The start of this sounds terrible, but it ends well! I called ahead about a $100 off coupon they had sent me via email, and they said come on in without an appt. I came in, perused the selections, and found one I thought looked good on me. I had been in for my eye exam in January, so everything was still valid. The glasses eye exam is done for everyone everytime, so imagine my surprise when I find out that there was NO GLASSES EXAM ON FILE. I had walked in wanting to buy glasses, and now I couldn't because the doctor had not filed them in the system so they could make the order of the right prescription. To top it all off, my sales associate, Joanie, advised that this doctor was also off all week and would be in Friday. She profusely apologized for the inconvenience, and proceeded to honor the coupon and add a very nice discount off due to the inconvenience and for the office dropping the ball. Her customer service with me and being able to offer such a discount for my troubles made the whole situation much better for me, and I left knowing that I would receive a call Friday. So....Friday rolls around and no one calls. I call in and give as much detail about my encounter with Joanie, but they say there are no notes or anything related to what I'm talking about. A bit peeved at this point but managing it. Joanie calls me Saturday and is very attentive to my needs and the lack of follow up that should have happened. She took my payment information over the phone and seemed to be very keen on making sure I was satisfied. The glasses should be here in about 3-4 days. Joanie was absolutely wonderful through all this, and I know the situation was out of her hands initially, and she followed through with me as soon as she was back in the office. Because of her, I will be returning to Eldersburg for exams and eye related purchases. Thank you! read more

This business is the perfect example of a churn-and-burn operation. I made an eye appointment with them nearly a month ago. They then proceeded to send me half a dozen confirmation emails and at least three confirmation calls. I confirmed this appointment via phone the day before. After all of this, I arrived 9-10 minutes late (We all have busy days). Upon entering the office, I was told because I was late (you know 9-10minutes) that the doctor had went to lunch and I would now have to reschedule. I feel bad for this poor guy, he must have a dietary issue that cannot wait for 10 minutes. They should hide snacks for him/her around the office just so he/she doesn't pass out from hunger. What a terrible business practice. If you burn your customers for being 10 minutes late, you obviously do not value them. My best advice to anyone choosing to use their services would be to plan on showing up 30 minutes earlier...because if there is a red light or a traffic accident, they will not see you. The most incompetent people. The Doctors are okay. But I have never had a good experience when ordering or having glasses fitted... They also gave me the run around when I wanted my prescription so I could order them myself. This past time I wanted daily contacts. So I went and got fitted blah blah blah. I ordered a year supply last Monday 4/5. It is now Wednesday 4/14 and I still don't have my contacts because of their mess up. And I NEED them for his weekend. I would not leave a negative review if this were a one time issue. But my last few experiences here have just been beyond frustrating. One time they got my glasses in but the prescription was wrong! I've been a loyal customer for nearly a decade and I've never had a problem until today. I arrived to have my new prescription written and during the first part of the exam I was snapped at by a staff member for "not following directions" when asked to stand on a small yellow X on the floor. All new proceedures I was told, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong but every move I made to read the chart was criticized and this blond woman spoke to me like a child. Shortly after I see the doctor, while my eyes dilate and in clear distance of any customer in that store, I heard the two of them speaking about me with each other! Seems that the two were just hanging in the lunchroom and wow, with the door held open. How does it feel that a customer overheard you him right to his face. I'm sorry if I made your day rough ma'am. I didn't know that the X was the only thing that mattered. I didn't know that I couldn't move from the X to lay the glasses down, the ones you'd asked me to take off? And as for the doctor, that was the height of unprofessional behavior. Between the blond at the desk and the doctor, they've lost my business. If you come to understand that your workplace is not your home, when you learn to speak in a tone that is less passive-agressive and when you have learned how to apologize, you have my number. read more

I don't see why there are so many negative reviews on this location. They are the only ones who can actually complete my pre-screening tests (that puff of air...IYKYK), they always get me in and out in a timely manner and their prices are much better than other practices I've been to in the area. Dr. Cooper-Gregory is super knowledgeable. she caught an issue with a previous prescription on a recent visit and gave me multiple options when I was looking for a better brand of contacts. nothing but good things to say aboit this practice. read more

