First and foremost - the store is OPEN! I was there today and had a long visit (and shopping trip) with Judy. She is working Wednesdays - Saturdays from 11am - 4pm and sometimes runs just a few minutes late. I hope when I'm her age that I only run a few minutes late too. We arrived from out if town the night before and I left her a note asking if she would call if she opened. She called just a few minutes after 11 and I jumped in the car to get there. 1) If you're a yarn snob - skip it. The store is packed, homey, somewhat unorganized - and utterly glorious in my opinion. (Your loss as she has some spectacular yarns!) 2) Judy is a wealth of knowledge and has forgotten more than I'll ever know about knitting. She'll sit down and teach you ANYTHING! 3) Her dog is all bark and no bite. She only wanted to meet me and lick me to death. She doesn't wander around the yarn or the store, just sits with Judy 4). Be ready to troll through boxes, step over fallen avalanches of yarn and best of all - be inspired! If you are looking for something in particular - ASK. She'll be able to find it after some thinking, and I'm always in awe of her selection 5). DON'T MISS THE BACK ROOM. You're welcome. 6). Give yourself plenty of time - it's overwhelming. My mind was racing from project to project and sometimes I just sat down and chatted for a few minutes to get focused. I've been shopping here for well on 15 years now (and I don't even live in Oregon!) and my only disappointment is when she is closed. I'm hoping as covid starts to clear, she can find reliable help and expand hours soon. Don't give up - it's well worth the wait! read more

There is no finer store on the Oregon coast, no offense to the others, it is just my yarn loving opinion. Judy has yarn of every fiber imaginable, and some you might not, and of every price range. I am an expensive yarn lover, on a budget that won't allow it. But I can fine wonderful Alpaca yarn to knit a hat for under $9. Walking into her store you may just want to grab a hank of yarn touch it to your face, or dive into a pile of it in the corner, if you are a crocheter or knitter. Every color, everywhere, yarns higher than your head, wall to wall awesome. So what if she isn't open when you may prefer she is. Stuff happens, doesn't it? I wonder sometimes why people qualify being disappointed because they couldn't shop, as a reason to give a business a bad review. I have wanted the shop to be open more than some times it is as well. But I don't even care about that as much as I love the quality, quantity and pricing. I can wait and when I do, I will stock up. read more

I walked in here to browse with my wife and the inventory was absolutely unbelievable. They have every type and color of yarn imaginable. Nylon, polyester, cotton, bamboo, milk thread, mohair, etc. A quick count of some shelves has me estimating there is an inventory of close to 50,000 balls of yarn here. If you can't find what you need here, you can't be helped. read more

This store is never open, the hours on the internet say they are open until 5pm, went at 2:30pm and they were closed. The sign on the door said they closed at 4pm but again it was 2:30pm. They could at least leave a note if they had stepped out. read more

This looked like it might be an interesting yarn shop. I was searching for a yarn shop to start a big project. I checked online. They should have been open at 10:00. Great. I went by 10:30. They weren't open and the sign on the door said open 10:00. I went to eat and came back. The shop was still not open. Later I called later to see if someone was there. It was a full mail box. I feel the shop owner should have at least put/have someone put a note on the door letting everyone know the shop was closed for whatever reason. Poor management. read more

While Judy, the owner, has every yarn on the planet, she's rarely open and will tell you the same story (mostly lies) year after year. She literally told me the same story 3 years in a row when I stopped in for white angora yarn for Christmas stockings. Luckily I have a shop in Bandon that is wonderful. read more

This is truly a hit or miss affair. I drove 2 hours, arriving on a Monday (November 16, 2020) at 3:30 pm. The website says they are open. No one there. Locked tighter than a drum. A sign on the window says 11-4 Wed thru Sat, or by appointment. One cannot leave a message to schedule an appointment as the "mailbox is full." I sent an email 14 days ago. No response. Peering through the window reveals a lovely selection of yarn which most certainly would have met my needs. I would have spent about $100 here, but , alas, the proprietor apparently does not want to do business. I wonder that the proprietor doesn't simply hire an employee if it is not convenient to operate the store, return emails and clear the message inbox.... Proprietor? This shop is RIPE for a competitor to open a yarn shop in town. I really think the market would support an open shop. read more

Rarely have i experienced such an inspiring collection of yarns as I saw today in this little shop in Coos Bay. There are yarns from around the world and a great selection of varigated mohairs and woolen yarns. I just had to buy some aqua/ violet/ blue wool to take with me for some future project.. maybe felting..but just couldn't pass by because who knows when i will ever see such wonderful yarn again? The owner of the shop is delightful and chatty. Be sure to stop by when you pass through !! read more

I don't believe there is another yarn store on the planet that has every yarn known to human. This is one of those places where when you say "I've died and gone to heaven" you can really mean it. If you need it... They've got it. Highly recommend you put on your resource list for yarn supplies. read more

You can't believe how much yarn is here...really good yarn. Judy, the owner, is very helpful; she was as committed to finding yarn to suit my project as I was, perhaps even more so. As an avid knitter I thought this place would be heaven. Not!! You cant walk thru this tiny store, always boxes in the way. Can't get to half the yarn. There's books on the floor and when you pull a skein off the shelf half the shelf comes with it. The owner just glares. I went there with a friend to do some major shopping and she said we couldn't shop as she was going out to eat. She's never open for people for work 9 to 5. I would rather drive the half hour to Bandon and shop there or order online. Time for this lady to retire and someone else to take over!!! read more

This is my 2nd time going to this shop. I am from Portland, and I also brought a new friend to the shop. Judy's shop has an amazing selection of yarn. She is super knowledgeable and willing to demonstrate. We went in to just pick out yarn and spent 3hours browsing, talking, and learning so much. Such a wonderful experience. read more

Drove 55 miles today (Saturday) to visit the store and to buy some yarn. Arrived at 1:30 and the store was closed, even though the hours are supposed to be from 10 to 5. And the sign on the door said would be back at 12:30. Not a good way to run a business! read more

This store has every type of yarn possible. Can be overwhelming, but the owner and her assistant are there to help. I like to knit a project with good quality natural yarns and not waste my time knitting with synthetics that don't give you the quality finished product. Love this place! read more

I had an awesome time prowling this HUGE yarn shop in Coos Bay. Floor to ceiling shelving holds every type and color of fiber you can imagine, plus a dedicated room just for books and patterns. The owner was onsite, and as a native of the town gave us some colorful and hilarious stories about the town and some of its quirky residents. Cannot recommend this store enough. read more
