First trip to Sand Hollow! Flew in from So. Cal to Vegas and made the drive to UT with 15 mins. to spare for our tee-time. Our tee time was 11:45A and finished the round in under 5 hours! The front 9 went as expected, but the back 9 we ran into a foursome that took its time for photos and extra shots. I think they jumped in front of us after hitting the snack bar. No alcohol on the course only beer. Course scenery is epic on the back, condition was adequate for February with rain preventing any roll out. Greens were extremely challenging if you're not a regular player to know the breaks and speed. Views from inside the restaurant were stunning but since they do not serve alcohol we opted to drive back to Vegas for steaks and cocktails. Green fees match the quality of the course and glad we got on and enjoyed our round. read more

It is expensive if you don't haver a membership. Wanted to join for membership rates since I live just about right next door over in Dixie Springs. After multiple attempts, I am unable to reach golf pro to join and no one else can help. Grille is good. Nice people. Oh well. Luckily there are some nice muni's out here. We paid $315 per person for a round of golf at Sand Hollow. This was one of the worst kept as far as condition golf courses that I've ever played. The grass on the greens look diseased bald spots everywhere two boxes were atrocious. Staff not very welcoming and very disorganized. 100% would never ever play this cow pasture again. Golf course in poor condition even though pro shop claims otherwise. Played this weekend with tee boxes and most fairways in poor shape, at least 4 bunkers could be considered partial water hazards due to amount of water in them. Add to fact outside services when arriving are very poor / lazy. For price is not worth it. Been playing there with a group for numerous years and it seems to be getting worst each year. Even though there are some great views, based off price and very poor condition, I would not recommend. read more

The resort villa was fantastic, the Sand Hollow Grille offered good - if not great - food and beer, and the Championship course was fantastic! The views on holes 12 - 15 were breathtaking. Fairways are under repair with many many grassy ridges throughout the course. It played reallly hard with incredible fast greens. Needs another set of forward tees. A par three on back was under repair and we had to use a crazy long tee box. read more

Great and beautiful course but incredibly mismanaged. I got on at 4:15. Possibly Slowest nine ever. I only got through 11 when they said course would close in 30 minutes! I tried to see if I could skip a hole or two, EVERY hole had at least two foursome's on it. Some had three groups! Everyone on the tee box was having to wait to hit. Even if you teed off at 3 pm you would not have finished your round. That's lame!! Hope they made lots of money stuffing their course yesterday. Oh. And they sent me to the driving range for a quick warmup,,, no balls on the range. They get picked up at 3:30. Thanks for more wasted time. read more

The kids and I played here back in 2015 when they first opened and we had an awesome time. The views are stunning and the course conditions were pristine and the layout was challenging and fun. Our girls were 12 and 13 back then and aspiring tournament golfers and our son was only 6 and the clubhouse welcomed us and treated kindly. One of the our most memorable family golf rounds and we have played many of the best. Fast forward to 2022 and both our girls are playing D1 college golf so it's just me and the son (who is 12 now) on his Spring Break and he wants to go play "that course in Utah" again. So we made reservations and flew into Vegas, but unfortunately he catches a cold and is running a fever so I call the pro shop the morning of our tee time and told them we had to cancel as my son was sick. They canceled our tee time without penalty (we were way past their cancellation policy) and gave us their best wishes for feeling better. We will definitely plan on getting back here some day soon - ideally when his sisters are also available so that we can do our usual boys vs girls match at this awesome venue! Dont waste your money. Scenery is gorgeous but the course was in horrible condition. They advertise it as a world class golf destination and its closer to a muni. Greens were diseased, the collar of almost all the greens had rows of grass alternating with dirt similar to planting crops. Plus the red rock sand is really just compacted dirt. At almost $500 for 2 people it's so not worth it. read more

This course is way overrated. While a few holes were stunning, the course conditions and fairways left much to be desired. I don't know anyone who plays golf just for the views. My local Muni in Grapevine TX has much better conditions than Sand Hollow. My advice, play Black Desert twice rather than wasting your time and money at Sand Hollow. I wish I had. Based on the reviews over the last couple of years, the poor course conditions are not a recent occurrence. read more

