If I could give 0 stars I would... First and foremost, the elevators need to be repaired. The entirety of our stay, only one out of three elevators were working. The lines were out to the parking lot of people waiting to get on the elevators at any given time. This is not only inconvenient, it's a safety concern for people that are physically unable to use the stairs. Secondly, we were unaware that the beach access outside of our room would be off limits due to construction. We were told that this was a city project, however the hotel could have done their due diligence in informing customers ahead of time so that we could decide if we wanted to stay there. Third, there was a sewage smell that permeated our room during one of the days of our stay. It seemed to come from the pipes. In addition to the smell, there was slow drainage in the bathtub in our room. We had to wait 10-15 mins between each shower to allow the water to drain out of the tub. The worst incident of all was the roach in our room. At 1am Saturday morning, my 4 year old was frightened by a roach crawling on the dining table next to where he was sleeping. We contacted the front desk immediately, was told that they will put a note on our room so a supervisor will call us in the morning to arrange for the room to be sprayed and discuss other resolution. We didn't receive a call the next morning, so I went to the front desk Saturday afternoon at 12:30pm and spoke with the supervisor. She said she would send another email to the exterminator to follow up. She also said she would follow up with her manager to see what else can be done for us, because they were unable to change our room. We followed up with the manager before checking out on Sunday, and were told that the room was supposedly sprayed on Saturday from 12:30pm-1:30pm. This was not true because we were still in the room at that time. Overall, our entire stay was compiled of inconveniences that ultimately made our experience there extremely unacceptable. These incidents are also inconsistent with the websites claim that a $20+ million dollar renovation took place. read more

Yelp 100 Challenge #26 Visited during 4th of July Weekend. Resort staff was friendly and attentive and I even received a personal assistant that checked in daily. Dominican Tower has newly renovated the one bedroom rooms with a full kitchen, living room and a Murphy bed for an extra guest. Some rooms have double queens and others have one king. Wristbands are required at the pool area and there are indoor and outdoor pools available. Pool towels can be checked out by the pool. Beach chairs can be rented on the beach from 9am - 4pm. read more

Disappointing stay - would not recommend I am writing this review because I am not impressed with our stay so far. For the price point, this hotel simply does not meet expectations. Our experience began poorly at check-in when we were told our room wouldn't be ready for another hour, despite arriving at the standard check-in time. Upon finally getting into the room, we found that it wasn't very clean, which was quite disheartening. Beyond the room issues, the amenities have been frustrating. One of the pools has been closed half the time during our stay, and the other pool has loose, hazardous bricks at the entrance that need to be addressed. The service has been equally disappointing. The front desk staff has been consistently rude and appears entirely unbothered by guest concerns. We've had to repeatedly go to the desk to ask for basic items like towels, and each time, the staff seems annoyed that we are asking for help. Overall, this has not been a good value for the money. I would not stay here again, and I cannot recommend this property to others. read more

There's a star bucks across street attached to parking garage along with Ben and Jerry's. We got 2 bed 2 bath condo which was very comfortable and clean. Easy check in and check out. At this point of our vacation, I realize that it's not the Caribbean Resorts fault for the elevators constantly broken, cockroaches/ants, exposed wires, unfriendly staff when checking in and overall dirtiness (stairwells smell like pee, and you'll be in the stairwell often), it's really our fault for booking with them. We won't be back and won't speak highly of the Caribbean Resort. read more

This place is overrun with kids and is affordable so consider this when booking. They have a lazy river, big pool and a waterside. There's a restaurant neighboring although service there is questionable. The hotel on the other hand has made some recent renovations and our room was relatively newly updated. It was nice although I give that room 2 years of rentals before it will need another face lift. The hotel is always bustling with all walks of life. We smelled vomit in the elevator, our floor and by the pool bar. We just checked out and we probably came a month too early and should have targeted a stay in October as the beach was packed. I suppose folks are like us, just trying to hold onto summer. On a sad note, during our stay I've lost count of how much mamajuana I smelled on the beach and waffling into our rooms. All in all, the hotel staff were friendly and we didn't voice our discomfort as we noticed others voicing. I wouldn't recommend a stay here but the price is right. read more

