We had one steak knife and butter knives to use to cut everything we had. The elevators moved quickly, but one stopped mid-floor and opened unexpectedly, which was a bit concerning. Our balcony overlooked the ocean, only bad thing was the smoke area was below and we could smell all smoke and couldn't leave the door open. The toilet stopped flushing one night and maintenance was able to come fix it at 10pm. One door's lock stopped working due to batteries dying. Staff unlocked the room but had to be asked, can it be fixed. We would like to leave the room. Outdoors, there are a couple of cats around, and walking to the beach from the grill area had a noticeable litter box smell. Beyond these things, having multiple pools, hot tubs, and lazy rivers was a nice perk for the kids and made the stay more enjoyable. We played shuffleboard, but the next day employees took it down to repaint--not sure why this wasn't done during a slower week. There is another board upstairs near the conference center, which helped. The tiki hut was closed during our stay, which was disappointing. Overall, the view was great, the space was large and comfortable, and the staff was friendly. I'd say Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort has a lot of potential, but better attention to cleanliness and timing of maintenance would really improve the guest experience.

    This is for their Tampa Airbnb location!…read more This was hands down one of the worst Airbnb experiences I've ever had, and it all started the moment we arrived. We checked in at 10 p.m. and the property was filthy and clearly not cleaned or ready for guests. This is the entire reason for everything that followed. Immediately upon arrival, we called and messaged to report the condition of the unit. Instead of a prompt solution, we were told they were "working on it" and then left waiting for hours with no real updates or action. I called repeatedly and spoke with three different people, all of whom claimed they could not reach the actual owner of the property to explain the situation. We were left sitting outside of a dirty unit late at night, being told solutions were coming when in reality nothing was being done. We were left in limbo until 3 a.m. with zero resolution. At that point, we had no choice but to book accommodations elsewhere. This resulted in over $400 in unexpected expenses due to their gross negligence. We were explicitly told that these expenses would be covered and compensated by the owner, and I have this in writing. Fast forward to 10 a.m. the next morning, I didn't receive a call, only a text, asking if we wanted to return to the property if they cleaned it then. That is 12 hours later. Completely unacceptable. We explained that we had already secured other accommodations because we were left with no choice. Despite their promise to cover our expenses, they completely denied it afterward, showing a total lack of integrity and accountability. No guest should ever experience this level of negligence, poor communication, and dishonesty. I truly wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy. I will never book with this host/company again, and honestly, they should not be operating on Airbnb at all.

    Great Experience…read more Here's the lowdown here. Your vacation spot depends on the property owner/manager. The unit we rented had two rooms and two baths and was perfect for two couples. Oceanside on the 8th floor with amazing views and hearing the ocean crash all night and to wake up to. The unit was brand new, bathrooms and kitchen. The location was a good one too. Close to the boardwalk but not more than 15 minutes from North Myrtle or Murrills Inlet the other way. For 1200 bucks for week right on the water for four people, I don't think you could get a better value either. Forgot to mention the nice amenities of the lazy river pool, big hot tub, indoor pool, and a 30 second walk to the beach. Nice for families as well. I would recommend every time but make sure you get a good look at the unit pictures and ask the renter when the unit was last renovated. It's important information. Thanks

I rented 2 condos for my family. Room 553 was the worse; flickering lights, broken light panels, stained furniture....We didn't even use it. Room 557 was okay, but not big enough for us. The only good thing about this place was James, the man working the front desk. He truly went out of his way to help us.

    If I could give 0 stars I would... First and foremost, the elevators need to be repaired. The…read moreentirety of our stay, only one out of three elevators were working. The lines were out to the parking lot of people waiting to get on the elevators at any given time. This is not only inconvenient, it's a safety concern for people that are physically unable to use the stairs. Secondly, we were unaware that the beach access outside of our room would be off limits due to construction. We were told that this was a city project, however the hotel could have done their due diligence in informing customers ahead of time so that we could decide if we wanted to stay there. Third, there was a sewage smell that permeated our room during one of the days of our stay. It seemed to come from the pipes. In addition to the smell, there was slow drainage in the bathtub in our room. We had to wait 10-15 mins between each shower to allow the water to drain out of the tub. The worst incident of all was the roach in our room. At 1am Saturday morning, my 4 year old was frightened by a roach crawling on the dining table next to where he was sleeping. We contacted the front desk immediately, was told that they will put a note on our room so a supervisor will call us in the morning to arrange for the room to be sprayed and discuss other resolution. We didn't receive a call the next morning, so I went to the front desk Saturday afternoon at 12:30pm and spoke with the supervisor. She said she would send another email to the exterminator to follow up. She also said she would follow up with her manager to see what else can be done for us, because they were unable to change our room. We followed up with the manager before checking out on Sunday, and were told that the room was supposedly sprayed on Saturday from 12:30pm-1:30pm. This was not true because we were still in the room at that time. Overall, our entire stay was compiled of inconveniences that ultimately made our experience there extremely unacceptable. These incidents are also inconsistent with the websites claim that a $20+ million dollar renovation took place.

