This is a super cute and adorable thrift shop. They have a set price list for each type of clothing. Prices are very reasonable. They also have a vintage section where the pieces are individually priced. It's a smaller shop compared to other thrift stores. You won't always find something, but it's definitely worth checking out. The cashiers are super nice. They also let you spin the wheel for a discount. read more

I came here to drop off clothing donations. Follow the signage to find the drop off location. To donate, walk around the left side of the building into the back parking lot. Continue walking past all the garages. Once you get past all the garages, you'll see a volunteer under an EZ up tent organizing donations. Leave your donations with them. They accept used or new clothing items as long as there are not significant rips or stains. No used undergarments. No used socks (only new sock donations). I assume they take non-clothing donations as well and may be back to donate some furniture when I finish moving out. read more

They had a really good variety and selection! Clothes are organized by size and type, and the prices are very cheap compared to good will. They also have a changing room. The prices are on the top of the back wall. There is also a student discount if you show your Aggie card! The person who helped me at the counter was very kind and told me the prices as she rang me up as well. I was so happy to find pants with pockets and a really good quality jacket as well, would highly recommend! read more

I used to shop here when I was an extremely broke college student. I mostly bought books and clothing. Everything was incredibly inexpensive. I once bought a pair of pants for less than a dollar and it came with a $20 bill in the pocket. My sister lives and shops here now. I am always pleasantly surprised every time I stop by the SPCA. While it is small and often jammed pack with a lot of items, I always seem to walk away with a real find when I take the time to dig. Super often this ends up being clothing, but I've also picked up some vintage sci fi books and cute little nicknack chickens (two things I'm always on the lookout for, for some reason). And the best part is the prices are almost always ridiculously cheap. So even though every visit only amounts to one or two things I deem worth buying, I'm always happy I ended up stopping by. And to top it all off all the SPCA staff I've interacted with have been very kind and extremely helpful. Overall I am very excited to continue supporting the Yolo County SPCA!! read more

Great place for real bargains for the most part- fractions of Goodwill. MOST staff are friendly. Portly guy needs another job. Surly, like the guy in the ad about returns on TV years ago. Tough to please for donations. Go to Goodwill on E8th, they grab it right now. The younger ladies are pretty sweet and friendly. It equals a pleasant experience- more patronage. The stock is sort of garage-saley stuff, pretty plain, with a couple gems. The organization is abysmal. Like at one time set out in some order, gone amok. The clothes outside- block off an hour to search. They COULD just group like things together. No. Bad in hot weather. They had a tent. No better. Still too hot for long digging. Really messy. Could be easily fixed, even weekly. Scary was this pouch. Reaching into it, got stuck on a pin through the tag, so was done there. Why? Already had a plastic thing to hold it. Go for a long, slow, safe look. Prices are good. Help the animals! Just don't get rabies from a pin or something. read more

Meh The yard out front had items scattered around and felt like a yard sale; they had bikes, ice chests, etc...nothing that really grabbed my attention. The service here was virtually non-existent. I walked in and said hi to the first employee who acknowledged me, but the extent of her greeting was giving me the once-over, a huge pet peeve of mine. I checked out their large selection of books, which included plenty of fiction, textbook, and children's titles. Was disappointed to see they really didn't have any housewares. They appeared to have tons of clothes, but I didn't bother to see how/if they were even organized since I wasn't looking for any and the racks seemed haphazard and overwhelming. Might stop in if I were in the area again, but definitely wouldn't go out of my way. Kind of a bummer considering the cause they're supporting. Had potential, but overall not appealing. Luckily, Goodwill is only a few minutes drive away and was much better all around. read more

This was a fabulous thrift store before the Pandemic. It not only hasn't recovered, but it is getting worse as the months go by. They have opened up the donation zone without an appointment, BUT the last times I've stopped to donate the woman is very unfriendly and even a little crabby. The very last time I attempted to donate, I had some nice items and started to unload (this employee seems loathe to come near a trunk). As soon as the employee noticed a clothing item, she recoiled and said, "We're not accepting any clothing at this time." Not wanting to separate the donations, I just closed the trunk and drove to the Goodwill. Where, by the way, a not crabby person politely unloaded and took everything. The donation time before this, she wouldn't accept an antique wooden ironing board saying, "We don't accept ironing boards." The next time I was in the shop, I saw ironing boards. Regular, not antique. Finally, the prices are now ridiculous. There is way too much clothing, more than half of which will probably never find a buyer. Considering how funky the store is, it's certainly not in a position to ask top dollar for everything. Additionally, the overpriced items sit on the shelves for too long without a price reduction. I know this is harsh, but it's a really great charity and it's fallen so far from its past glory. EXCEPT EXCEPT EXCEPT the employees on the floor. Such a nice, helpful, and cheery group!! So completely confused after dropping off donations. I had kitchen items and a bunch of aquarium supplies. They took the 2 gallon tank set up, the loose aquarium supplies, but an entire 10 gallon tank set up (LED hood, water heater, water filter, air pump and aeration supplies, gravel, decor and other fish keeping supplies) they wouldn't take. All that you would need is a 10 gallon tank (get on sale at Pecto for $10), water, fish and fish food. Easily $150-200 worth of supplies, and they didn't want it. Yet they did take the box of knick knack junk. If they weren't accepting any aquarium supplies, it would make sense. But this doesn't. I hate to have to literally throw away hundreds of dollars of like new equipment. People want you to recycle and not throw things into the landfill, but isn't the first time I've had problems donating things. Next time I'll save myself a trip and just throw it all out I guess. read more