I especially enjoyed the music by the pool. The staff was also very on their game. I was impressed with the pool area staff who were not afraid to stop kids from horseplay and roughhousing. I booked a room that advertised recently renovated but if I had not of known this, I would never have guessed that it have been recently renovated. I booked end of February/ 1st of March (off season) and was shocked at the noise level. The rooms are directly on the Main Strip and the street noise was horrible. We tried to call the property directly with our complaints, but sadly they have not called back or responded to any of the messages we've left since staying there almost a month ago, so I guess we're going public with it. We booked here because their website boasted "15 pools, hot tubs, lazy rivers, and water slides." My children love water slides, so it seemed like a safe bet. Unfortunately, when we arrived we were informed they actually only have one water slide, that it had been broken for a week, and that it would not be fixed for 6-8 weeks. Were we provided any advance notice of this, we would have canceled our reservation, gladly paid the cancelation fee, and stayed somewhere that could actually provide us with the amenities we were paying for (and anticipating). Aside from that...it only got worse. For an establishment that just underwent a $20 million renovation, they wasted their money. Got to the room after a long drive and attempted to use the restroom, but the toilet paper holder immediately fell off the wall. Upon closer inspection, this was not the first time it had occurred, as there were clearly multiple screw holes in the same area. If the contractor isn't going to bother to find a stud, might I suggest at least using a drywall anchor? But hey, at least when we tried to shower off after the pool, the water turned on. Unfortunately, that was where the good times ended. The faucet handle stopped functioning, we were unable to stop the water, and (for what it's worth), the tubs don't drain worth a damn. I would like to say that I was at least able to dry the kids' hair after the forever showers (since, you know, we couldn't stop the flow of water), but our hair dryer looked like it had gone 15 rounds with Mike Tyson (pre-Jake Paul, obviously). It only had one prong. There were wires sticking out of it. I could run over a hair dryer with my SUV and it would look better than this thing did. Honestly, at this point in the vacation (we were about three hours in), I contemplated plugging the hair dryer hoping it would electrocute and kill me, because that could have only improved our stay. They did include breakfast for two people a day (in coupons up front so you could just do five people for two days) which seems like a great perk, but this breakfast apparently did not include clean plates or cups. As a silver lining, the smell of moth balls emanating from the breakfast establishment was so overwhelming that most of us lost our appetites, so we at least only had to wait 22 minutes to get two plates, instead of however much longer it would've taken for five plates. Also, as for their "Kid's Club?I" IT DOES NOT EVEN EXIST ANYMORE! So for any parent thinking they would get an hour break from their children, you will not. In fact, other people (strangers), will likely pawn their children off on you because they are equally confused about the lack of short term child care options. As a final note, they did not provide bedding for the Murphy bed or pullout couch. I would highly suggest bringing your own blankets unless you can get comfy under some damp towels. I have more complaints (the hot tub was tepid at best because apparently hot water isn't a luxury they can afford, they would constantly close their pools, they locked the gates so we couldn't get back in from the beach, and the clean towel replacement was inconsistent at best), but most reviews have character limits, so I had to omit some problems. read more

This was our first time staying at The Caribbean and will not be our last. The resort is clean, safe, and friendly. The resort offers so many amenities that you wouldn't have to leave the property! My only complaint was the smoking on the pool decks. I realize that it's hard to police adults for smoking. It was frustrating to be relaxing and be hit with the stench of cigarettes. read more

Me and my family booked this place for 5 nights. I was extremely disappointed the minute I walked in the elevator. It's a Nasty place... DONT STAY HERE !!!!! if you are picky like me. This place is ran down. Even with the "newly renovations" the rooms smell, have big water bugs, and the fridge leaked the entire night. The resort itself is pretty nice. It is a resort group of about 3 different names belong to this resort and are described by certain building names. I stayed in the Dominican building on the 15th floor. The room was pretty clean and I loved the layout. I did not have a shower curtain and did have to ask. The room comes with a full kitchen, bathroom, and living room. The bathroom is pretty small and if you have more than 2 guest in the room it may become cramped. The bed is comfortable but the sheets are scratchy but that is also personal preference . The elevators are a little sketchy with them being too noisy and they lag a tad. The pools are nice they have a good selection, you do need to bring your own pool towel. Great access to the beach. They do not have hot water, the hot tub is lukewarm at best and the shower doesn't get the slightest bit warm. Towels in the room were dirty and need to be thrown away if they are technically "clean". The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. It was easy to order a pizza and business will leave deals on every door daily honestly. This resort is really close to a ton of grocery stores, right next to the boardwalk and has a ton of restaurants around. read more

Our couples get-a-way was great except for this hotel. We had problems which included a broken lock on the balcony door, filthy shower head and very loud heater and to top it all we found drugs (crack and a lighter) on the balcony. Thankfully we didn't have a child with us who could have found it first. The cleaning staff did a poor job. Also, there should be a quality check system in place to prevent this from happening. I didn't call the police. I informed the staff first. First the supervisor Tanya who moved us to another room with the broken loud heater then she directed me to her manager because we asked for half our money back for our troubles. Her manager Ms. Dawn never showed up to speak with us but relayed a message to offer us only $67 of the $472 we originally paid. ​I will be contacting corporate. Wow! I thought I read all of the reviews before I selected this place. The reviews on their site are great. This 3 bedroom condo is very dirty, worn and outdated. I checked in a few hours ago and complained but I have not heard from management. The lovely lady- Hattie at the front desk (she was so helpful when checking in, as well as the concierge) did call the room after I sent photos, but no response from her manager. We have a baby with us and do not want to put him on the floor or touch any furniture. read more