I have been a loyal customer since 2015. They have always sent me the right glasses and done a professional job until this year. The eye doctors there are great but I would never ever ever order glasses from there again. I ordered two pairs of glasses. One pair came in totally wrong, and they tried to get me to take them. Then they admitted that the glasses were wrong once I noticed (tried to give me the switch with a different pair I had been looking at) and blamed the Distributer. So they redid that order and then when the second pair of glasses came in they were two-tone when I had ordered all black. They claimed these were the ones I ordered and said they were the "black model" but they also said they didn't have that model on display anymore because it was out of stock and on back order. I found the all black model online and they told me to order it myself. They refused to provide the glasses I ordered and also refused to give me a refund. This business is very dishonest and I will never be back. I am considering legal action because it is so bad. I just wanted what I ordered or a refund of my order which was hundreds of dollars. read more

Update: I left a message with Sabrina on 4/5/21 based on Rob's message below. Still no response from Rob. Dr. Dobrusin rushed through my exam, and never asked questions about my concerns. I discussed my dry eye issues; he stated that this was something he could not address. He quickly referred me to another doctor outside of the practice. The website shows that they provide treatment for dry eyes, and another doctor in this practice did this during a previous exam. I will never ever return. read more

The staff are unorganized and not customer oriented. They have struggled in the past with ordering contacts and glasses. They have screwed the machinable part of the eye exam to the point where the doctor went out and redid the exam so he had usable information. They can never find my orders when they come in without a 15 minute search. They finally topped their incompetency. I received a phone call that the glasses I had been waiting for for over a month were in, when I went to get them they couldn't be found the the girl had the nerve to say it was the Post Office's fault. When I got upset she went and got the guy who couldn't be bothered to even introduce himself. His solution was if I was upset they would refund my money. Wonderful so now I could struggle with getting the insurance company to pay for another pair of glasses. This office has lost my business. read more

Recently moved to the area and were looking for a new eye doctor close to home. Found MyEyeDr thought our insurance provider site and made an appointment. Overall a great experience! Everything was on time, just about no wait, friendly staff and the Dr. we saw was great! She took the time with both of our kids as well as us, explaining everything is detail and (very importantly to me) not trying to push the sale of other service, such as glasses, contacts, etc, rather than just explaining what is available to us and what she recommends. One of the biggest surprised was the cost for additional exams (not covered by the yearly visit). We always elect to pay for those out of pocket and we used to pay for additional $40 per person and 2 tests, Myeyedr charges $20 per person and 3 tests - great value. Overall - definitely a great experience! read more

Long before being affiliated with MyEyeDr. I had a horrific experience with an opthamologist who improperly fitted me for contacts. I was convinced I would never be able to wear contacts, but Dr. Dobrusin encouraged me to try contacts and I have been wearing them for over 25-years. I have very poor vision, astigmatism, presbyopia, and have suffered an orbital bone fracture. Dr. Dobrusin has seen me through all of these problems. read more