After all they are for a good cause and is still the first place I attempt to donate my things to. However I now have backup donation places like the Goodwill on East 8th street. Great location in Davis for a thrift store. We have been to Davis so many times and we kept passing by this place. So now it was the time to stop by and browse. To our liking they had Shopping flow traffic in place along with social distances practices. Clothes were outside to allow greater space for people to roam about. read more

As a regular thrifter, who lives a block away from this store, I've given up on this place. The merchandise is overpriced, overpacked and disorganized. To add to the reasons to avoid this place, they make it difficult to donate, appointment only. So after you've done that home clean out and you're excited to let things go, you would have to hold onto it for about a week before this place will accept your items (on their schedule). If you're looking to Donate, the Goodwill center in Davis will take your items without appointment, 7 days a week from 10am to 6pm. If you're looking to shop, All things right and relevant in Davis has a consignment and thrift area that are both very nice. If you're willing to go a little further, Woodland has many great thrift store options. It's unfortunate that the SPCA thrift store has become such a disappointment. I've been living in Davis almost 20 years, and I love supporting the mission of the SPCA, but I can't support this store anymore. Extremely disappointed. read more

Pros: benefits SPCA, found some really great items. They were also nice & picked up our donation couches for us (you have to call & schedule a pick up for when a staff member is free) Cons: relatively small size, some items are overpriced (some of the art work is $50+). Would probably get better profits overall if they priced things a bit cheaper and had a lot more sales. Also, tried to donate some items one time and a brand new coffee maker in the box was outright rejected bc they get so many (& maybe it was bc they got so many donations after Marie Kondo came out on Netflix?). So be aware that they are somewhat selective in donation acceptance. But do try to donate to SPCA first instead of Goodwill or for-profit thrift stores that leave out donation bins while pretending to be non-profit. read more

There are two things I sure do love: 1. a good steal 2. a good cause I was in dire need of a garden tea party hat and was looking to perhaps find some vintage saucers and tea cups to decorate my tea party. And for $3 I found an awesome straw hat with a cute purple bow in mint condition and I found a surplus of teacups, saucers, and other kitchen wear, all under a buck a piece. I also came across brand new packaged CUTE moccasins that I couldn't pass up. And for just $6, I didn't feel too guilty about that. The store also offers an assortment of furniture, clothes, shoes, house decor and electronics. I'm sure some days are hits and some are misses so you really just have to peruse your way thru to find a good bargain/item. But most interestingly and importantly, the money made @ this thrift store is the primary funding source for Yolo County's Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. And being an animal lover and activist, I urge everyone to either make a donation or pay patronage to this store. The staff are also friendly and some are working as volunteers. Giving back to the community never felt like such a bargain! read more