This is a hard one to rate. We stayed here twice within a week. The trip to Myrtle Beach was to go house hunting from Columbia down to Myrtle, we we were popping in and out of the area with staying overnight in some of the surrounding towns. The first night stay here at the Caribbean we were in the Jamaican building, double beds, ocean view balcony, nice. The second time for our one night stay I was going for the same room, but was able to upgrade to 505sq suite ocean front. Sweet right? Not really. We were placed in the Dominican building. The furniture was extremely cheap and dated, plus the veneer was peeling, beds were narrow, lamps broken or the shades were messed up, the head of murphy bed was covered with plaster from the ceiling in the cubbyhole. The saving grace for the four stars was the staff. Total kudos to them all! True Southern hospitality through and through and adding our stay in the Jamaican side. read more

We booked our stay in December around Christmas for end of June... disappointed to say the least. I didn't know there's two separate parts of the hotel. We have a hotel dividing our building to the actual building. We thought we were booking the main building. Beds were not comfy... building was dirty. Disappointed now we have to walk from our building to a different one just for our kids to swim in the pools. Elevators were broken and we weren't notified or offered a refund to stay somewhere else... our room wasn't ready at 4pm like they said it would be. We had to wait quite some time while everyone else was able to unload and go in their rooms just fine. Floor was dirty. So is the balcony and the room is pretty humid. There are water drops on the wooden and plastic furniture. read more

At check in the clerk asked if either of was married. This seemed odd. After checking in, we were directed to the "concierge." This person also asked if either of us was married. We asked for information on local attractions. The "concierge" created a great package of outings and said they could get our tickets at an incredibly marked down price. The catch: just complete a 6 question survey. We would have to drive to their office 20 minutes away AND attend a 2 hour presentation AND drive another 20 minutes back. Deceptive, shady, unprofessional, incredibly inconsiderate, and so very greedy. We got to our "ocean view room" that, actually provided a great view of the parking lot, no ocean in sight. The sliding door handle was broken, and the bathroom door would not shut. We called the front desk, walked back to the main building, and got a new room. Room was in disrepair and was unclean. There were several brown smears on the back of the drapes, a black spotty residue came up from the sink drain every time we used it, the floor was sticky, parts of the entry door were broken and splintered, the threshold carpet was ripped off and the subfloor exposed, paint splotches on the walls, water stains on the ceiling, and dirt and dust along baseboards. The elevator flooring was buckled and there were chips and scratches on the walls. We never found the Tiki Bar. The kids play area was under construction (this was not disclosed when we booked). The Starbucks and Ben & Jerry's are about a block away across the street Front desk staff were unhelpful, rude, curt, and dismissive. read more

Where do I begin...... with the hairy mold in the bathroom the lack of housekeeping in the room (they didn't clean anything not even sweep the floors in a beach resort?) the lack of staff to help...our neighbors toilet broke flooding the room underneath and to top it off the lack of security as someone tried to break into my truck. I had a positive experience this week at the Caribbean Resort. I booked thru an Air BNB, the condo I was in was a 3 Bedroom 2 full bath ocean front with balcony. The condo was terrific, large, clean with a full kitchen. Parking was easy with the 5 level parking lot across the street. The resort advertises heated pools, the reality is the only heated pool is the indoor pool, outdoor pools are outdoor ice cold. They do consider their hot tubs outdoor heated pools which is a joke. The water slides which were supposed to be open were not because they did not have an attendant available. The clientele is very diverse, many who have an affinity for Mary Jane, many sloppy and sandy elevator rides. Several instances where beach towels were unavailable first thing in the morning. It appears the report is struggling to find employees to work. The resort has a sister restaurant next door which offers room service and food at the pools, I did not partake. Overall the location served its purpose but I will be looking elsewhere for my next Myrtle Beach trip. read more

