I went to this place when few years ago; I been wanting to write this review for this place but it was humiliating experience I just couldn't find the words in me. I called for an eye appointment and the exam was fine. But when I got tot part I was supposed to pick out glasses, the assistant barely helped me. I was really needed help because I have a wide face and I had my young son in the baby carrier. The assistant brushed me off and acted like I was a second class citizen. Then he suggested that I come back because he was busy. He was busy... I never came back. I will and will continue to pay out of pocket to Walmart before I ever come back there again. Never again. Side note: when I was waiting for an assistant, I spoke with a family of three young daughters who needed glasses. They were trying to figure out how to pay 850 for their three kids. The mother went online and found the prescription glasses for a third of the cost and left the building. read more

I scheduled an appointment for my niece around the beginning of the school year. First available! I just got notified on the 19th AFTER calling to confirm my appointment, again, that her apppointment was cancelled on the 14th...one week BEFORE her appointment! I have evidence on my phone that I confirmed it on the 13th...Because of her insurance, because I am fostering her, this was the vision place that they took. The child has been complaining about her eyesight for months. I kept telling her her appointment was on the 21st! What kind of business cancels an appointment a WEEK before the actual appointment? I will just pay out of my pocket elsewhere,this is ridiculous! read more

I would give My Eye Dr negative stars if I could. I knew I should have turned around and left when I walked in and they were proud that they don't have you fill out medical history for the eye appointment. I know I have medical history that absolutely can affect my eyesight. But, I wanted to give them a try because I needed new glasses, after my last pair just broke. Having worn contacts and glasses since 6th grade, and having astigmatism and pretty bad eyes, I know what to expect an eye appt. This was the fastest appointment I have even been thru, they must push people thru as quick as possible to bill and get their money. And again, I should have walked out when they didn't want to see my prior rx's for contacts or glasses. After not finding any glasses frames I liked, I asked for my RX to go elsewhere. The receptionist was visibly irritated, but I know that's my choice. When I got my RX, I was floored when I saw how bad my eyes supposedly got. I went to another place and got glasses. When they came in, the RX was so off, I would get sick trying to wear my glasses the moment I put them on. I called My Eye Dr to have a recheck, they didn't call back. FOR DAYS. I finally called them again and again until I got a person on the phone. Of course, they had NO room for recheck appts, and I could go to another location 45 min away in a few weeks. I ended up paying out of pocket for another exam at another place, since My Eye Dr already billed my insurance for the annual appt. Not shocking, my RX really didn't change, and I had to go back to the glasses place and have them redo my glasses with the correct RX. Save your money, your time, stress, your insurance benefits, and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! read more

Yesterday I had an eye exam along with purchasing new glasses at my eye Dr. in Brunswick,GA. 4875 ALTAMA AVE. This was a very pleasant visit. Nothing about this visit was uncomfortable. They had what appeared to me to be new up to date equipment that all you basically had to do was look into a hole and let the extremely nice lady snap a few pictures. All of the personnel were very kind and friendly, and at the same being very professional! I live 45 minutes away in Saint Marys/ Kingsland and have tried using two local eye care businesses here with not near as good service. (Outside of the Doctors office in both cases) In both cases the doctors involved were exactly what I wanted. Point is, I will be in the future driving the two extra hours to Brunswick for my eye care. read more

Called them twice and they never bothered to call me back. That's unacceptable. The whole reason I called, which I told them, was that I only had a couple of weeks to get glasses made, so I really needed them to tell me if they could help me. So after they didn't call me for two days, 4I had less than two weeks to find somewhere else and hope they could make the glasses in time. Will never call them again. read more

I worked with Fred at this office, and I must say, he doesn't have much knowledge about how to do his job. I have dealt with many other eye doctors before, and he was just not up to par with his skills for the job. I'd not recommend this location to anyone read more

Everything about my visit was great except this one employee. Whenever she had to get near me, she literally ran around me and as far away from me as possible as if I had some awful disease. It would've been comical except that it was highly unwelcoming and unprofessional from the customer's perspective. She was also quite stern with me about having to wear a mask in the exam room. Listen, everyone is welcome to do what they want about it for themselves, but when you force your beliefs and viewpoints on others, that's when I have a problem with it. If I hadn't been so desperate for updated contacts and if I hadn't driven an hour to that appt, I wouldn't walked out and found somewhere else to go. Kept getting texts and phone messages to schedule my yearly appointment. Tried several times to book appointment on line but just shows limited appointments available and to call. Called several times over the last few weeks, no answer just goes into voicemail options or to leave message. Called again today, twice, someone finally picked up and told me they were losing doctor at end of month and don't have a replacement yet, so I would need to call back next month. Just made an appointment elsewhere after my husband and I doing business with the Brunswick locations for years. read more

I scheduled my kids visit months in advance, a month before my visit I had to get a new phone and a new number. I was unable to carry over my old number. When it came time to confirm my appointment, they naturally could not reach me by phone but I did get an email that they were trying to reach me. I tried calling for several days. No one there apparently can answer the phone! They may as well take down their contact number and cancel their phone service. We drove an hour and a half to get there just to be snapped at by the receptionist! So I guess filling a 30 minute time slot is more important than seeing a loyal customer..why should we have to confirm an appointment anyway! If we made the appointment in the first place we should still have it when we get there! We waited to see if there would be a cancelation but we were told not to bother waiting past 2 because they closed at 3!! Because Lord forbid anyone staying half an hour over to see a loyal patient who drove all that way!! Well thank you Brunswick location, we will not be back!!!!!! read more

