We went here after visiting Jellystone in CA a couple years ago. Their kids play areas, pickleball…read more and basketball courts were great! Water park areas were a bit small but still fun for the kid. They could use some lights around the pillow jump area at night but that's a small thing. Big shoutout to the reservations manager. We had booked a year and a half prior and our site we chose was moved (due to the site programming changing hands between the time we booked and the time we stayed) and after some discussion they were able to get us a site that we felt comfortable with on a very busy weekend. Note to future campers. Pay the extra fee to keep the spot you booked. Or they will move you to a crummy one. All in all we had a great time for our spring break and will recommend to friends.

The Goods *This park…read moreis super affordable and easy to book online *Animal friendly *so many kid activities like they didn't cheap out at all! *very clean loving the clean bathrooms *Staff are helpful * lines for water slides weren't bad at Al I did go during the week *clean area sights The Bads * Reduction for 1 star because it's super annoying and very upsetting the biggest problem I had was checking in. Ok remember I'm from Vegas a single mother with a 8 yr old ok. Now when you first check in you approach the park and you see the little check in booth like you see in every campsite. Theres no one in the box and the park is very modern looking so you really can't figure out where's check in?! There's no one around, no one pickups the phone and it's 4-5pm on a Wednesday. I'm trying to figure out the tent sights finally I see someone! I ask her where is the ranger check in and she points behind her what looks like a long building that a little shop. Well ok I thought where the hell is the person in the box to direct me here I'm wondering and why not a bigger sign saying ranger station checkin here in big letters? Or in the box put a picture saying go down to ranger station it will be on your right show building picture? The little box looks like an abandoned lottery ticket sales booth. Maybe have more staff walking the property I got lucky saw 1 staff member after I circled the park twice! * As always make sure you don't forget your graham crackers because with tax it was around $8! And $4 for a Hershey regular candy bar. Ice water you think be free nope it be $1.58! How is it Starbucks gives you a free water here nope it's wild because you think that would be included drinking water to stay hydrated but ok I'll pay it to fill up my Stanley thermos. * Children life vest for the pool area, ok this one another star reduction! My child is 8 skinny little boy he is. And he fits the CHILD VEST.Well it's very surprising they let you take as you please these life vest in all sizes. However the child size most popular size I imagine that's why there all messed up in the front of the vest you can't tell until your kid gets in the water. What I mean is you know how a life vest has two part in the front a chest plate in each side. Well one side of the vest right around the rib cage it's like some cut the foam in thin side horizontal so it's a piece that floats up by your kiddos face. So most children vest need to be replaced as there inside pad/lining is deteriorating and is balling up or just feels like a squishy foam. I tried putting him in a bigger size but bigger sizes will pop off because they don't got the underneath leash buckle. So lastly the hot tubs at the water zone park area there's 2 hot tubs there spacious but this is a child park these hot tubs are the hottest I mean the hottest hot tubs I ever felt and I come from Vegas where I been in so many in the casino resorts. The hot tubs are scaulding hot im just wondering hot tubs aren't the best for little children but I seen moms with 2 years in there it was such a shock. My son dipped his foot screamed it's hot! But how can they let unsupervised children in a cooking soup pot I'm wondering?! **Tent sights are nice but at night it's very bright because the bathroom lights that are right next to you. *Lastly I will say there needs to be a stop sign guard yard duty out side to monitor traffic you have giant I mean giant RVs with huge huge trucks pulling these beast and check in like I said is the building where the round about is where you got little ones on electric scooters bikes skateboards and most of them aren't accompany by a parent. These large vehicles can't see over their dash boards and I almost was ran over by a huge truck pulling a freaking house. I'm a short lady that's 4'9 ok it was very scary. But come on you have like 5 cleaners in the house keeping little box near the bathrooms twiddling their thumbs and you can't get a yard duty stop sign guard lady because these kids don't have their parents looking after them. The jump pad has no one monitoring the children as well as I see big kids doing back flips as little ones are right beneath them jumping. The jump mat says no flips but you really think kids are going to listen you got two life guards in the water park but no other reenforces around the pavement/park area ground like I said a alot of kids are not accompanied by there parents or simply don't want to parent. I won't reduce any more stars because I found it enjoyable the price for tent was good regardless of these little tid bits I know now for next time right. So I'll update it once I go back and see if they changed certain things. But I feel like my points are valid. *tip If you camping in a tent bring ear plugs as your close to your neighbors that you can hear them snore. Ask about your parking as it is confusing for the tents. Oh there's only 2 tent spots available like in the whole park.

