Ballard is a throwback to the good old days when the pharmacists gave their patients personal service and treated them like friends. The personal service here is absolutely outstanding. I was visiting from out of town and ran out of my medications because of the February blizzard. However, Sajid Patel ("Saj") was extremely attentive to my situation and got directly involved so that I could have my much needed prescriptions despite the weather conditions. Ballard Pharmacy could not be better. They treat you with respect and kindness. They always want you to have your medication without paying out of pocket. They will help you figure out how to make sure it's covered by insurance and give you information on how to do so. They genuinely care about your needs and make sure you get exactly what you are supposed to get and make sure it goes as smoothly as possible. They tell you about the medication you are getting and the potential side effects. All the staff will get to know you on a personal level and make you feel comfortable and cared for. There is not one negative thing that I can say about Ballard Pharmacy. They do delivery's for people that are in the radius (not sure exactly, but they do deliver to my apartment building which is about 7 blocks away). They always answer the phone and do not leave you on hold for long if at all. They are the perfect definition of a local mom and pop pharmacy that makes sure all your needs are met. I highly recommend Ballard Pharmacy to anyone new in the area. No other pharmacy comes close to the care and respect you will get from Ballard Pharmacy. 5 stars doesn't even do it justice for a review they would get an extra star if that was possible, but since the max is 5 they meet that mark easily without question. read more

Ballard Pharmacy is the kind of incredible local business you think doesn't exist anymore. The pharmacists here, particularly Saj, go above and beyond to make you feel cared for and get you what you need as efficiently as possible. To share a personal experience, after giving birth I needed a slew of medications. I was in bad shape. I called the pharmacy to get them and they told me they were already on their way to be delivered to me and wished me a speedy recovery. I burst into tears at this act of kindness. They may not have the rows and rows of products that a CVS or Duane Reade does but they will get you whatever you need. I feel so lucky that this is my local pharmacy. read more

My experiences have been good until now, if you ignore the UPS chaos and rudeness in the front of the store. But the female pharmacist gave me a vaccine shot very high on my arm, barely below the shoulder. It became so painful I could not move the arm after 24 hours and my range of motion has been affected. At the time I did not realize that the location of the injection site is very important. Do your homework before you go and be very careful if she is the person administering the injection. She is careless and SIRVA is real. I am hoping it resolves on its own without medical intervention. read more

This place is a neighborhood gem. I've lived in the area for the last two years and have used them for last minute personal need pickups; shipping needs (and pickups when the stupid FedEx guys don't want to ring the bell..); and some prescriptions - including ones that CVS couldn't fill. Every experience has been more than pleasant - this is truly a family owned business where they care about their customers. Two specific examples: - A few months ago one of those (annoying) FedEx guys dropped something off in several boxes that was super heavy; the team here was so nice and held the second box until I could come pick it up. - Tonight I also had a box to pickup and they snuck me in for a vaccine anyway! I'll personally be moving my prescriptions from CVS to this family owned business ASAP. read more

I needed a notary to notarize MY notary renewal application. Everyone in the pharmacy area seems to be a notary, so you really can find a notary there whenever the store is open. Although it's on the opposite end of the neighborhood from I live, I will make a point of shopping there more often. read more

This is my go to Pharmacy,not for pharmaceutical needs but for other services that they offer...in fact I've been coming here for years and have never been to the back of the store where the pharmacy is. They offer so many other services such as UPS pick up and returns,making copies, laminating items,lotto,mail box services and other things/services I may not be aware of. The team at Ballard epitomizes what a neighborhood business should be like. My 6 year old was terrified of her flu shot, and the staff were extraordinarily patient with her throughout three attempts on three different occasions - during which my daughter screamed and struggled for extended periods. They were so supportive and caring, and finally got us through with a smile on her face. The proprietor Saj was extraordinarily caring and supportive, and it's clear he and his team really care about helping their customers. This place literally has everything that you want in a community store. When I first moved here, I thought it was JUST a pharmacy. How wrong I was. You want a covid test? They got you. You want to have your passport photos taken? They can do that. You want to return your Amazon packages? They do that too, and it's quick and easy. A pharmacy that cares I Recommend everyone to come use this pharmacy. It's more than a pharmacy . They offers alot of services inside one place. The care they give to all your health needs are outstanding . Their delivery service is off the chain. They listen and try to help accommodate with your medical disability. If something is not on the shelf ask for it and management will order it for you if it's possible. They always order me items ,it comes the next day. The owners is very helpful. The staff is always helpful and efficient, the pharmacist bends over backwards to be helpful, the shelves are fully stocked with everything from aspirin to mascara! They also have UPS services. This is such a classic neighborhood pharmacy in a nostalgic type of neighborhood. Located on the corner of a "main street", just two blocks from prospect park; wide sidewalks; it almost feels like you've gone back in time. The pharmacy is just the right size - and it's an actual pharmacy. In other words, they don't sell all the junk food and alcohol that will drive you into needing medicine in the first place. The pharmacist is really nice and remembered my name/face since the first time I went there. Where else will you find that in New York? They even deliver medications to the home if you need that service. They also have a UPS shipping center which is super quick and easy to use. Bought something from Amazon and need to return it? No problem - just do the return thing online and bring your item in (no need to pack it usually) and they'll scan your return code from your phone, print the label and pack it up for you. This was my neighborhood pharmacy for 6 years. They do not enforce mask-wearing! I had a UPS package rerouted here against my will and was SCARED by going inside. One unmasked employee walking in with a coffee, two unmasked patrons at the narrow front -- this is a PHARMACY meaning high-risk, because it serves sick people. And it's tiny inside so no distancing is enforced. I am devastated to undercut their mom-and-pop store reputation and personalized service but if they don't enforce customers wearing masks, I interpret it as dangerous neglect and hazard. read more

The exorbitant pricing to use their incredibly slow WiFi to print out one page means they have lost my business in future. I will seek out other locations that do not charge $2.16 for 5 minutes of computer time to print one page. No other places charge this much for print services. My husband and I have been using Ballard Pharmacy for about 15 years. They have consistently been top notch. The service is exceptional and so is the staff. We have prescriptions that need to be refilled monthly and sometimes Saj and the team will have them ready even before we call. It is a very warm, personal and local experience when you step foot inside. I would suggest if you have an issue to call the store to complain before posting on a public social media site such as this one. The pharmacist is amazing. He knows his customers and his medicine and his business. Although my insurance requires I use a terrible chain store on 9th street I come here for those special items that I have to buy out-of-pocket. I was considering a drive to Canada when I was facing an outrageous Rx bill and the pharmacist (Saj) told me his cost and charged me exactly that amount! I couldn't be more impressed with his compassion and ethics. I overheard Saj asking customers about their family members and their children's plans for Halloween. Excellent neighborhood mom & pop pharmacy, where the Pharmacist is personable and gives me the service that he truly cares & always fills it fast. Yes I can go elsewhere and pay the same co-pay but here I get the same pharmacist all the time, he greets me with a smile and explains the drugs and tries to save me money by suggesting generics. Perfect for filling prescription but since space is an issue, they don't carry everything over the counter a Target would carry. read more
