Mel was quick to answer my questions and provide a very reasonable quote that was 20-40% less than other vendors. I just had to provide specific addresses for pick-up and drop-off. After spending the day in the Orlando area, Ron (Mel's husband) was able to pick us up early and make the drive to the Port Canaveral area. The van was a bit dated, but it was clean, the AC was on full blast, and Ron was a great driver. He pointed out some things for us to consider or try while we were in the area. He offered some pretty good suggestions. We were dropped off at our Port Canaveral hotels with efficient ease. When we arrived back into Port Canaveral from our cruise, Happy Hour shuttle was ready to pick us up. They just called and checked to see where we were in the disembarkation process. We called them back when they called our zone to depart and they were waiting for us in the parking lot across the street when we were officially off the ship. Then it was a quick drive back to the Orlando area for a post-cruise vacation stay. Communication was fantastic. We always had phone numbers and contact information just in case. Our group felt well taken care of by Happy Hour Shuttle.

The price was reasonable for a shuttle from our hotel to the cruise terminal (1.5miles away). This is where is went wrong: Our scheduled pick up time was 10:15AM. We were outside waiting for our driver before 10AM. Our driver was Bill (who I DEFINITELY DO NOT recommend). Bill texted me at 10:08AM saying that he was our driver and would be 15 minutes late due to traffic in Orlando. At 10:30AM he then said he was 4 minutes away. At 10:40AM I had to ask again where he was and he said 1/2 a mile. He arrived 30 minutes late. Due to his tardiness I only tipped him $10, as the men in our group loaded the luggage and the men at the terminal unloaded the luggage. Bill then rudely texted me after dropping us off at the terminal. And ultimately he finished the conversation saying he's an independent contractor and I'm a "cheap SOB." See pictures below of messages. The van itself with the trailer for luggage was fine and served its purpose but Bill's tardiness and rudeness via text message following the ride was uncalled for. Prior to booking, reading reviews on this company made me hesitant to book but I tried anyways. I wouldn't book again for the fear of getting Bill as our driver. I've read other drivers as great though, so that's the gamble you take. Maybe the company can find someone better than Bill.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more As a Choice Hotels gold member, I tend to pick the hotels and resorts under this corporation's umbrella. There was a specific reason why I needed to stay out this night, and it was satisfied. Got the job done! Despite the satisfactory completion of said important responsibility, would I ever stay at Quality Inn Palm Bay ever again? Well if I don't want to spend a lot of money, then yes. But that is a rarity and I will say that I would avoid staying here even so I would spend a significant increase of money to stay at a Hilton hotel. Though an address is provided, Quality Inn Palm Bay (which I will shorthand simply to Quality Inn for the remainder of this review) is located southeast of the Palm Bay Rd. exit of I-95. If it helps, it is just south of Golden Corral. On the outside, Quality Inn looks like... well... any other Quality Inn. That is not saying much as the design of such buildings seems to be universal. On the inside, the lobby has a bit of personality as it is decorated for the season. The front desk service clerk was a charm to talk to and I got checked in easy-peasy. I did get a gander of the first place and I see they have a pool and plenty of conference rooms, but nothing big enough to really host any kind of major convention. As for the room, it was a simple room with a king-sized bed, desk, fridge, ironing board behind the mirror, iron, and basic bathroom amenities, but everything was dated, the carpet was "lifting" off the ground, and a dull smell of mildew hung in the air. I powered through my stay, even spotting numerous accounts of unrepaired damage and one singular small cockroach. The next day, right before I finished my important task, I did indulge in the basic yet free breakfast. They had powdered eggs, sausage patties, cereal, juice, yogurt, and the like. Pretty much all you expect to have in a continental complimentary breakfast, they had. I will give them recognition for having a cool pancake making machine. Ultimately, this Quality Inn served its purpose with satisfaction with the task I needed for the stay, but compared to what is out there, I could definitely choose better. I will emphasize that despite this negative review, the staff were really kind and on-pointe when it comes to the service. I won't fault them for the condition of this hotel which is out of their ability and scope of control. As for any possible subsequent stays here. I will say never-say-never, but if possible, I will be spending my night elsewhere.

The lovely Marie who was so engaging and helpful with a can do attitude is no longer there. The current staff never welcomed us or even made a weak attempt to make conversation with us. No smiling, just acted like they were being put upon. I did observe this with other people waiting to check in. No waters were offered and they were always found not at the front desk when we needed something. I will say upon checkout Richard was nice , but we only saw him about 5 minutes, just long enough to check out. The breakfast which used to be quite good was really terrible this time. Even if you got there before they opened, the bacon was either flabby or burnt and that was the best thing offered besides a basic bagel or toast. Sausages cold and do were eggs and potatoes. Not even edible. One bite of each and it was over. The hotel is located close to some good restaurants, so we made it work. That staff was even less friendly and that was not the case on prior visits. The room was nice as always though someone banged hard on our door in the middle of the night. We did not open the door, but think it was just some rowdy teenagers ( what we could see thru the peephole). The rooftop restaurant and bar was closed for an event. Having said all that, we still love the location. Hope the front desk staff receive some customer service training and all will be well. I'm friendly and really get irked when people act like I'm putting them out with a simple question.

I could hear people talking normally in other rooms. Upstairs guests clearly walking gently in their room were audible in mine. Children running around unsupervised late evening thanks to an absent quiet time policy and poor parenting did not enhance my stay either. Not recommended.

And it's honestly only maybe $20 more for a family of four one way vs. the Disney Shuttle/Mears, and you are taken directly to your hotel in a nice car. Why wouldn't I keep booking them? We initially chose them because they have free of charge car seats and booster seats upon request (and because I am not going to start my vacation waiting for a bus, then waiting on the bus while everyone else gets dropped before you). George has always picked us up at the luggage carousel and gets us where we need to be in an efficient and friendly manner. We used a different car service once, and we had to go looking for the driver because they were circling in the car (not parked and waiting). More stressful and I think it even cost more somehow? Even though my kid is technically old enough not to need a booster seat in Florida, she still small enough that she needs one for safety reasons, so I love that I don't have to think about it. We get to start our vacation off like VIPs in a quiet car, not smashed in yet another tiny seat with a million people after being on a plane all morning, or waiting in line for an uber. We love them and will never not book them!

From the get-go, George exemplified superior customer service. He was kind, responsive, and detailed. He reviewed our pickup and dropoff windows to make sure we planned accordingly for TSA, delays, etc., and this extra touch gave me great confidence in his company's abilities to provide top-notch service. Our arrival flight got delayed for 14 hours, and George was extra communicative throughout, texting and emailing that they were tracking our flight changes. When we finally landed the next day, exhausted and delirious after spending the night in the airport, his driver Erol was amazing, kind, and helpful in retrieving luggage. The Towncar itself was clean, comfortable, and the perfect reprieve after a harrowing day and night of traveling. George himself picked us up for the departing flight, 15 minutes early to boot. He was kind, helpful, and easy to talk to as well, just like Erol. I would highly recommend this company to anyone visiting the Orlando area. It can get pricey depending on the length of the trip you are booking, but the investment is worth the peace of mind, superior customer service, and pristine fleet of vehicles.
