Please go elsewhere!! This place is a joke. We have good vision insurance. I had purchased a pair of glasses In October, 2024. The lady helping me recommended a pair that was under the display in a cabinet. I didn't mind at the time. I paid approximately 200.00 out of pocket. I declined the warranty as I've never had any problems with my glasses. I get a new pair through my insurance every year. Two months after purchasing the glasses, the lens fell out. I took them back for them to fix them. Three days ago the lens fell out for the second time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I took the glasses to them yesterday to have them fixed. They close at 6:00. I got there at 5:30. The door was locked. The girl did let me in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She worked on my glasses for about 15 minutes. Came back and said the screw is stripped. So, either the frames were bad when I bought them or they stripped the screw. She asked if I bouget the warranty? I said no. She said she was sorry, she couldn't do anything to help me that she could had I bought the warrant. She said they're almost a year old. NOT AT ALL. I would have to wait until October for a new pair. I called my insurance company thi morning to get a copy of the bill. Total price 1129.00. I paid 200.00 out of pocket. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called the billing department to get an explanation of the bill. I was told that they didn't have access to the bill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This morning, I went to Walmart visio center. They fixed my glasses and didn't charge me anything. No wonder they have a low review. I have my glasses made there. Paid for a tint when I pick them up. They did not have the tint so they told me they would order them with it. When I picked those up they were darker than sunglasses. Had to have them for a month. Why they ordered more when I picked them up they were still too dark. I told him exactly what I wanted the third time I picked him up again. They were still way too dark so I ordered again. When I went to pick them up they were still too dark. I don't understand why they couldn't get what I wanted. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told him exactly what it was so the fourth time they waited till I left the office. Then they called me and said they would not be ordering me no more.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So I'm walking around with sunglasses. I recommend you never go to them.​ read more

I started going to this location when they were Wing Eyecare. Never had a problem. Even on my first visit after they were bought by MyEyeDr. (stupidest name ever), I still had a good experience. But something changed between then and now, and here's what happened to me. Went for a routine checkup and to get some new reader glasses. Wasn't really having problems with my vision (except the strength of my existing readers). Doc told me my vision hadn't changed much so he wasn't going to really make any changes. While I was there, I decided to get a new pair of specs and a new pair of shades, just because my current ones were starting to get some scuffs. I should add that I wear progressive lenses. When they finally arrived, the prescription was horribly wrong. Everything was double vision and it hurt to look through them. Staff sent them back to have them remade. When they came back the second time, they were STILL wrong. So they had the Doc look at my vision again and he said 'yeah, I really didn't make any big changes, this is weird', so he looked into the order for the glasses and found that they'd used a different progressive 'profile' than the one I'd had before and probably that was the problem. Sent them back again. 3rd time trying the new glasses the regular specs were not great, but seemed ok. The shades, however, were STILL not right! Told the optician who just said she would see what the manager could do. Left with the regular specs and hoped that they would correct the shades. Got a text an hour later telling me my eyewear was ready for pickup. WTF. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Reached out to patient relations, who in turn reached out to management at the office, who then called me to ask me to tell them "a little more about what's going on with the glasses". I'VE ALREADY TOLD YOU THREE TIMES[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. So I asked for a refund for the shades. I suspect that they changed lens manufacturers or something, because I was getting 'Varilux' advertising in my new glasses cases this time, which is something I haven't seen before in that office. The patient relations person swore that they hadn't changed lens labs or anything. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And every time I went back to pick up my glasses and told them I couldn't see out of them, the staff said the same thing: "It can take a while to get used to new lenses". Yes, I know, I've been wearing glasses for 37 years now; something is NOT RIGHT with these glasses[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. It's now been three weeks since I picked up those new progressive specs, and this morning I went back to my old pair and put the new ones away for emergency use. My eyes never got used to them. I'm going to start seeing a local Optometry office soon. This is what happens when big corporations take over small businesses; THEY RUIN THEM. read more

Oh look, yet Another my eye Dr location that's only open when it feels like it. It's already a giant pain that I have to come out to this office for everything because the office closest to me can't function any more but even when I fight through traffic to pick up my contacts no one is there even though according to the website it's supposed to be open until 6:00. They also refuse to mail to my house or to the closest office. I'm not sure how I'm going to even get what I need at this point Don't use this chain. Save yourself the hassle. Overall, I was pleased, at least with the beginning of my appointment. However, the woman who helped me at the end of my visit with purchasing glasses was, overall, an incredibly rude person. She dismissed multiple questions I asked regarding glasses and sunglasses and wouldn't discuss package deals with me. Continuously, she spoke down to me. I'm not sure if I'll be back to this location. read more

This is my third visit to MyEyeDr location in Newport. I was a customer of Wing for many years and never had a problem. The doctors are actually quite good and I have no problem with them. It's the optician staff that is a problem. I had two new pair of prescription lens ordered, one regular and one for sunglasses. I chose to use my same frames that I have rather than buying unnecessary new ones. The lens swap out was fine for the regular, but apparently the sunglasses were made too large for the frame. I was not advised of this until I had waited approximately half hour and only then the front desk lady casually mentioned that they were having trouble fitting my sunglasses. The lady that was working on my glasses never came out to speak to me regarding this until she had actually wedged the news len in to the frames. I was not given the option to tell her that I would not accept these glasses as the lens will pop out without warning which she verified that it is a possibility. Since I had waited over an hour by this time, she did not want to remove the new lens and refit the old so I could wear them when driving. My eyes are very sensitive to sun. So now I have the new lens and she reluctantly is re-ordering the new. She also advised that there is only a 50/50 chance that the new lens will fit the frames properly because they do not have access to the frames. I have never been told this before and never had a problem. Once this is resolved with either getting the new lens made correctly so that they fit, or I will take my prescription and have it made somewhere else. I had ran out of contacts, so I scheduled an appointment because my prescription has gotten worse every year, so didn't want to order more if my prescription was going to change anyway. Apparently I was a month too early for insurance to cover my exam, so Sandy called to get me rescheduled so I wouldn't have to pay out of pocket, and gave me a pair of contacts to hold me over until my next appointment. It seriously saved me and I am so appreciative. I also couldn't recommend this company more in general. I've been to both the Newport and Hyde Park locations, and I am always impressed by their professionalism and kindness. I've been to other companies in the past that would just try to upsell me and make me buy expensive glasses AND contacts every year even though I only wear my contacts. MyEyeDr is the first place to actually listen to me and only get me the things I truly need. read more

Terrible Md. very rude. Technician rude. All around bad company. Don't go. They are also very pricey for what you get.

Every single employee I interacted with was professional and helpful, and at no point tried to sell me something I didn't want or need (a frequent problem I've had previously). Dr. Michael and his staff were all awesome and eliminate any hesitation I have about going to an optometrist. Bonus: online scheduling and ordering is super easy. read more
