3 strikes, you're out! Nice people earned them the one star. 1. Being on a Medicaid plan, I didn't expect to pay $44 out of pocket. 2. Got an email saying your order is ready to pick up. When I got there, 2 signs on the door said they were closed AND if you were picking up an order, knock. The manager told me HE couldn't dispense anything. The Dr. just retired so there was no one certified to ... [lame excuses follow]. Nothing in the email hinted about the closing. 3. Next day I called before making the drive. "Of course we're here!" and the same excuse from yesterday. Yeah, yeah. When she unboxes the glasses, I see they used a different color frame! I picked out purple. She showed me ones that were labeled "light brown" - not the same! She started to explain how they would fix the mix-up, but I told her that was 3rd strike, and I was done. Refund my insurance and me. Today the $44 is back in my account and I'm never going near that place again. Extra innings: That was in May. It's now Sept and my insurance still hasn't gotten the refund. I'm on the phone between "MyEyeDr" & my insurance, trying to untangle the mess so I can get new glasses! read more

I truly resent the MD I saw, Morris or something today. Came in for a pair of glasses, already chosen frames, and then waited until my appointment. This Morris guy, kept asking me about my contacts received several months ago. I told him, I don't want contacts, I came for my glasses. Again he goes into contacts...... and again, the contacts, and again I told him, I am here for glasses, and laid a pair on desk in front of him. He turns and asks about my glasses ( on the counter in front of him). I am a highly trained medical personnel, and realized this discussion was not sinking in. He is asking about a product right in front of him, and doesn't know why? He needs some customer education, too bad that isn't part of their curriculum. So I left. read more

I made an appointment on the phone with a live human. When I got to the appointment I was told it was cancelled because I have received two messages to confirm my appointment and I did not do that so the appointment was cancelled. I looked on my phone while at the counter. I had no messages on my phone nor did I have any missed calls from MyEyeDr. They have my email address and I received an email address on Sunday ( my appointment was Tuesday) that they were looking forward to seeing me and gave me the parameters of the appointment, Arrive 10 mins early, Bring ins card etc. No message that we cancelled your appointment! If I could give 0 I would they are scammers!!! The VA sent me here to get eye exam and VA covered the cost they still made me pay $50 to get the paperwork that I had to submit back to VA. THEY ARENT SUPPOSED TO SO THAT ITS CALLED DOUBLE DIPPING! If this has happened to you and your a veteran and your eye exam is covered call (877)881-7618, 6am to 7pm and report them. The VA does not need to be working with these people when they are scamming us veterans. Not only was my whole visit cover I fought with them over a month to get my refund. The are all rude, unprofessional, and they need to be shut down. If you look at the picture youcan literally see where I had to pay, the office card they gave me and my VA disability paperwork that shows I was authorized for 1 eye exam, 999 images X2 , labs etc. Approved all they had to do was send VA the bill and still had the audacity to make me pay for the paperwork. Haven't been there in almost 2 years and they still think it's okay to text and call for me to go for a checkup. Stay far away and save your money. Do not go here. read more

I am waiting for someone else. As I am waiting in the lobby I have appreciated the level of care that has been given to everyone who walked in the door. I have seen joy as two young men came in and picked up his glasses. His friend so happy he could see they were punching each other. The technician who helped was so sweet and as happy as his friend was that he could see. A regular came in. She was dancing she was so happy. Waiting sucks. However sitting here and watching so many happy people brought me joy. Fingers crossed they give my wife that kind of superior service read more

While they have a decent sized staff and for the most part are nice, this place was ultimately a disaster for us. The exam rooms are cramped especially if you are have assistive devices like a wheelchair. One of the staff members in the exam area was a bit unprofessional and rude at times but for most part it wasn't bad. We picked out a nice pair of frames from the very small section allowed by the insurance but were quite pleased with the choice, until the glasses came in. They weren't made frame my daughter chose but in a child's frame. This is where things became a disaster. We were nicely given strange options with no apologies. When I spoke with management I was assured help but every time it fell short. We were sent to the Clearwater location specifically to get help from the manager and that was a very weird experience. She was on the phone and then went to her office and locked the door. Someone kind of helped us only to hand us over to another employee "that couldn't help us" and everyone else disappeared suddenly. It was so ridiculous I had to laugh. Back to this location where I thought things would get worked out, only to get the feeling we were getting the runaround again. I got some promises at this time but just had a bad feeling and called it quits. I took my daughter elsewhere and found a much nicer pair frames. I then returned to this location to find three other customers waiting and no one in site for about 10 minutes. Finally several people appeared out of the back and I was able to return the unwanted glasses. The associate asked why, which confused me how she didn't recognize me. It was at this time she finally said sorry. I found it hilariously thinking are they sorry because we're returning the glasses or because of their huge fail. I'm glad we aren't tied to this outfit by any pair of glasses. read more

Fantastic place! They are one of the few places that takes Covid19 seriously and as a patient I am thankful for this. They lock their doors, you call 5 minutes before your appointment to let them know you're outside, they have a hand sanitizer station and provide you with a clean mask. They wipe down before and after each patient including: machines, chairs and glasses. The tech was inviting and friendly, Dr. Sarno was very professional and patient with all my questions, and Nancy who helped me choose the right glasses for me. She was patient, honest and didn't hold back. She also tries to help you save as much money as you can which speaks volumes to the kind of person she is. Thank you to everyone here! read more

These folks are deceptive and dishonest -- they play games with the insurance company as well. They overcharged me for my deductible, claim I had upgrades to my glasses (not-covered-by insurance), but cannot identify what they are. Purportedly the manager insists they are right but will not itemize or explain why I had to pay more. They have lost two customers (me and my husband) because of this and..... because they sent their billing docs to the corporation's central billing who, ignoring their contract with my insurance company, tried to bill me/us several hundred dollars more than they were entitled to. worst eye doctor ive been to im my life. lied to me about the cost of exams. lied to my insurance company while i was on the phone with them. tacked on hidden fees against my contacts allowance to where i didnt have an allowance left to cover contacts for the year. and on top of all that i had to pay 60$ out of pocket before i left. these people are crooks and con artists and are so greedy to the point you have nothing from the insurance policy you pay for to be able to see. this exam was a complete waste of time and money. i will never go back here again and you should stay away from here if you want to have an honest and upfront conversation with your eye care provider about costs. people like this are whats wrong with the world. dont go here. read more

If i could give 0 stars I would! I went in for my 5 year oldest glasses Rx. Upon obtaining the rx, the store informed me they have a very limited selection of children's glasses. I understood and was about to leave to purchase the bendable unbreakable frames for her on the web. The store informed me they had a year protection plan that for $25 would replace the glasses for free if we brought in the broken frames, so i didn't need to purchase from somewhere else. Now, a few months later, I called to get the glasses replaced because she broke them, and they want to CHARGE ME for the glasses, even though I was told that the protection plan would replace them FOR FREE! Upon speaking to the manager, she said she would speak to her staff about the issue, admitted the mistake in her staffs communication, and STILL did not honor the replacement!!! If I would have known they were con artists, I would have purchased the bendable frames TO BEGIN WITH!!! DO NOT GIVE THIS STORE ANY OF YOUR MONEY! DO NOT FALL FOR THE SCAMS OF THE YEAR PROTECTION PLAN AS IT DOES NOT COVER A REPLACEMENT like I was told!!!!!!! Very sad a greedy large corporation will mot honor what they told me!!!!!! read more
