I recently visited Optics & EYECARE for my annual eye exam (contacts and glasses) and I must say, I really like the team here. They really took care of me. The young lady at the front desk is super sweet and helped me settle in. The doctor was very professional and thorough with her exam. She educated me on an issue that I had with my vision. Antonio, was very patient with me as I wanted to try on several different frames. He helped me pick out some really nice Hugo Boss frames for work and a pair of Ray Bans sunglasses.  He sat down with me and went over insurance and pricing with me.  He even fixed an older pair I had that was missing a screw. Really bad experience They sell frames 4 or 5 times higher than any other regular place. So For example I got the frames I wanted for $60 somewhere else and they sell them for $250, my insurance covers $130, so I would have to pay $120 out of my pocket. I felt I was going to get ripped off so I left. Once I came back with the frames I got somewhere else I requested the lenses as per the Dr's instructions (prescription) and the provided "recommendations" for upgrades. I felt more like yelling and forcing me to upgrade rather than recommendations, which I ended denying anyway and went with the standard options (fully covered by the insurance) and they wanted to charge me $50 "mounting fee", first time I hear about this fee. In the end, I left the store knowing that I will never come back. Really bad experience for me and my family read more

I came to Optics&EYECARE about a year ago but did not have time to write my review until now. Like many other patients, I came here due to the high Yelp ratings. Unfortunately, unlike them, the overall experience for me left much to be desired. First of all, I have no complaints about Dr. Mohanan's professionalism. She answered my questions and explained things to me patiently. When it came to frames, I find their selection more expensive than the other eye care practices I've used in the past. After the eye exam and frame selection, I told them that I was traveling out of the country in 6 weeks and would need the glasses to be ready before that. The lens technician assured me that I would get my glasses by then. A week before my departure, still no one contacted me, so I called them. They again reassured me that the glasses would be ready 2 days before my departure date. On the morning before I left for the airport, I had to call them again and was told it wasn't ready. I told them I was leaving that day and since the glasses were still not ready, I wanted a refund. They said OK and I thought that was the end of it. A week later, I received notification to pick up my glasses while I was still overseas! I had to call them again to express my frustration and reiterated that I wanted my refund. They refunded me a few weeks later. Throughout all this, no one bothered to call when the glasses were not going to be ready, even after they reassured me that they would be by the date they committed to. I had to keep calling them back. And I didn't even receive an apology for the bad service. read more

I have been to many practices during my lifetime, as I have required glasses since I was 6 years old. My expectations for an eye exam are not very high, I just need a contact fitting for my yearly prescription and I go on about my buisness. My experience at this practice left me in awe, that I needed to write a review. I made a last minute appointment, when I suddenly realized I was out of contacts and I was about to go on vacation. Not only did Dr. Mohanan squeeze me in, she called my insurance to double-check me on my coverage, after I had assured her that I did not have any. When I got to the appointment, she informed I did have some benefits, which already made me trust her because I knew she had my best interest in mind! She also made me realize that my discomforts in my current contacts were not normal, and there was a better option....she was right!! Not only was Dr. Mohanan kind, professional and thorough, she also took extra step to ensure we were comfortable with each step of the exam. Sooo happy w my experience!! Dr. Mohanan is the best optometrist I've been to in literal years. She is super attentive and makes you feel like you're her only patient. The best part of this experience was the friendliness & professionalism of the staff. I'm someone who doesn't do a great job of keeping up with annual eye exams or check ups. The staff here assured me I wasn't alone and did not make me feel nervous about that. The dr is very knowledgeable, super nice and not judgmental at all. She explained everything to me in a pleasant and patient manner. She seems to really care about my eye health and monitoring for changes from here on out. I feel very encouraged to come back here again and be more up to date with these vision tests. I noticed they are really practicing safe covid measures & cleanliness. Every pair of glasses you try on goes into a separate tray to be cleaned before being placed back on the shelf. That being said I didn't feel pressured at all and was able to take my time and go through as many pairs as I wanted. This is probably not the most cost effective place to purchase glasses (compared to America's Best, for example) even with their in store promotions but may be worth it for the quality. read more

WOW! Seriously OMG Right now! Best eye exam in the history of my life. State of the art equipment. The staff is so friendly I don't even know what to say. I felt like I was at someone's house on thanksgiving and not like a house that you have to go to because your dating some girl/guy, (you know the whole Bruce Jenner thing if that's your thang) and need to make a good first impression. I mean like your families house and your cousin that you would play Gi Joe with when you were kids was there greeting you. The décor is so fresh and inviting. Dr. Mohanan needs to train other Doctors on how to treat patients. Like write a book and be on Oprahs new show so that everyone will read it like that 'He's just not that that into you' book guy that girls still don't understand when you let her know you're just not into her. Small place and it was busy when I was there. My only compliant is that I ended up waiting 21min past my appointment time but it was quite busy. But as soon as I went in, it was done within 10 to 15min and I was out. I love speedy service and she's straight to the point and no BS. She doesn't attempt to upsell and traumatize you with separate bills, one for exam, another for glasses, and etc non sense.... My past optometrist does that and I hated that experience. I had a string of very poor experiences with various eye doctors in the area. I have both astigmatism and dry eyes, and am a contacts wearer. Well, was - I have been out of them for about 2 years because of how uncomfortable they had gotten, and my complaints were dismissed by my former doctors. One even sent me to a surgeon, who of course told me there was nothing he could do. it was just a lot of wasted time and money. I broke my 4 year old glasses yesterday and called a few offices; I ultimately decided to come here because the woman who answered the phone (who turned out to be the doctor!) took my concerns seriously and recognized that I couldn't wait. She assured me they would be able to take care of me. Dr Monohan was amazing - she took her time to go over my concerns and history and was able to effectively address them. I left her office today in contacts and am still comfortable, a few hours later. Her office manager took his time with me going over my vision benefits and helping me choose a pair of glasses I won't be embarrassed to wear. Honestly, there aren't even words for how happy I am right now. And they assured me that if I have any issues, I can go back and they will keep trying until its right. I could nt find an appointment with my regular eye doctor and after reading the reviews I decided to visit OptimEYES for my family . The prices of the same brand of glasses and contacts were higher compared to other stores .but that dint motivate to write a negative review.. i normally wear glasses and occasionally while playing active sports I wear contacts so it was not up til a couple of months that I tried them. The lens fell off while running. I thought this was a one off occurrence but the next time I took an extra pair. I was nt surprised when the lens fell off in the next couple of hours but it was a problem when the second one fell off within 30 min.. I was told it was a problem with the fitting .. called OptimEYES and they offered me to refit at a price.. considering it was an error with the fitting I was nt expecting to pay extra ... You can tell that Dr. Mohanan truly cares for her patients. She is the first ever eye doctor that actually went through different contact lenses to make sure the wear and vision was comfortable for me and my eyes. My previous experience with my old optometrist was a complete nightmare. She refused to understand my concerns and would jump to sudden conclusions that I may have glaucoma.
