Great spot, lots of parking, situated right on the corner of the block of businesses facing South & East with big windows. When dine-in reopens, seating for many. The decor is very well done - a beautiful reclaimed barnwood wall all sourced and installed by the owners. Now a Pepsi shop, don't ask for the coke in glass bottles ;-) Yes they have Iced tea and other options, if you are looking for something not soda, they also have a variety of syrup for Italian sodas! Delicious, fresh, made to order, baked fries, not greasy with lots of topping. I had the Chilli Cheese Fries and my husband had the Philly Steak Fries. They were so good that when asked if there were gluten free options we were informed that all the items on the menu are gluten free - we could not tell the difference. Toppings spread throughout the fries so you get topping and French fry with every bite. Four stars only because I like a larger fry as opposed to the shoe string skinny fry, but that's more just preference. If I could do 4.5 for that I would have. My husband and I tried MyFries for the first time today, and it did not disappoint. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in December, so that fact that this is a certified Gluten Free restaurant makes it even better! I ordered the Taco Fries, and my husband opted for a "build your own" option. Both were delicious. I also ordered a side of Donair sauce, but it was not my favorite. I found the donair sauce very garlic-y, but the husband loves garlic and enjoyed it! As for the size options, while ordering, we found it was a bit expensive but each ordered the regular (medium) size. After receiving the order, we can confirm these are huge portions, and well worth the money! We can't wait to try more options next time we are craving some delicious GF poutines! read more

MyFries is an Edmonton-based fast food/casual restaurant that serves up poutine in many different ways. The fries are baked, not fried, making for a healthier experience. The cheese curds come from Quebec and they make their own gravy. However, customers can top the fries with basically any combination of meat, cheese, sauce, and veggies available, along with being able to choose from some pre-established options like donair, pizza, and pulled pork. I opted to build my own with fresh guacamole (very fresh and chunky), salsa (medium spiced), sauteed mushrooms (delicious), and homestyle gravy (unique). I did not opt for cheese or a protein. The fries themselves get their flavour from the toppings and taste very bland and starchy on their own - MyFries does offer fries on their own, so I would recommend a dipping sauce. Otherwise, it just felt like I was eating a combination of a lot of different, albeit delicious, ingredients without any real cohesion. The portion is also huge - I could not finish my regular serving. On the other hand, my dining companion raved about his donair fries, topped with donair meat, sauce, diced tomatoes, and cheese. He had a large and found it very filling - more so than a burger and fries. MyFries is a really unique concept - the food just did not really "sing" to me. Awesome fries! They are not deep fried either -- they use some sort futuristic machine that bakes them instead. You won't miss the deep fried flavour, and your waist won't miss the fat. A lot of things are Gluten free, just ask. They sound very knowledgeable about the ingredients that they use too. The place was very clean and kind of funky for a fast food joint. We bought two different items - the pulled pork fires and the donair fries. They were both great! I really enjoyed my donair fries and would definitely order them again. I tried some of the pulled pork fries and they were great as well. I am looking forward to go again. My Fries, it's not you, it's me. I wanted a nice and crisper fry for my Poutine and although it wasn't soggy, it wasn't crispy either. Must be the baked instead of fry method but is healthier. If you eat in, you'll find this is not your regular fast food decor. It has high ceilings and nice high chairs and tables that aren't crowded but not a lot of them either. There's also the chairs to eat around the perimeter on the counter. The woman working there was patient and friendly. She was great to take the order and also prepare orders. We had to wait but it wasn't long and I know the food was going to be fresh. We took our food to go and there was ample condiments, utensils, and napkins to get. When we got home, the cheese was melted and gravy all covering the fries. Each bite was a stringy cheese that could last forever, or so it seemed. No comments on the amount of topping but not sure if ordered with a protein, how much meat they would provide. The regular size had lots of fries and left me feeling full. read more

My Fries is a family run business that is a family favourite of ours! We have food sensitivies (celiac/nuts) and it's such a treat to eat somewhere you know is completely safe. The concept is so clever, the food is so good, and the people serving are so lovely! Every visit you are made to feel like a part of the family and the food is always on point. So many different varieties of poutine to choose from and all so tasty! It's a given that if we drive into the city for anything My Fries is also on the itinerary! Venue is simply decorated with a modern theme. Very clean, nice ambience for a low key date. Seating areas separated by string beads. Seating uses bar stools & high off the ground which doesn't appeal to me as a shortie. Food is made quickly and orders are customizable, love how the fries are "baked" rather than cooked in oil. I feel like they are heavy on toppings. Poutine menu options pack some serious flavor punches in my opinion. Retro Coca Cola style bottles are available for a slightly higher price, however, there is a decent selection of other bottled sodas as well. I had pulled pork poutine on sweet potato fries with aioli. Flavour was tangy, hint of heat and lots of sweetness... bordering on too much...Maybe I'll get regular fries with that poutine next time. But there are many different combos I still want to try. Price is reasonable and it's served in takeout boxes which is handy because a regular serving is too filling for one sitting. read more

I've been waiting to try MyFries for quite a while, and finally found myself with a couple of hours to kill on Saturday. Sadly, this was the most mediocre order of poutine that I've ever had. The fries themselves are "baked" instead of fried, which is a nice alternative, but left the fries with absolutely no flavor and not a pleasant texture. I ordered the Classic poutine and added "sautéed" mushrooms. The mushrooms were just soggy and I didn't eat them at all. I found the gravy to be flavourless as well. I added lots of salt and hot sauce, and there still was just no flavor. I was really hungry, so I ate most of it, but it was absolutely unsatisfying. The pros: the décor is really nice, the staff are friendly, and there's lots of parking! But for poutine, I'd rather walk 50 steps in either direction and got to Fat Burger or DQ :( read more