I'm a big golfer, and after finally playing the Sand Hollow Championship course yesterday, I can confidently say that it is the best public course I've played in the state of Utah. The course is maintained very well--the greens roll fast and true, though they are beastly if you put yourself on the wrong part of the green. The starter was incredibly friendly, and all the staff I interacted with seemed happy to have us as guests. The course itself is a great design--very challenging, which can make for a slow round, but aesthetically gorgeous. The contrast of the red rock and dark sand is beautiful. I would 100% recommend playing here if you're an avid golfer! read more

We were visiting from Las Vegas and played here and the Ledge's Golf Club over two days. Both were good experiences, but this course played in late September was in exceptional condition compared to the Ledge's. Really well maintained and in great shape! Little contact with anyone until things got backed up on the back 9, around 3PM on a random Tuesday. Little to no water around, due to COVID, which is understandable, so go out prepared. We had a bite at the restaurant outside before our round and despite the appearance that maybe nobody in Utah is aware that there is a pandemic (little mask wearing short of staff, who were good people and wearing masks), we had a good lunch. We would play here again when back in the area. read more

I have played this Golf Course more than a dozen times and it has always been in very good condition. I couldn't have been more disappointed in its condition today tee boxes are unusable, greens are dead in large spots. The Golf Course itself is in general disrepair. I would never spend the kind of money they're asking for this place again. Too bad because this place was a gem for a long time. read more

No one greeted us, no one helped with our bags, we had to ask which cart was ours. No beverage cart all day. Comparing this experience to all our other golf experiences leaves this place severely lacking. The one great thing, however, is the beatiful course itself. read more

The course is beautiful and the golf shop staff is awesome. The back 9 has some holes that will take your breath away. The overall amenities were a bit lacking during our visit. Numerous water dispensers were empty and there was no beverage cart on a Saturday afternoon. Additionally, there was a small tournament being played and we had two groups of 6 in front of us. The Marshall drove by a few times, but didn't bother to speed them up. The restaurant had a good beer selection and tasty fries. We had to order fries because the facility is licensed as a restaurant rather than a bar so there must be a food item ordered. The service was pretty slow. The course has dynamic pricing and can run you more than $200. Overall there is comparable golf for less money and a better experience. read more

We stayed here in early March. There is no blanket and heater won't work, it was so cold while we were staying there, you can clearly hear people talking next door. Unfortunately, they were having a party. Can't sleep at all. Room doesn't have a phone to call reception to get the blanket, you need to drive to main building to request. Beware, Beware, for the longest round of your life. My round, played on the Championship course, 5 hours and 48 minutes. Waited on every single shot. On the front nine, after completing a hole, the group in front of us was still waiting to tee off. The back nine was worse. Three groups on each tee box. As we waited on 16, 17 and 18, five groups came by us who had quit playing and headed home. Saw the on course marshal twice, one on the front. His comment, long rounds are the norm. I have reached out the management. The manager of the day, the GM and the course pro via email and phone. Nothing. If you plan on playing here, make sure it's your only activity of the day!! read more

Great course and it's in Great condition! (Played it on a Thursday afternoon in mid-September as a two-some.) Cuz of Covid: The golf guys won't touch your bag. (No big deal.) There is or was no beverage cart on the course. (No big deal.) We loaded up our little cooler, and they gave us plenty of ice so we were set. No rakes in the bunkers. (No big deal. Fine by me.) Don't touch the flag sticks. (Again... no big dig deal and somehow I felt like this speeds up play.) I'm not that great of a golfer... so I always played the forward tees. I feel like this course (unlike some other courses) makes the forward tees more forgiving and makes the course more playable (less scary) for those who are not big hitters. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were in really nice condition.... green, groomed and not a lot of divots. The course offers some elevation changes, undulations in the fairways, dog legs, cliffs, carries over vegetation, etc.... it may seem like a boring course at first glance, but it is not. Also (provided you don't get stuck behind a couple of slow groups), this course can be played in under 4 hours if you don't dilly dally. We skipped 1 hole because there was a couple groups that were playing slow. Once we skipped that one hole (there were 2 holes open in front of them), we were able to finish the rest of the course without having to wait on shots or on the tee boxes. And by skipping that 1 hole and not have to keep waiting, we did finish at 4 hours. read more