This place has a huge book selection, but it is much more quantity than quality. Still, one could find some treasures if you dig. I found a few good clothing items, but sizing was off. My reason for not giving this place 5 stars was that it is pretty disorganized and seems unclean; I get that it is a thrift store. 'Great find of a thrift store! I've volunteered at a number of non-profits. (i.e. - Soup kitchens; thrift stores, etc.) I have to say that the pricing @ each shop can range from okay, good to f*k'n amazing, here @ the Yolo County SPCA Thrift.... 'For the most part, good. It has been a while since I've put in time @ a thrift shop and I have to say, "It's a lot like the Underground Railroad," and by that I mean it's a social subculture that operates on a completely different level like a basement. - "Hey, that's a level!" Don't get me wrong, there are lots of good deals to be found BUT that doesn't mean you need to buy it just because you can. A lot of people say weed/marijuana is a gateway drug to harder narcotics, thrift stores are the gateway drug to hoarding. (True story.) TSGs - Thrift Store Groupies (Yes, they do exist.) The three R's of the TSG: - Reseller - Retired - Retarded... 'Or Rx. (Medicated) One TSG, we'll call him Norm, very much like the character from the sitcom, "Cheers." Every single day, Norm would walk in like he owned the place...( Well, for a couple dollars he probable could.) I was half surprised that I didn't see him in a robe, flopping around in his bunny slippers, with his first morning cup of coffee in hand. Norm was there even more than some of the workers, he'd come in 2-4 times a day... "Ah, so, this is where the unemployed come to gather?" I half-jokingly thought I was going to run into my own brother-in-law. (The other half of me was somewhat kinda serious.) One day, Norm even came in with his mom and she too acted like they were hanging out @ home in their living room... Yeh, it was weird but what a source for comedic gold. "Was'up Dyler? How's my main man?!" (Did this f*k'n guy, really just say that? I can't make this sh*t up.) He high fives him as he walks by... Wow. Did I mention comedic gold? Most of the people I worked with were pretty cool but some strutted around like prima donnas... Yes, believe it or not, you have your mo'fo, 2nd hand prima donnas. One supervisor, we'll call him "Dyler," overall cool guy but every now & then I'd see him stroll around the shop, his hands squarely placed on his hips, surveying the land as if he was some captain on the battlefield. BWA'HAHA! WTH?! Really?... 'Telling people to do things for the sake of. (i.e. - Busy work) It reminded me of the old prison yards where the inmates were just moving piles of rubble from one corner of the yard to the other... However, here it was piles of used crap. ('BUT, some pretty cool used crap!) Overall, one of the better priced thrift shops I've volunteered at. Most of the workers are helpful while some not so much & are most likely earning volunteer credit for college graduation, serving community service like trying to avoid paying a fine for a speeding ticket. The shop's inventory changes daily, one never knows what that day's haul will bring in. (I saw someone score a Nintendo DS for $5.) I was leaving dog park and realized I needed a bowl to put my water in for my dogs. Drove past Yolo County SPCA Thrift Store and stopped in. There was a large amount of merchandise outside, with people looking around and door propped wide open. Once inside found a bowl and was getting ready to purchase when a male employee came out from the back and said "we're closed" i replied, I just was looking for a bowl for my dog and he forcefully said "GET OUT" I was so confused with customers out front and the doors wide open... he followed up with the fact that their hours are posted. I absolutely love this thrift store! If you get a Davis coupon book (found on campus), you can find 30% and 40% off coupons which is awesome. I always spend more than 1.5 hours, digging up goodies. Most tops are priced around 3-6 bucks. Jackets are around 10 bucks. With the coupons, I can get like a jacket, jeans, and a few tops for around $20. Of course thrifting can be hit or miss, so don't always go in with expectations. I go about 2-3 times a quarter :) and it's running distance from my apartment. read more

It was nicely organized, but it seems to be under new management and is not as well organized and the prices on some items are ridiculously high for a thrift store. This is one of my favorite thrift stores! My sister and I always make a trip here whenever I am in town. The prices are dirt cheap so it really is more like a treasure hunt! This last trip I was able to find a big thermos for 50 cents, a UCLA hat for $1.50, and a white noise sleep aid for $2! They always have coupons or some kind of deal going on. My only wish is that I lived closer to this place because I would be here all the time! read more

I'm a big fan of SPCA thrift store. I like it for a lot of reasons. 1) In Davis, the used furniture market is a tricky one because so many students are selling their used furniture for a lot more than you would expect given that it's used. So it can be really nice to come here and get stuff for really decent prices. 2) There definitely are a LOT of things I will never need or want when I come here but there is also always some good finds if you look thoroughly enough. 3) I love supporting the SPCA in any way possible, so I'll always support these guys. 4) The donation process is super straightforward and almost always open so you can always drop stuff off. That said, there are a few downsides, just that it can be pretty jam packed full of stuff, there is some junk that probably could just be thrown away, and once in a blue moon things are more expensive than I would hope they would be. That said, that really is a rare occasion and things are usually well prices, and I can almost find great stuff here. read more

Any business that supports animal shelters is great by me! A small/medium sized shop. Most clothes are pretty worn/outdated. Same thing goes for houseware. However, I did manage to snag a pair of Brazilian genuine suede pointy flats for $7 & my partner made off with a bunch of funny hallmark cards for $1 each. So all in all, it's worth a try. read more

Friendly thrift store to shop at. They had great deals when I came here last week and clothing was $2! Awesome! They had a lot of furniture and bicycles in the front and I believe there was a back section for home goods. I didn't get to look at everything but there were some good finds! I love that it goes to a good cause. The only sucky part were these shoppers in the store that were super rude and such a bullies when we went in and cut in line.
