The email notifications could use some improvement--the scheduling link in the email went to the wrong system--but the scheduling link on the website worked perfectly fine. I didn't buy new frames this time since my prescription didn't change and I'm still happy with my current pair. They do have a wide selection of frames, and while many lean toward the expensive side, the quality looks good and there are plenty of nice options to choose from. Overall, a positive experience and I'll continue coming back.

From the start, my eye exam felt rushed. When I struggled to see the letters clearly, the doctor switched to shapes instead of taking the time to ensure an accurate prescription. After the exam, she had me try on the prescribed contact lenses, but I couldn't see well with them. Instead of adjusting the prescription, she decided to keep it the same as what I walked in with. Another challenge was the eye machine used for the exam--it kept fogging up, and the doctor repeatedly wiped it off with a cloth. This happened during both of my visits. I asked about it the second time, and she told me to try breathing through my nose. I also inquired as to whether warm temperature in the office could be causing the fogging, and she responded, "I guess." The equipment looked more like a temporary plastic station rather than high-tech machinery, and I've never had this issue at other optometrist offices. When I picked up my glasses, I immediately noticed something was off, almost like a smudge. I voiced my concerns, but was advised to try them for a couple of weeks. After struggling with them, I returned for another exam, but the doctor still couldn't get my prescription right. At that point, she mentioned cataracts, which had never been brought up before, and referred me to a specialist. When I asked to return the glasses since I couldn't see properly, I was told they have a no-return policy, even though they failed to provide me with functional eyewear. I left messages requesting a resolution, but no one ever called me back. I spent a significant amount of money on glasses that I cannot use, and the lack of professionalism and care at this office is unacceptable. If you value your vision and customer service, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

Brian listened to me as I explained my ordeal. Every time I thought the glasses were adjusted okay at the original shop, after wearing them I had issues with the nose pieces, the ear pieces, and the non-horizontal fit (sitting crooked on my face). So of course I did my annual eye exam in 2019 with OptimEYES and received the same treatment I did the year before. Who knew an eye exam could be easy and flawless? I also needed new glass frames and Antonio swooped in and helped me pick out a pair that was stylish and comfortable. His patience and explanation of frames made the process stress-free. It has become extremely difficult to schedule appointments with Dr. Hinkle or Dr. Boyle. After waiting weeks, we've arrived for appointments only to be told they were canceled without notice. Additionally, the front office staff is often rude and make simple questions feel like an inconvenience. The newer staff responsible for fitting glasses also do not seem to take the time to properly ensure a correct fit. This has been very disappointing given the level of care we experienced in the past. Unfortunately, today was the tipping point and we will not be back.

The optician was helpful with showing me all the different glasses they have in their shop, and none of the staff members were pushy about me having to buy the glasses there. They have a big selection of different styles. If you can't find what you're looking for, they offer to look things up for you or they give you the prescription so you can buy the glasses and/or contacts somewhere else. Great doctor, great office! So happy I have found them.

This is the opposite when it comes to Dr. Ly. It's so easy to make an appt online and the doctor sees you on time. Dr. Ly explains everything that she is doing and what each machine does during the eye exam. She is also keeps up to date with new types of eye wear such as blue-lens glasses and transition contacts; and will recommend the type of eye wear needed for your daily activities.

Very bizarre experience with this shady practice. I purchased a new pair of Oakley glasses frames…read moreonline and dropped them off at Modern Optometry to have lens created and inserted into the frames. I paid over $300 for this process. Two weeks later, I received a phone call informing me that their lab BROKE the glasses frames. I asked how to remedy the situation and was informed that they were not responsible for the broken frames because I signed a waiver. Huh? So, essentially, I was out of luck and out of a new pair of beautiful glasses frames. The sales person (Amanda?) said she would email pictures of the broken frames. Two weeks went by and still no pictures. I called again and spoke to this sales person, and she informed me (in a very awkward manner) that she received "undeliverable" messages from my email address (which I've had for over 10 years.) So, I asked her to email the pictures to my work email address...and to this day, still NO pictures. She ended up refunding me the $300 for lens insertion. However, I am out a pair of new glasses frames without any real proof they were broken. What happened to my glasses frames? Did they lose them? Did somebody steal them? Totally unacceptable, and very shady business practices. I would not recommend this store.