    Long story short, my non-English speaking mom "won" a 4-day/4-night cruise and a 4-day/4-night…read morehotel stay all for $299 by a representative named "Heavenly" (hehe irony intended) through an expo called the "The Travel & Adventure Show". She explained that we would have the option to pick which one of the two to go on first, how much our food voucher we would've gotten, and we would pick 4 out of the 9 locations for our vacations. In other words, she didn't explain how the schedule generally works. When we called Capital Vacations, it turned out that Heavenly left out a couple of key things. She left out a couple of key requirements: You need to have at least one vacation-goer that's fluent in English and earn an income. Otherwise, you would be ineligible, and would be required to find someone that meets those requirements. She also left out the fact that you have to pick 1 out of the 9 locations for your 4-day/4-night hotel stay and sit down for their timeshare presentation in order to redeem your cruise. When we demanded a refund from Capital Vacations for Heavenly's lying by omission, they refused to because it was past the 30-day refund policy via their terms of service. Their TOS was not discussed when my mom swiped her credit card on that day. I wonder how that manager I talked to on the phone would feel if he wasn't given key information whenever he had to sign up for something . Hopefully he won't feel pissed off for being manipulated to paying a lot of money, and just accept that the refund won't happen due to the terms of service! /s As of today, my mom was able to secure a chargeback which fully refunded money back into her credit card. So if any of you guys paid using Credit Card and the company refuses to refund it back, go to your credit card company and issue a chargeback. It'll take at 30-90 days but it's worth it! Don't know if Heavenly will read this review, but I have this to say to you. You should be sued for all your worth, and you should be in jail for manipulating me and my mom. Lying by omission to a non-English speaker (when you know that's the case) and using me as a translator to enable your lies is disgusting, despicable, and vile. I am ashamed and embarrassed to have ever talked with you, and you deserve every second of shame and punishment delivered to you.

There was a Walmart nearby, the boardwalk and boardwalk mall were close, and there were plenty of restaurants within a short distance. The breakfast advertised in the lobby definitely lived up to expectations. Every morning there was a fresh breakfast along with a fun waffle-making station, which we really enjoyed. The staff throughout the hotel were extremely friendly and welcoming. There was also a restaurant on the main floor with a great atmosphere, and the food was very good. There were only two downsides during our stay. The kids' splash pad -- one of the main reasons we booked this hotel -- was unfortunately out of service the entire time due to needing a new pump. We understood that these things happen. The other issue was that the rugs in the room did not seem very clean. We ended up keeping our shoes on in the room, so it wasn't a huge issue for us personally. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely book this hotel again

The hotel staff were friendly and professional throughout my stay. There was also a gentleman working during breakfast on Sunday morning (I didn't catch his name) who was especially helpful and attentive. He had on a red shirt and long hair. Service like that truly makes a difference. That said, there were a couple of downsides. My oceanfront room had a noticeable wet dog smell, which was disappointing. Also, the $25 per night parking fee feels excessive. I've chosen to stay at this property for quick beach trips over the last 10 years, and unfortunately, the parking situation alone will likely keep me from returning. I also want to note that the hotel is currently under renovations (it is the off-season), so that's something to keep in mind when booking. While I'm not disappointed in the staff at all they were amazing the added costs and room issue were enough to make me reconsider staying here again.

Unfortunately, over the past few years, we've noticed a significant decline. Cleanliness has become a recurring issue. We've had to call housekeeping back multiple times because the initial cleaning was not done well. This past year, there was hair on the toilet paper holder, visible dust in several areas, and the indoor glass tables looked like they were wiped with harsh cleaners, leaving them streaky and cloudy. In the past, if something wasn't right, we could call and it would be taken care of quickly and professionally. This year felt very different. The hot tub was broken, and instead of a straightforward apology or resolution, the issue seemed to be brushed off. We also had random sheets placed in our elevator that we didn't request, which added to the confusion. What was most disappointing was that when my mom left a review on their site, parts of it were altered and the negative feedback was removed--even though she still gave a generous 4-star rating. As long-time renters, it's frustrating to see the quality and customer service go downhill like this. We've made many great memories over the years, but we hope to see improvements moving forward.

We arrived after an 11-hour drive with my 89-year-old mother, who was looking forward to resting, only to find that we did not have linens. After hours of phone calls and follow-up, linens for our five guests were finally delivered at 10:43 PM. This was completely unacceptable, especially given my mother's age and the long day of travel. We also experienced a leaking toilet that was reported immediately, but it took two days before anyone came to address the issue. The biggest issue, however, was the ongoing construction noise directly below the apartment. Monday through Friday, from approximately 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM, we endured constant jackhammering, drilling, and extremely loud construction for the entire week. We contacted Elliott Rentals daily and even walked to their office, where the front desk employee acknowledged that the noise could be heard from there. We came to North Myrtle Beach for a peaceful vacation, and instead experienced nearly 50 hours of disruptive, unbearable noise. Ear protection was honestly needed. I work as a nurse, and I understand how important rest and quiet are -- everyone deserves the opportunity to relax on vacation. We documented the noise with videos and sent them to the owner daily. The response was simply "sorry," but no meaningful solution was provided. After three days of dealing with the construction, we were offered a different apartment on Wednesday. By that point, we had already unpacked, stocked the refrigerator and freezer with food, and settled in with five people, including my 89-year-old mother who does not move easily. Moving at that stage was not a realistic option. This unit should never have been rented without advance notice about the construction. A resident of the building told us when we were leaving on Saturday, "I hope you complain about this -- this has been going on since April." He also shared that when he previously rented out his own unit, he stopped using Elliott Rentals because of his dissatisfaction with the company. He stated that the construction was expected to continue for at least another three weeks. I contacted the owner and suggested that the unit should not be rented until the construction was complete. I was told that Elliott Rentals would notify future guests about the construction -- however, we were never warned. We are still waiting for a response from Patricia at Elliott Rentals, who handled our booking. Unfortunately, this turned what should have been our one relaxing vacation week of the year into an extremely stressful and disappointing experience. Guests deserve to know what they are walking into before booking this property.
