If you are getting your prescriptions filled at Walgreens, you should stop and start coming here. The pharmacists and staff are fantastic, and everything gets filled faster and they will expedite if needed. They are also super helpful with suggestions for things you may want to consider when receiving medications from your doctor (I.e probiotics) Also, I've found even items I'd pick up when in Walgreens such as toothpaste or laundry detergent are significantly cheaper! As much of a mess the Walgreens is on Myrtle, I have no idea why anyone would not instead stop here for anything you may want from there. read more

This business was so helpful in getting my families medications for a long time, and I recommended it to others. However, when I was recently trying to resolve a stressful situation in getting prescriptions filled and they were quite rude and confrontational. I was really bummed because they'd been reliable for so long. Not only did they not come through for us, they had a strangely aggressive and defensive attitude while doing so. I get it if the meds aren't available; but I don't understand why you are angry and rude to me? It's hard enough being the parent of kids with special needs; this place just made it even harder and less pleasant. read more

The new female pharmacist is extremely mean and terrifying. I have been coming to the Myrtle Ave location as a client for a while now. Due to the incredible individuals that have helped and advised me at your location. Yesterday (12/8/22), I received a call from a female pharmacist regarding my prescription (a medication that is on nation wide back order). She was extremely condescending and had told me to never go back to your location. I had inquired about other potential dosages on hand and or if she could do a partial refill (as your other pharmacist have so kindly done in the past). Not only did was she extremely annoyed at my question, she blatantly said towards the end of our phone call "you know what, I'm saving the last 30 units for my client instead. So we don't have any." This is after she had said it is available and I tried to reason with her. I had noted that I understand this is a difficult time and I am trying my best to locate availability in medication as well as asking her to try to be empathetic. And in response, she said the above in retaliation- and as a show of power by "not giving me my medication" I wanted to notate that this nation wide shortage has caused long term prescribers (since pre-teen days) like myself a lot of mental stress on just acquiring it alone. Had that phone call been recorded, legal action would have been taken as her version of medical legality were in many ways, direct lies and retaliation based on her temperament. As a location that provides care and relief, it is unbelievable that a pharmacist would tell a patient to "never come back". I hope that this email is not taken lightly as an individual like that will result in future complaints. I hope to one day come back to your pharmacy but in the mean time, I will be flagging this to my peers who have gone to your location. read more

what a revelation to switch from chain pharmacies to a local small pharmacy. walk in to get an Rx refilled... you won't need to wait more than 2-3 mins (not joking) for it to be ready to go and check out. doc calls in an Rx... they fill it right away. call them on the phone and a human being will answer, there's no automated menu phone system you will want to scream at working your way through. staff knows me and my stuff. personally i also love that they are open Sundays (Sat is their day off), which is when I am more likely to do my errands for the week. read more

I've been coming here for years and the staff here has gone above and beyond to make sure that they can help me in any way possible. If they don't have a specialty prescription stocked, they are always able to get it in within 24 hours (when Walgreens has failed me with their 5-7 day approximate wait). When the prices on them seemed too high, they fought my insurance company for me and even gave me tips for signing up for discounts online. When my health took a bad turn, the pharmacist actually came on the other side of the counter to express his concern. When I come in, they're always laughing and cheer me up and know exactly what I need and how to help. That's like being taken care of by family, and you just can't find that anymore. read more

It's hard to find ANY pharmacy in Clinton Hill. This place is NOT like Manhattan with a Duane Reade, Rite Aid or Walgreens on every block. In fact, NONE of these are in this neighborhood, that I can find. That makes this pharmacy important. It's small, but it's got a basic selection of stuff (don't expect your wide selection of tampons--believe I couldn't find the one my wife uses), and it's very inexpensive, generally. They have the lowest price on Minoxidil that I've EVER seen, anywhere in ANY state. So, they are great in my book. It's a bit far from my house (under a 1 mi.), but better than the rest of the pharmacies that in walking distance. read more