I am so happy I went here. I had a female doctor (I'm sorry I cannot remember her name as it's a month later) but she was WONDERFUL. I have ommatophobia - fear of eyes. So going to the eye doctor is like hell on earth. However, the doctor was kind and patient and although I was in floods of tears, it was the first time I've ever been able to complete an eye exam. Ever. Even Wilmer was not able to finish an exam when I visited years ago. The doctor at the Eldersburg location took a no-nonsense approach and attitude as if "We will get this done!" and it worked!! I had been suffering from headaches for two weeks and was so worried there was something wrong with my eyes. But I was clear and can rest easy that there was nothing wrong. Customer service is horrible! I brought my outside prescription here to be made. The staff was rude and kept telling me I had no insurance which In fact I did after an hour of arguing about it. Received my glasses.... frames were not what I had previously selected and I can't see out of one of the lenses. Asked to have them re-maid was told they would have the manager call me. After several follow up phone calls I am still waiting for someone to call me. So, I used my once every two year insurance benifit and spent 400$ on a pair of glass that I can't see out of and for someone who is depend on glass this is aweful. So not only did I get a pair of glasses I can't see out of so did my husband... there is another 400$.. I want a REFUND!!!! First glasses were made incorrectly and had to be remade. Went in to pick up the corrected pair and sat there waiting for an hour, finally left before I lost my temper and ripped someone a new asshole. WARNING, WARNING, WARNING! Do NOT Go Here Unless You Would Like the Wrong Prescription, Wrong Measurements and Wait, Wait, Wait On or about September 29th, I stopped in and complained about my vision being blurred. One of the young ladies helped me and asked a few questions, took some measurements and asked the doctor, on his way out, what he thought. He explained that he thought it was probably related to my blood sugar and I should see my physician right away. Not bad advise and I was able to get an appointment with my doctor the very next day. She found nothing wrong, so I called back to My Eye Dr. and got an appointment with that doctor. I had just been there less than 6 months prior, so this was not typical for me to have to go back for another exam. After going through the tests, the doctor determined that my prescription had increased. When I asked why he said "you are a person who likes to see crystal clear and sharp", I found this an odd thing to say, as I thought that's why everyone wore glasses. I then went out and picked out another pair of glasses, very similar to what I was currently wearing. I was measured and paid nearly $500, again I had just paid that 6 months prior. 2 weeks went by and I decided to just call to see if someone could give me an idea of when I might expect the glasses to come in, since my vision was still blurry. I was told, "your glasses are here", I said "I will be right up", I was then told "I hope you can be here in 5 minutes, we close at 8:00pm", I said "yes, I can be there in 5 minutes". When I got there, I was handed the glasses, no one could tell me why I wasn't called earlier, but had me try the glasses on. When I put them on they were so far out of whack that I really couldn't see anything. The young man had me sit down and retook the measurements. His findings were that the original measurements were taken wrong and that the glasses would need to be remade. I then waited another week, called and was told it would be at least another week. I asked to speak with the manager and Kendra got on the phone to help me. I told her all of this, she was very apologetic and said to hold on, she would check on the glasses. She then said "they have been cut and are here, I will call you back in an hour or so and you can come in to get them". Once again, they were in?? Kendra called and I came in, I tried them on, but while they seemed better, they were still very "off". Kendra said to wear them, do not go back to my old glasses (only to drive home) until Monday, if there is still a problem call and we will go from there. I called on Monday to say things were no better and another eye exam was scheduled for the next day. This was a week ago today. After that eye exam the doctor (different doctor) found the prescription to be "too strong" and the glasses would have to be remade, yet again. I left the glasses and have not heard a word since. This is very disappointing and I will be calling American Express to dispute the charge for these glasses, since I still have yet to hear from them and my vision is still blurry. Nov. 3rd read more

I went here after my insurance was no longer accepted at the other eye doctor and I've never been to a place where they've been so unorganized. I came in only for glasses and a checkup of my vision bc that's all that I needed at the time but I wanted them to keep track of my contacts prescription also so I told them to just keep it on record and I'll order them on another date when I'm out. Well, I told the doctor that I had contacts to last me a while and that I ordered them off 1800 contacts from an old prescription and he remarks"that's illegal you know". (Pshh you didn't have to say it like that) He wasn't friendly, and he barely had any conversation with me the entire time I was in his office I felt uncomfortable with the vibe he was putting off like I was about to take a driving test or something. Well a couple months later, I go back to order contacts and they don't have them on file! They also don't have my glasses history either! I just went there a couple months ago, how do they not keep anything on file and expect to keep business. I was EXTREMELY disappointed. The actual eye exam lasted all of a few minutes, the doctor seemed in a hurry to get me out of there. The frame experience was a lot longer. I felt like I was at a car dealership! The person helping me to pick my frames out was pushy, even when I told him that I was only interested in one pair of eyeglasses...not reading glasses or sunglasses. I was still taken over to the "reading frames" anyway and he tried to show me a few pairs. There is a sign in the waiting area letting you know that the "Dr." has more than 6 pairs of glasses that he uses on a daily basis. I guess he can afford that many with the short eye exams and pushy staff which I am sure work on some type of commission. I will NEVER go there again. read more

They were GREAT! I needed an eye exam for a Rx for company safety glasses right away. They gave me a last minute appointment as quickly as the time it took me to drive there. I was serviced by knowledgeable and friendly staff. Having been out of work for a while due to an on the job injury and my insurance had run out. Being a self pay was taken into account. That brought the purchase of a pair of normal bifocals into the affordable range. However the only negative I can speak of, is I prefer aviator style glasses and the only ones available were the last pair of a discontinued style. read more