Take your lumps on the front 9. It's all worth it to drink in that picturesque back 9. I may have shot triple digits but by style points scoring system I was probably ten over par. The golf course, views, and layout should be hard to ruin; but I feel like the current ownership must be trying to. The back nine is iconic, but the course was in objectively very bad condition, which drastically took away from the beauty of the course. That happens sometimes, but the customer experience was even worse. We had a 3p tee time, and arrived early to eat and use the range. The service for the food was slow, they were clearly understaffed. We then went to the range at 2p, and were told the range was closing in a few minutes. They allowed us to hit a few balls but were cleaning everything up and rushing us along. They said they needed to take all the balls off the range before the next day so they could mow, but the sunset was not for another 5.5 hours, so it's unclear why were being rushed besides the workers wanting to leave early. No one checked us in, welcomed us, directed us around. No starter. We were wandering around like helpless baby chicks. The cart guys were nice and helpful when approached, but the staff inside was not. When approached for assistance, we were met with apathy and frustration. We made decent time on the course but they requested the carts to be returned 30 minutes before sunset on the gps screen. Ultimately, we ignored the constant reminders because we could finish our round easily in the daylight, which we did. But we felt rushed and it took away from the experience. Ultimately, we did not need to rush at all. Finally we wanted to eat and enjoy the evening. There were about a dozen open tables, but it was a long wait due to being short staffed. We left as a result. Ultimately, a beautiful course and resort ruined IMO. read more

We are repeat golfers over several years. The course is beautiful and is usually in great shape. We had a tee time on Friday, October 20 and they got us off 40 minutes late. This is hard to believe unless they are slipping people in between which really upsets. We saw the cart girl on the #1 fairway which didn't do us any good as we just tee'd off and had drinks from inside. We never saw a cart person again. It was a Friday, the course was packed and it was pretty warm. Not a very good way to offer customer service especially for what they charge. The restaurant and snack bar inside was way under staffed and it took over 30 minutes for a breakfast sandwich to go. All employees where complaining about the business. Guess what....the business can go away. read more

Golf Course maintenance is being neglected. Tee boxes were not cut and the turf is poor. Practice putting green was severely neglected and the driving range was disappointing also. Redoing tee boxes currently and had to hit off of matts 60 yards closer Played here 3 years ago on golf buddy's trip and was blown away of how nice the course was, and how beautiful it looked and played. Hopefully this review gets read by the staff and they put some support to improving conditions. read more

This used to be a premier course in Southern Utah. Now it's managed like a muni. The course itself is still great, but the last 3 times I've played here it has been a 15-20 minute wait every hole. They pack it in way too much and this course naturally plays slow. Eliminate 2-3 tee times per hour so rounds don't take over 4.5 hrs!! read more

Played in May 2024, made reservation on phone and they added 100 bucks per person, what a ripoff. Beautiful course but not well maintained. Hard to tell where the fairway line was cut. Extremely overrated. Our group will never play that course again. Compare to a mini, and the price was $250, what a rip off read more

There were some holes that were challenging.. and some holes that were easy. Perfect for anybody.. esp for those that love great views. they don't offer water or balls... kinda sucks. if you stay on the cart path, you should be fine & it's easy to find your way around. Beautiful course. Very playable from the whites. Gets tough from black and blue. If the wind is blowing all the niceness will leave. We paid $184 and grumbled a bit on checkin and the more tenured guy behind the counter let us know we got a great deal because others had paid $294 already today. He was a jerk to all of us in all interactions. So you have a popular course that charges a lot, but don't act like we need to be spanked. I wish I had captured his name to call him out. The rest of the crew was great. The greens were a little slow but we got lucky with stunning weather. read more