This pharmacy is one of the last bastions of a family business in the best way possible. Everyone, no matter who, gets the same warm and helpful support. The staff know all their regular customers by name and they know their needs and prescriptions and help them with great know how and expertise. I am on refill prescription and when I forget that my refill is due, I get a personal phone call that my medicines are all ready and waiting for me. Sure, they are nice enough and they will help you just fine if you can actually get there in time, which you will not because they operate on random hours. Never open when they say they will (in my experience it was 45 minutes later than they claim) and they will close way before they claim on the store front. Earlier this year I decided that I wanted to switch to a smaller, local pharmacy because I was tired of dealing with the chains like Walgreens/CVS (slow wait times, poor customer service, impossible to reach on the phone). Switching to Myrtle was the best decision I ever made! I was in disbelief at the level of care they give to their customers, I mean really it was like night and day. My prescriptions are always filled within an hour after my doctor sends them in, and I receive a courtesy call to let me know when it's ready for pickup (or if there will be any delays / issues filling it). If prices change or seem high, also a courtesy call to see if I'm alright with the new price or to see how they can smooth it out! They are just so friendly and always do everything in their power to help you. Last time I picked up a prescription I asked whether I had refills on another medication but said I could walk back over to pick it up another day since they seemed kind of busy -- not on their watch! It was filled and ready to go within 5 minutes. Then they gave me a free calendar just because! I cannot recommend this pharmacy enough. Great local pharmacy. The staff are total sweethearts. Be nice to them - I joke around with them and they're always nice to me. They have to deal with so much #@&$* from people. Good god. Plus, they will DELIVER your medicine to your door FOR FREE! What is that? It's only a block away, so I never use it unless I'm dead sick, but I guess for people that need assistance, it's a godsend. Their prices on normal things are fine, and for meds, I guess it all depends on your insurance. I find that most things with normal insurance are quite cheap. read more

I needed a prescription filled and opted to have the local mom and pop shop (Myrtle Pharmacy) do it to support Main Street businesses. After some confusion because the pharmacy didn't have one of the medicines I needed that night, I went to Walgreens. Later that night, I went back by Myrtle Pharmacy to try and buy the two remaining meds I needed, and the men behind the counter refused to count out the 35 pills I needed with an hour before the shop closed. To be clear, I needed the meds that night, I had a prescription, they had the meds, and wouldn't sell them to me. I will never buy anything from this store again. Walgreens stayed open an extra 15 minutes to fill my prescription. 2 stars because my fiance has had decent experiences in the past. read more

I hate give this review but they gave me the wrong medication. When I got home, I noticed the pills looked unfamiliar so I looked it up online. The bottle had the correct name of the antihistamine drug but instead they were diuretic pills. I have no problems with them otherwise but this is dangerous. I like that they're a family-owned business, and they're friendly and helpful. But they don't open when they say they do and they're closed well before the advertised hours. Theoretically they're open from 9:30-7 (already pretty inconvenient), but they're rarely actually open before 9:45. The times I've gone by about 6:45, the door has already been locked and I've had to knock and insist that I pick up my prescriptions. This is a serious problem -- it's not like they're a bodega and you can get your milk elsewhere. If they want to compete with the Walgreens down the road (open 8am-10pm) they should at least be open the hours they advertise. read more

I ordered two carex metal reachers from amazon the company that the product came from was Myrtle Pharmacy. The reachers that I got were both damaged. Myrtle Pharmacy wants me to pay for postal to send the damaged product back to them, how cheep can they get. They make a disabled person with fixed income to pay for the mistake by sending a product that could get damaged in a yellow envelop rather than a box, I guess the box's in Brooklyn cost more. read more

This pharmacy is fine for basic toiletries and supplements, but DO NOT use them to fill prescriptions. I picked up a non-emergency prescription from them the other day and was surprised that I was given no information. I even asked if there was anything I needed to know and I was told that there was not. I put the prescription in my bag and left to run several errands. When I took it out a few days later I saw that the package of medicine inside the stapled outer prescription bag said the drug needed to be refrigerated immediately. When I called back the pharmacist insisted that I must have been told and that it was written on the outside of the bag. I went back and found a scrawl in red pen that looked like "fribble", which on closer inspection I realized probably meant "fridge". I told him I was not going directly home from the pharmacy so if I had been told about the refrigeration I would not have picked it up at that time. He responded with irritation that there was no way to know who was right and finally agreed to re-order the prescription at cost (my insurance didn't cover this, so I was out quite a bit of money for the first one), saying that was the best he could do. When I picked up the new one it felt warm. I asked for confirmation that it had been refrigerated and I was told with annoyance that it had just bee taken out of the fridge. When I got home (half a block) I compared the feel of the new pills to the old ones (which I had refrigerated as soon as I found out, in case they might still be good). The new pills did NOT feel nearly as cool as the refrigerated pills! This place is incompetent for a non-routine prescription, DON'T USE THEM if your prescription needs any special attention or if you're not sure. They obviously have no qualms about mishandling prescriptions and complementing that with poor customer service. read more