The funny part is all the employees in the store know and they said management won't do anything about it. I would like to start by saying the doctor was very professional and extremely thorough and overall just a nice person i wish i could use her as my personal doctor outside of myeyedr. That being said the rest of my experience has been terrible. I recently went through a devastating house fire and I lost everything including my 1 year old puppies on march 4th 2017 at 12 20 am the last thing i wanted to do was get glasses but i highly depend on them in order to see. The teller told me it would take about 10 days to get them which is normal except i waited the ten day without a call or text nothing i called on the 11th day just to find out it was actually going to take 16 days. So i got a call the following monday just to learn that there lab screwed up my glasses and they didn't pass the quality test and it was going to take another week to get them. Another week went by and i heard nothing on monday so on tuesday i called just to learn that the lab screwed up again while they were putting my glasses together they broke the frames. The tech told me another store close by had the same frames and he was going to have them and my lenses shipped to his store and put them together there now you would think with all the problems and stress they put me through they would have them overnighted and i would have them thursday at the latest well here it is friday march 31 and guess what still no glasses. I called them earlier to get an update and they told me they havent got there shipment yet but they would call to let me know if they came in or not well here it is 830 and they close at 630 and did i get a phone call NO! So i don't recommend this place to anyone and I will tell my story to everyone. If i didn't already invest so much time into this i would of cancled the order and went somewhere else. When i needed you to be at your best because i am in shambles you couldn't do it so why the hell would i support a business that doesn't care about their customers. read more

I purchase a pair of Ray Ban Rx sunglasses. With the eye exam, the total price was over $1000. My insurance paid about 70 % , I paid $324. I wear the glasses mist days to drive. When not on my face, I put the back in the case they gave me. I did purchase an extended warranty. On Saturday August 5 I stopped in because the hinge on one side is getting loose. A young girl took them and tried to tighten the screw. When she gave them back to me the hinge was worse than before. Since the purchase date was 21 months ago, they said there is nothing they could do the warranty is only for one year. I am not big on buying extended warranties, but can say I did not recall being told it is only for 12 months. I asked for a copy of the warranty. They were out of t.hem. They could only produce a copy of the bill that showed extended warranty. $24. It did not say one year , li,ited or anything that would tell you how long. I have purchased over 10 pair of glasses over the years from them the last pair had to be remade. I was told they could and would do nothing for me. When I told them that for $1000 I expected them to last more than a year. They were pretty blunt and nasty. I pretty much saud this is very poor customer service. I think whoever runs this place now is doing a poor job. Over the pat 10 years most of my dealings were fine. They messed up the glasses I bought last year and it took another month to get them corrected. This issue with the sun glasses has put me over the top. I contacted the manufacturer and found they have a 24 month warranty. I bought an extended warranty. What the heck did that get me? 12 less months of warranty. I am not done with them I will contact their home office and that of Ray Ban. My lenses look like the day I got the, the hinge failed, not from any abuse but normal use. I keep them in the case when not on my face. I would think for $1000 the hinge would not wear out in less than 2 years. The woman who said she was the manager was very rude and nasty. This l,ace has gone down hill in the past few years. There are too many other places to get your glasses. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and spen your money elsewhere where they appreciate your business. read more

I have no confidence in the doctors here. I've been to this office twice with different patients. Each time they found that the patient needed progressive lenses. This includes a 12 year old. Their prices on progressive lenses are incredibly expensive compared to what my insurance provider suggests as retail price. In the future, I'm going somewhere else where I am more confident in the doctor's motivation. read more

I have been to this place a total of three times in the 8 years I have lived here. My first time there was decent although they pulled a bait and switch when you bring in the coupon they mail out. They are very pushy about selling their contacts and glasses. The second time I went there, I ordered contacts and an extremely expensive pair of prescription sunglasses. As another reviewer mentioned, they never called me to tell me my glasses were ready. I called them after what I felt was a ridiculous amount of time. I picked up my glasses and they were waaaay off. They re-measured them and said they had to be remade. I went through this two more times and I still have a pair of sunglasses that are not the right prescription. They even had the doctor check my prescription again. The guy basically said tough luck, they didn't know what else they could do. Against my better judgment, because I was over extended on my lenses and they were the ones who had the earliest available appointment, I made another appointment over the phone last week. When I showed up for the appointment, they had no record of my appointment at all! I was so angry. I could not make an appointment for any other local places for weeks and I'm overextended on my lenses. In hindsight, I see there is a reason why appointments are so readily available here. This place is by far, the worst business I have ever dealt with. Please don't waste your money or your time. read more
