the first few times I went to the ones in Los Angeles. H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E! I took my friend that had never gone to one and since we walked in it was bad. The smell of the store was really bad. That is what I use to hate from all the Goodwills I use to go to in Los Angeles. It has a stench to them that I feel like the store is dirty. My friend told me she wanted to throw up, but I told her to look around. I told her she can probably find something cute to wear and just wash it later. I was looking for a sweater since I forgot mine and I was about 5 hours from home. I went to the women and men section. I didn't see anything cute or cheap. I didn't want to spend on a sweater that I was just going to use for a few hours. I saw one that was plain and it was going to do the job. It was $4.99 and I thought it was pricey for a used plain sweater. I ended up going to Wal-Mart in the same plaza and they had new ones for like $6.99! It was only $2 difference for a used one and a new one. They looked exactly the same and the material felt the same as well. I was glad I didn't buy it from Goodwill. We ended the day with my baby's foot stuck inside the cart! Not sure how his little foot got stuck but I started to get really worried. My friend went to ask an employee for help and he just told another employee. They would all just look around at each other and NONE of them helped! Two customers went and helped us while the baby was screaming. All the employees would avoid looking. Those two customers pushed and pulled the bars from the cart to make the gap bigger. I took out his foot gently and no thanks to the employees. With all that said, my friend is now convenienced that all Goodwills are a piece of dump with the worst customer service ever! I told her that there are nice ones. She said she is now traumatized with the horrible smell, ugly clothes, and bad customer service. I can't blame her since I feel the same exact way, but just for this one. read more

The manager here is amazing and I love that they give job opportunities to those with special needs/ handicaps. Jeremy helped us, he has disabilities and she was so kind and sweet to him I loved the support and interaction she gave him. I dropped off a bunch of good Hollister and Abercrombie long sleeve Ts and button ups last week size mediums , Hella nice shirts I had since I was like 12 , if you guys get em you are wearing a big part of my life ;) creepy cool haha I always love finding some good clothes cheap but they mark the shirts up way too high here, make the prices more reasonable people! Went to this Goodwill in Woodland because most of the ones in Sacramento are not accepting donations at this time. We arrived to a long line of cars, but decided to wait and see how fast the line was moving. It moved faster than we thought. We had a fully loaded truck and thought the guy taking donations might be upset. But to our surprise he was calm and very pleasant. He told us where to put everything and helped us unload. I was there June 20, 2020, in goodwill woodland. I want to see the book because it's inside the case. The sales lady her name raven she ignore me . I am disappointed and I will never go back in goodwill. The manager need to educate her how to do customer service. I work in retail so I know what customer service. I have been donating to Goodwill for over 45 years. Today when I donated 7 boxes of goods at the Woodland location, the man who was to take the donation informed me that all goods needed to be sorted out before donation. I have never been told this before and there are no instructions regarding this on their website for Covid precautions. Despite the fact that my donations keep their business running, pay their employees and support their endeavors, was never given a thank you, but only scolded for not sorting out my donations. I am sure there are plenty of charities that will happily accept my donations and will no longer support this outfit. read more

This place has been picked over bare bones since before Halloween despite long lines of cars dropping off stuff. If they are going to sell anything good online instead of putting some on the floor, I don't see any reason to go anymore. The whole point of shopping at a thrift store is to find a deal. Very well organized, a huge selection of practically everything, and pretty good prices. I went with three of my former work buddies and we all ended up buying multiple items. One friend said that he thinks the prices are higher here than at the Goodwill stores in West Sacramento and Sacramento. Even so, bargains abound. This store is much larger than the Davis store, better organized and has a large staff refilling the shelves. read more

I am updating my previous 2 star review because the experience I had the following day (after my first visit) was the complete opposite :) My hubby and I originally visited this location Saturday only to be disappointed with the unfriendly and unenthusiastic customer service. I want to say I attribute that to the man who I believe was the manager for that day (Saturday). He was standing behind the counter just watching and when my husband asked him a question he answered it by just pointing his finger-- very cold and not very friendly. Perhaps he set the tone for the rest of the employees? In any case, when I returned on Sunday I noticed he was not there and to my amazement the staff was super friendly. Everyone I came into contact with on Sunday was warm, enthusiastic to help, and did everything they could to help me out. One particular employee stood out the most and her name is Samira (sp?). She took her time helping me find what I needed and she did it with a positive attitude and a smile. We live in Davis so we normally shop at the Davis location, but the next time we are in Woodland I will most definitely visit this store and hopefully run into Samira because she made my shopping experience that much better. Very well stocked store. Only issue is the line waiting to check out. I've been in twice with at least 12 people in line each time, a manager was called to help on another matter and one time he spoke rudly to the service girl saying "The line isn't that long." The tone and attitude we're demeaning. Plus the line of customers all heard him say this. The check out people work hard and need support from their managers. I like the store but felt bad for the way the employees were treated. read more
