After I had an hour waiting (around 11:15AM) to see someone, I asked to the front desk when they will call me in, and they told me that I was next. They called a couple people after that before me. Finally, around :11:30 they call me in, and they did a few tests on me in a machine for few minutes, then they told me to wait again to see the doctor. I waited again for like 30 more mins and then left. Never got to see the doctor. They are very slow, and they don't give any updates on any delays. TERRIBLE SERVICE! Why gave appointments if you can attend them on a reasonable time? I will never come back. I have been coming there for few years now, and they were always behind but the last couple of years it has got worse. I would not recommend anyone to come to the Clanton AL location unless you want to waste your time or have all day free to have an eye exam.

Dr. Essinger is hands down the best optometrist I have ever seen. The staff at Vestavia Eye Care was friendly and helpful from the moment I reached the front counter. The initial tests and evaluations were thorough, especially when I told them some recurring issues I was having. (Note: make sure you have at least an hour for your exam if you have an issue.) When I told Dr. Essinger the issues I had been having for two years that were unsolved mysteries for every doctor I saw, he was the first to care. He ran texts on me I had never seen and he came up with two theories for me to test. In fact, he was so concerned that he told me to text him as soon as I had progress. They now say that there were other charges and she is only owed back $70 of $140 when she clearly paid the bill in full. We have both been by to speak with them and the office manager is always "in a meeting". They continue to say she needs to contact the billing dept but they are pretty useless.
