The office staff were probably the most friendliest and well- informed dental staff I have ever had the pleasure to experience. When you are there, you are amongst family. Never a shortage of smiles. Each phase of the treatment was performed to perfection and never once, did I ever feel rushed or cheated. Dr. Pandya is a " perfectionist" about everything. She enjoys educating her patients, which makes me feel even more comfortable to be in her care! This is a dental office , that I would highly recommend to everyone!

Dr. Leung is a really nice, gentle dentist, he is easy to talk to and always answers my questions when i'm there. The hygenists are really great too. I have a male hygenist (cant remember his name!) he is really gentle and has never hurt me while cleaning my teeth. I'm a big baby when it comes to getting my teeth cleaned, the whole idea of having gloved fingers in my mouth just freaks me out but they are always gentle and they take my fears into consideration. It'll be sooooo fun, at the end our mouth will hurt, we'll have chapped lips, and we'll get a bill for $400." - No one ever. Hands up if you like the dentist! Anyone? Anyone? No one likes going to the dentist, especially me. My Dad used to pull my teeth out with needle-nosed pliers when I was little. Incidentally, these same pliers also spent time working on the car and other odd jobs...don't worry though, he wiped them off on a rag before they went in my mouth. Oh yeah, I also have parts of my two front teeth that are fake (don't worry, his home dentistry biz couldn't handle that one). I have such a "not small" fear of the dentist that I didn't go for like 6 years. One day I realized that my fear of being 30 and having dentures is greater than my fear of the dentist so I started looking for a dentist that would be really nice to me. A co-worker recommended Downtown Dental and I phoned and told them my scary dental story and asked them if they could be extra nice to me. That was three years ago and now I go every six months. I don't like many of the dental sounds (scraping, drilling etc.) even if they are from someone else's mouth so I they suggested I bring some music to listen to. However, on the day of my appointment I forgot my ipod at home. The receptionist insisted I listen to her ipod as she knew it would help. Love it. Going to the dentist is never fun, but these guys make it as easy as possible. They also send me a birthday card each year (and it's not to remind me to book an appointment, it's just to wish me a happy birthday) - I like it. Bonus! - they've also moved into PennWest Plaza, also the location of Rise Bakery, home of Crack Bun, so you can sink your clean teeth into a cinnamon-y delight right after your appointment. If Crack Bun is part of the process, I could be persuaded to go weekly....ok, maybe not.

I've been through so much with dentists and orthodontists, never being fully happy with the results, and have experienced significant dental trauma which has given me major anxiety about receiving any dental work. Dimension Dentistry changed everything, they listened carefully to my concerns and what I was willing and not willing to do. They didn't try to force anything on me, and the administrative staff were all very polite and helpful in working together between my health insurance and I. I didn't feel a thing while Dr. Mark Fairbanks worked his magic for almost 2 hours, and it was such a relief, my teeth are beautiful and my confidence has been restored. No one wants to visit the dentist. When Dr. Patel is looking after me I feel completely comfortable. I literally feel nothing when she uses the needle to freeze my mouth. During the entire time my comfort is what's most important. "You're going to feel a pinch." "You're going to feel vibration." "Are you doing OK? Just raise your hand if you want me to stop." "Now I'm going to do this." And so on. With past dentists I would have a sore jaw and gums for days after. Not with Dr. Patel! I no longer cringe at the thought of visiting the dentist! The dental hygienists and front desk staff are just the icing on the cake. Fun folks but still very professional!

Nothing illegal with "dental price gouging", nor is charging $10 for a .50 cent bottle of water in Hurricane Katrina. Dr. Art Piercy Owner ---------------------------- He flat out refuses to give reasonable rates, graduated in the 70's and feels his "experience" allows him to "price gouge." Keep in mind computers didn't even exist back then. Previous Employee Tells us How it Works --------------------------------------------------------- Art bills each "dentist" a set fee for each procedure they do. Ex: Root Canal, (3 roots/filling) Art gets $1148 for everyone sold and the dentist gets % of what's left over. They charge $1500 PLUS $300 for the filling. Each "dentist" is billed out at full rate, No matter the what country or year graduated. Your Dentist will try to max your Insurance --------------------------------------------------------- Look for a dentist with reasonable rate. Retail price for root canals in Edmonton around $500 and Calgary around $1000. One of art's "special root canals" will cost you $2000 and will max out most insurance plans. Very professional, listens and has always the best solution or provide you with the best treatment option. I had a tooth that didn't look the greatest due to a root canal, etc., needed a special touch cosmetically etc. - Dr Vranjes and also my awesome hygienist Kylie recommended to see Dr. Montemayor. Kylie - dental hygienist with a passion and positive attitude, always with her big and beautiful smile. She is the best! I was a bit afraid and waited with my decision till yesterday and OMG, Dr Isela Montemayor accompanied by lovely Kris is an artist. Kris is an angel, can't say enough good words about this beautiful soul - thank you for being so special Kris. Dr. Isela did an amazing job, made my day.