This practice is the best kept secret. We went while at the beach for a week because my son couldn't get to his regular eye doctor in Raleigh North Carolina. The attendant was so helpful and made sure we got every benefit from our insurance. She explained things to us that we never even knew about our insurance. My husband is getting ready to make an appointment because it's easier to go to the doctor on vacation then during the work week. Making an appointment with this practice is a breeze! We are switching everything over as soon as we get back to Raleigh!!! read more

For years I have used Lord Eye Center located at the corner of 4875 Altama and the Spur. They are courteous, professional and they helped me save over $50 dollars by using benefits on my Humana card. I noticed they have a wide selection of glasses for men and women of all ages. There are glasses for casual and business wear. The section that got my attention was all of the fun frames for young children up to college age. If you are seeking great looking glasses for a very moderate price range the techs at Lord Eye Center should be your next stop. Everything about the visit was great. Appointment convenient on a Saturday morning. Greeted by a friendly face. Everything was explained in simple terms, including how services would translate to insurance. The fitting was low pressure sales. I got progressive lenses and was warned it takes getting used to. The measurement must be spot on because it's day 2 and I have had zero issues. I love my glasses. Highly recommend! read more

I understand with this COVID mess things are not normal. But rude customer service is no excuse. The very first time I visited I told the receptionist I had an appointment and gave her the time and showed her the text message verifying it. She argued that it was on a cancellation list. So I told her to call me if they had a cancellation and I MIGHT be available. The waited to calm down. Called the OFFICE again to schedule an appt. was told none were available till JULY. Immediately went to the website scheduled one for the very next day at 920 in am. SAME OFFICE. I have had my new glass about a month now. Called to get in to pick up my grandsons glasses for him and have mine adjusted. The Lady acted like it was too much trouble, said ' they will be loose with the mask' I didn't argue. I got transition lenses, was not told there were different 'grades' for lack of a better term. Told her they did not darken alot and return to normal as soon as i sat in the car. She checked them said they look pretty dark. then checked my prescription and said I didn't get the extra transition lenses. Extra may not me the correct term. Everytime I have been to this office it has not been a pleasant experience. When we went in to get our glasses They was super nice, But after paying $360 for my glasses They have been bad‍ I called Friday morning to see if my glasses are in, The paper I got said they would be in on Friday, They wasn't ready ‍‍ Then called and I heard someone answer the phone and just lay it down on the table I can hear them talking to other customers‍ So I waited but they never said hold or anything After three in a half minutes, someone came to the phone, Glasses should've been ready on Friday no one called or texted me I called them on Saturday and they said my glasses are ready but they didn't bother to let me know‍ This is ridiculous I will never get glasses from here again Right after I got off the phone with her I got a call that my glasses were ready from an automated person Then I go to pick up my glasses and they are busy so I sit down and wait, this lady comes in after me and we all waiting over twenty minutes and some lady comes from the back and walks up to the lady that came in after me and helps her‍ Then she sees my pissed off look and ask me if I'd been helped, I said no But I'm next! I told her my name and that I was there to get my glasses. She went to tell another lady to help us. I'm never going there again. I'm so glad that I came here to get my own experience despite the rumors of rudeness I heard about. This place is awesome! Atmosphere is great! The staff is super friendly & I highly recommend John, the general manager. He will hook you up. Prior to my appointment, I searched multiple eye doctors,however, many didn't accept my insurance except Lords. So I decided to give them a try for myself before I brought my whole family in. From the time I walked into their doors to the time I left I was impressed & satisfied with the level of service I received. They also have great promotions! I highly recommend MyEyeDr, they have a great staff and take their time with their clients. Overall an excellent experience and made my 6 year old daughter, whom was getting glasses feel like a princess with her glasses. The last place myself and my daughter went to American Vision Center and they gave both of us the wrong prescriptions several times and I would not go back and was out of a lot of money. MyEyeDr did an awesome job and both my daughter and I are able to wear our glasses without any issues. My daughter made me cry last night when she asked me what the lights in the sky was and I told her stars. She never seen them before!!!! And I had no idea, and she was so excited!!! I just used these guys and really can't thank them enough. Traveling over July 4 weekend I had lost my contacts. Staying on Island I called 2 other closer places and basically was told yes we are open but no we can't help you..... one place told me they would have to order and it would be a week to fill my prescription. Fortunately I called one more place and talked to John Ross the manager. He was very friendly and helpful. He told me to get him my prescription and he thought he could give me a pair of sample contacts in my prescription. He even went the extra step and contacted my doctor at home to confirm info. Staff was awesome. Great attitudes and super friendly. Exam was thorough and they explained everything as we went. Loved the frames I picked out and the promotion for a second pair. However, I have to give the final product a frowny face. My polycarbonate scratch resistant lenses were scratched within 24 hours. I understand scratch resistant doesn't mean scratch proof but, I am not rough on glasses at all and usually a pair will last me 2 years. This was enough to sent me elsewhere for glasses! read more

Everyone at Lord is pleasant and helpful. They take walk-ins and have helped me in varying broken glasses emergencies. The guy who cuts glasses (forgot his name, sorry) even stayed when he was supposed to take his lunch to go ahead and get everything squared away for me. GM was very helpful ensuring that I got the best deal in regards to my insurance. I've never purchased contact lenses directly from the eye doctor. It's always been cheaper online, but she was able to combine the cost of my contacts with the cost of a new pair of glasses make it worthwhile. The last time I purchased a pair of glasses it cost me $400+ with insurance. Through MyEyeDr, after looking at every scenario with my insurance, I purchased contact lenses for a year, new frames and glasses for $285. This eye dr is the worst. Came in and got a exam done with them. This was my first one with them,and they screwed my glasses up. Gave me a pair that was to strong for me. This year when I phoned to make my appointments for the family they refused to book appointments on the same day for more than two people so considering we all wear glasses and contacts they probably just lost over $1000 at least if not more because of their lack of customer service. very very disappointed!! read more