While the actual cheese curds are way better than the shredded cheese that most places used - I do wish that they put more curds in. It was about 75% fries, 20% curds and 5% gravy. The gravy does taste a bit off from traditional gravy and it's not as savory - but such is the cost to enjoy your vices when you have celiac. That given - I can appreciate what they are trying to do, and I'll support any businesses that caters to my lazy - half in denial about gluten - eating. The cheese fails to give the satisfying squeak that great curds provide which is pretty disappointing for an establishment that proudly touts its poutine prowess. Altogether myFries can certainly help you fill one or more cravings and many yummy custom options can satisfy you but if you're looking for truly top tier poutine and fries, you might leave slightly underwhelmed. read more

MyFries is kind of a gourmet establishment (they're high class enablers). Their food is prepared fresh everyday and the fries are natural and low in fat. Their fries are baked in an oven--not fried in oil. If you don't want the plain old fries, gravy, and cheese they have a create-your-own-poutine option where you can add or substitute several different types of meats, sauces, spices, and veggies. They also have their own exclusive poutine dishes such as BBQ Pulled Pork Poutine which contains pineapples and green onions and Chili Cheese Fries Poutine consisting of beef chili, jalapeño cheese sauce, and sour cream. I didn't go with any of the fancy options though. Call me old-fashioned or simple (everyone else does) but I was fine with the Classic Poutine. The server/counterperson was super-nice and friendly as she explained all the different menu options to me. She has a soothing quality to her as all dealer/enablers do--kind of like the vampires in 'Salem's Lot by Stephen King. Awesome Gluten Free Lunch!!!! I took my 4 kids here for Lunch and we all loved it. I was expecting a more fast food atmosphere but it most certainly was not. It is more like an actual restaurant feel , really nice and modern with bar height seating . My daughter is Celiac so we are always looking for good gluten free dining options with the least risk of cross contamination. The staff was super knowable about all the ingredients and very few items actually contain any gluten so the risk of cross contamination is very low . The fries are not cooked with any other gluten items like in most restaurants. The fries are also not deep fried and you would never know it, they are great just on their own. A much healthier option without the fat and salt like all other fast food places. There was so many choices for topping you could try and they all sounded great. It took us 10 minutes to choose what we all wanted. I think the Donair Fries were the best and the serving size is pretty Big. They are quite a bit more expensive than your standard fast food joint. 1 Adult and 4 kids cost $30 with 5 regular fries and a couple of drinks but it is worth the money if you want good quality ingredients and a healthy option. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a Good gluten Free Lunch option ( my daughter had no reaction after eating here) or anyone who wants really tasty fries without all the fat. read more

I've been to MyFries a couple of times and thoroughly enjoy it. This place takes the guilt out of eating poutine because the fries aren't fried. They are essentially baked in a rotating pressure oven. This means that the poutine isn't greasy or rich like most poutines, but that is a good thing because you don't walk away feeling overly full or sickly like after eating a conventional poutine. They have a wide range of varieties of poutine, including chili, reuben, pulled pork and butter chicken. Or you can go with traditional if you are a poutine purist like me. They have vegan and gluten-free options available also. Fries are made to order, so it takes a few minutes to get your order. But it comes out really hot and fresh. The have a trendy-looking dining area with some privacy "curtains" between the tables so you can sit and visit with your companions if you eat in the restaurant. They also sell a variety of beverages, either in retro-styled glass bottles, conventional bottles or fountain drinks. read more

Tried this place with a ADmazing Savings (previously SUTP) coupon and I was quite impressed. Very clean and spacious inside, with the (looks like commercial hot air) fryers and the assembly kitchen in full view. Staff were friendly (one was the owner I believe) and helpful. We had the Classic Poutine which is a better test of what is claimed to be poutine than those that include more non-traditional toppings. The gravy was quite flavourful and cheese curds plentiful in the Large order that I got. I noticed that they use a weigh scale to portion the cheese which is nice for consistency. The gravy was flavourful and not too salty. The fries were nicely crisp and not noticeably different than many deep fried offerings. I overheard the owner tell another customer that the sauces and toppings are homemade, though this may be true only with certain ones as I doubt she makes her own Montreal Smoked Meat. The fancier versions would be worth a try on another occasion. Only comment that I would have is that since I just had surgery one issue was noticed. It would be better to provide a couple of normal tables and chairs for some of the clients that would have a bit of a challenge climbing up on the elevated tables and chairs. read more

We headed here to indulge our Poutine craving and were not disappointed. Service was a little slow but the food quality and friendliness of the service made up for that. My partner had the Butter Chicken Poutine and I went with the Reuben Poutine. My partners food was amazing. The sauce was delicious, with just the right amount of spice, and the toasted coconut was a great addition. My food was okay. I felt like the sauerkraut was overpowering on this particular dish. I'm normally a fan, but this version wasn't appetizing. I ended up eating around it. Perhaps reducing the quantity of sauerkraut or switching brands would help. I also wished the gravy had been hotter, so the cheese melted. The eating area is modern, but all the tables are high tops. This is an issue for me because of a back/hip injury that makes sitting where I can't touch the floor uncomfortable and on a bad day, painful. It could also hinder wheelchair accessibility and could be an issue for people with disabilities. If you want great food at a moderate price, give this place a try. read more

Sometimes when I think about poutine I can physically feel my arteries starting to clog up... Luckily these oven baked babies made me feel like I wasn't being quite so unhealthy (I know, 'healthy' poutine is just an illusion). You can't even tell that they aren't fried! They are still nice and crispy, and on the thinner side! The gravy was pretty good! Not too heavy and nicely flavoured. My only qualm was the lack of cheese... There were maybe 4 cheese curds in the entire thing! I'm a girl who loves cheese, and that definitely wasn't a satisfying amount.