We need a 0 star option cause this resort is UNACCEPTABLE. Idk how tf they passed inspection because every floor has faulty wiring and dust EVERYWHERE. The beds were FILTHY with stains that we had to call house keeping to change the beds and I had to WATCH THEM to make sure. The towels in the bathroom were full of stains too and tried giving me even more stained pillow cases,blankets and towels. Ronnie the room attendant? The audacity of you guys to put an envelope in my room thinking I should tip for gratuity. This stay was DISGUSTING and I would never come back. The staff are so rude and don't even care about wtf is going on. The only good things about here is the Beach and Restaurant they have, THATS IT. I felt so uncomfortable staying there I didn't even want to sleep or put my clothes away in the drawers I left everything in my bag. The table and chairs were full of stains I mean wtf do you guys clean??? The doors you have to slam shut for it to actually close all the way. Me and my fiancé were itchy whenever the AC was on because of our dust allergy and the way they "cleaned" it was run a little towel through it. Horrible room for 2 senior citizens all the way as far as you could imagine from elevator. Dirty room missing appliances 4 inches of dust on tvs. No linens for Murphy bed had to call from cell to get through to the front desk safe room phone didn't work had to make 3 calls to get these things. Tried to change rooms at check in the girl at the desk said there weren't any but Mgr tried to move us after 2 days and she was told prior that we couldn't move everything again by ourselves. Refused refund for cancellation. Their own website said I could cancel up until 6pm the day before without penalty and I had travel insurance. Despite both, they refused to refund our money and we paid for a room we didn't sleep in, including taxes and fees. It was likely I would have visited again for a longer period of time but now I'd sleep in a car before ever giving this company a penny of my money. read more

I believe giving credit when credit is due and giving constructive critism when it is due. It doesn't take a lot to impress me. Clean and bug free is what I ask for and that is the type of unit I got. Bonus points for a modern design. Excellent view of the ocean with a private balcony and seating. Deposit wasn't too much and neither was the rates. However I had two issues. For the first three days of the six, I asked for a "Do Not Disturb" door hanger five times. Being a guy and the only one here... lets just say the place looks lived in and I don't want the maid to see how I live while on vacation. Furthermore, I have laptops and other portable valuable items. Not calling anyone a thief, just don't want to offer the temptation. Especially having two beds, three nights on each, clean sheets never was a problem and enough towels on day one to last the whole week. After promise after promise, I ended up making my own from store bought paper and pen. Now for the biggie. The elevators. Third was never operational but that might be by design for the more busier summer season. The first worked most of my trip until the door got stuck on day five. Open enough to squeeze through but should it give way and close all the way, I didn't want to be in between the door and jamb It was on level 1 so I wasn't worried. I have no problem with elevators in general when they act like elevators but if you are only staying one or two days... consider the stairs. Any other floor and that happens... nervousness kicks in. Second elevator is what gave me the most trouble. Alarms and momentary stalls on the 8th floor causes one to jump out of the elevator car and walk the stairs. It was the old Otis company which I believe have been out of business for a long while now and as time goes on, less and less maintenance personnel know how to properly fix and maintain them. Arrived on 9/4. Picked up rm key 922. Got to room smelly musty moldy ragged nasty dirty curtains at front window. Alone and I had all my luggage on the cart had to push that inside the room to go back to lobby. Asked to see Mgr. Never came. Sent mess by staff. 2nd trip to the lobby assigned room 930. This room not much better for smell. Moldy smell. Sent someone to spray the room. Didn't help much. Had to go back to rm 922 to get my belongings. Back to lobby to return keys to 922. The Mgr is in lobby talking to other cust. I made comment that when I needed Mgr she sent mess. She finally came over and told me that she gave me only room avail and that was best she had. I told her how ridiculous these rooms smell showed her pic of the curtains. She got on computer and finally said she had a remodeled room in 4 floor sent me to 432. This room was so much better. Smelled better nice curtains. I had made 3 trips to lobby and now it was move to yet another room on another floor. I started check in at 4:30 it was 6:55 when i got my stuff to last room and sat on a chair exhausted. I had visited this motel couple years ago and the room was totally not the same as this time. Only reason I went back this time. The Mgr let me know that those rooms were to be remodeled starting in October. I suggest that they close those rooms until remodeling is completed. They aren't fit to sleep in. There was no way I was sleeping in that first room and the sec one wasn't much better. Please don't insult your customers intelligence by expecting them to accept these musty moldy smelling rooms for which they have paid their hard earned money for. I also asked the Mgr how are you holding 100 dep for damages on a room that looks like everything in it is damaged already? Do better on 9th floor in the Dominican bldg. The rooms I saw horrible. There are alot nicer places to stay I'm sure! Booked an ocean view and got the furthest away room in the building. We look out at the loud parking lot and street. The 'Jamaican Building' is a true joke! Room & bathroom are dirty, missing paint, holes in the walls and very outdated. Ceiling light only had 1 working light bulb in it. Door did not lock, so maintenance had to 'fix' it. We were afraid to leave our stuff in the room. Shower was gross and very tiny. Pool was just ok, but who knows where the towels are that they give you a card for?? Spend your $$ elsewhere stay at a better place!!! read more
