We are no strangers to escape rooms-we've done a few (not to say we are any good at them, but we enjoy a good puzzle and challenge.) While visiting from Salt Lake City, we meandered in to do the Nutcracker themed room. It was our final nod to the holiday season before packing up the stockings and tearing down the tree. The location of the room was quaint and fun-the building itself is said to be haunted. Might add a little excitement to the Halloween-themed room. I was told that the dolls sometimes talk. Ick. Our room was more lighthearted and fun, although still challenging. There were only three of us and more puzzles than we could successfully solve in the hour. I definitely recommend going with a group between 5-10 to maximize your chances of success. The host was very helpful and attentive. I appreciated the clues and guidance when we were obviously stuck. We've been to great escape rooms (best so far is in Hollywood) so I was prepared to be a little disappointed when we booked an experience (for 16 people!) at this one, but it was actually a good time. Okay so our family really enjoys escape rooms and by no means are we pros ha! but this one was just eh. Four adults and one teenager and we all felt like the story lacked and we had no idea with the explanation given what we were looking for. Some of the clues were old, torn or hard to read. We were told not to open the curtains because of the heat which is fine but the room was very dark and made reading some of the clues very difficult. It was honestly just okay. If I could say one thing; please clean your bathrooms. They were so bad. Like never been cleaned dirty. Both of them. that's a small thing as a business your employees should be doing daily. We asked the girl to take a picture with our phone and she said no she wouldn't touch our phone so we wouldn't have to clean it? Uh from what? Covid? Yet she handed us a sign, showed us other things we all touched etc. they have a game in the waiting room everyone blows on and doesn't get cleaned. so you gotta decide what it is otherwise it just seems put out to do something small for customers. read more

Great place! This is my 5th escape room and I thought it had some of the best puzzles I had ever seen. Our host, Rebecca (not Becky ), was super helpful and informative. She did a good job of setting us up and gave us enough hints to keep the game going without making it uninteresting. Hoghly recommend this for groups of all ages and interests. We came here for my mom's 61st birthday and had my grandma (82), Dad (52), family friend (52), and myself (25) all working on different parts of the room. We have done two of the escape rooms at Mystery Escape Room in St. George with our adult kids. We LOVED it! It's clever and challenging. Great team building and now we are addicted. It is worth the money for the memories we made. We did Magicians Mansion and Afraid of the Dark. Margaret was our guide, and she was fantastic. We highly recommend her and the Mystery Escape Room. We are going to do Nancy Drew next time. We hear that is the best one. read more

Absolutely terrible. We did the Pharoah's room and it was by far the worst room I've ever done. The paper that was supposed to be our jump off point (was supposed to be out in the room to start off) was locked inside another clue where it wasnt supposed to be. So we spent the first 10 minutes trying to figure out where to start with no help. Didnt get any of that time back. The clues make no sense, there's no rhyme or reason to the vast majority of them, the game masters are terrible at giving clues, if they even listen to you. We asked for a clue at one point and got silence for 5 minutes. The magnetic openers dont open, just make a click sound. And there's absolutely no storyline to the room at all. Just a bunch of nonsense clues that dont make sense. We always do at least 2 rooms back to back, but I refuse to give this place any more money. read more

Mystery Escape Room has moved, and might be under new management. These changes are not for the better. As you can see from the other reviews, this used to be a real treat. That's no longer the case. The new building is an uncharming strip-mall/former tire shop, which in itself isn't a big deal, but a bit of a let down if you've been shown the old, more eclectic and vastly more interesting building. The changes are not superficial. The greeting room was huge, but included was also the control room which removes a lot of the immersive value from an escape room. While the hostesses were initially nice, there were issues with signing the waivers. The two rooms were EXTREMELY small and I wouldn't recommend taking more than 6-8 people. The ENTIRE time, the hostess was "helping", but she seemed annoyed with us, and CONSTANTLY interrupted us to tell us we were doing it wrong. While the room had an attempt at themeing, it was weak at best. Almost all the puzzles were in locked boxes set out for us as soon as we entered the room. There was no hunting for clues and there was ZERO attempt at an over-arching story to drive the puzzles or their solutions. Whatever this escape room used to be, it isn't anymore. read more

Really had fun in the Sherlock room. Challenging but manageable puzzles, great host and an engaging story.

One of the many locations all over the US. Came here with 3 other people and we were amazed how much fun we were all having. It's a team effort. So prepare yourself to work together and communicate. It helps you and the team to work and think outside of the box. There's host was very helpful you if you get stuck on a problem. Overall, the experience and time spent in a room was really fun. Make sure to make a reservation before going. Staff was amazing. Can't wait to go back and have another adventure. read more

It hurts my heart to leave a bad review but oh my goodness it was soooooo bad!! I'll start with the good- We walked into the room and I was genuinely impressed with the decoration and atmosphere created. And that's kind of where the good part ends. More than 1/2 the puzzles were broken in some way and our "helper" person that was in the room with us was new and didn't know what we should do and just kept saying "I don't know what to tell you." We had several delays early on that were not our fault (puzzles were broken). And then one of the locks I promise you was broken somehow. 4 adults tried the lock MULTIPLE times and the "helper" tried a few times and none of us could get it open. The helper confirmed we had the right code... We spent prob 30 min or more trying to get that lock open and the helper just sat there despite us saying over and over and over "we're pretty sure this is broken- what can we do." Finally when we had like 10 min left the helper finally went to get help and came back and said "sorry you're out of time. Thanks for playing." (We still had 8 min on the clock!) What the?!?!?!!!!!! I have NEVER been more disappointed by an escape room. NEVER. We have been to some pretty crappy ones- but this one def takes the cake! No offer to let us come back another time. No offer of a refund or anything. Just a "sorry- see ya later." I really hope whoever runs this location sees this and implements some new policies. Please please if a puzzle is not working- offer a work around. Dock some time to let them skip it or something. Good heavens. Again- the puzzles were well thought out but sadly too many were broken!! It's minor but to top it off they took a picture and said they'd email it to us- and big surprise- that didn't happen either. Please work on customer service! Mystery Escape Room was a great time!! I highly recommend it! The staff were friendly and passionate about what they do. They have two rooms; the Houdini room and the Moriarty room. The Houdini room is the easier of the two. Don't be discouraged if you don't solve it, the escape rates are pretty low, but the experience is very fun and a mental exercise. We went in a pre-planned family group and had a blast. Make sure to schedule a date and time,...I don't think they take walk-ins. Great time! read more

Wow. First time in a mystery room and we loved it. Family with the 2 kids (10,12) and I was concerned it would be over their heads. They loved it, and had a great time helping to find the clues. We went with 7 others that we didn't know and the large group made it even more fun. Great puzzle (we didn't solve it) and great fun. Definitely a repeat. read more

I have done escape rooms all across the world and this place was by far the worst. It is placed right now in an old tire shop and the rooms are just temporary walls put up. Also, the whole "Escape room" is not really an escape room. The door is unlocked you have an employee in there helping you do puzzles. You basically spend $25 / person to go in a room and do puzzles. (Very pricey) The other ones that I have been to have been rooms you really actually had to escape from. And yes, there were MULTIPLE rooms, secret doors, levers, electronic effects, great setting, etc. This one was sad and very disappointing. I would not recommend anyone to spend $25 / person on something like this. This experience is like a $5/person experience. I usually dont spend time writing a bad review, but this one I felt was worth it because it might save some of you wasting $50+ dollars. OH also, they did not set up the room right so we had access to things that we were not supposed to have. Which then the employee had to re-lock. It really was a joke. It is a ripoff. read more