Zion is ICONIC. I was a little nervous given the shuttle system (thought it would be so chaotic it…read morewould make the morning rather blah), but they actually do a dang good job keeping the shuttles moving fast and frequently! I wanted to park at the visitor center (one of the only areas with unpaid parking; if you come later and by later the internet says 7-8 am -- good chance you have to park in neighboring Springdale and pay). I arrived around 6:20 am after a 35 min drive from Hurricane; it was still near totally dark when I arrived. There were still good number of parking spots but the lot was prob already over 1/2 full by then. I used the bathrooms (pretty decent for visitor center bathrooms; the soap is oddly watered down tho but works lol). The visitor center itself wasn't opened yet and the shuttles don't start until 7a but people were already lining up. I hopped in line around 6:40 or so, and when the park rangers let us approach the boarding platform, the line was wrapping around several times already. The good news tho - I only had to wait for the 3rd bus to come, since the buses carry so many folks. I don't think I even waited 15 mins to get on the shuttle, since several come right at the start of the shuttle service. I did ride in to the grotto first since I had the earliest angel's landing time permit. The trail was not busy by any means but did have quite a few folks already on it. When I got all the way out to Angel's landing I saw a guy propose to his (now finance) a little after sunrise. It was STUNNING (both the view, and the cuteness of the proposal!). I also went to the temple of Sinawava and did some shorter hikes. Shuttles come frequently enough you're really never waiting longer than 10-15 mins at a time. It's a very smooth system they have and definitely better than having hundreds of cars trying to all park at once! Good thing they have it :) Overall Zion isn't my fave NP of all that I've visited, but it's VERY up there. I would absolutely go back any time - hoping to do the narrows eventually (I did the river walk, but didn't want to get wet). Should be on everyone's bucket list to visit at least once imo!!

+ When you miss the Angels Landing permit, there's always Zion Narrows! And ofc the smaller hikes…read moreincluding the Emerald Pools. Pleasant alternative trails with some crowd. At least you'll never be stranded alone. - gawdawful crowded on weekends/holidays. - Trying to find parking during those times is a nightmare. Street parking packed way down to the Springdale shuttle street curbs. + Thankfully the buses and employees kept everything running. . Tip: Rumor has it free ice water ;) in Zion Lodge's Sentinal Building through here: 37°15'03.3"N 112°57'22.5"W just off the Emerald Pools Zion shuttle stop 5.

After Capitol Reef's stunning colored, sculpted mountains and Bryce Canyon's hoodoo amphitheater,…read moreZion offer s soaring mountains on each side of you, river, and many more non-hiker friendly trails besides the deadly Angel's Landing. It is an exceptionally well designed park with the free town and park shuttle system that centers at the Visitor Center and has many paved trails. - As you drive into Zion, you will go through the Zion-Mt Carmel tunnel - a 1.1 mile pitch black dark tunnel with no lighting, just a few windows of the stunning mountains as you drive through - The park and shuttles are free! Stay in Springdale for the closest location. The Best Western was very nice and Shuttle stop 4 - Favorite easy trails in my order of preference: -- Riverside Walk (2.2 miles, 57 ft elevation change, 1.5 hours) - paved path along the Virgin River in a Canyon -- Pa'rus Trail (1.7 or 3.5 miles, 50 ft elevation change, 1-2 hours) - start at park shuttle stop #3 (Canyon Junction-shuttle only stops going downhill - Not from the Visitor Center) for a 1.7 mile walk on a paved trail near the Human History museum, past the campgrounds and to the visitor center. If you start at the Visitor Center, then you will have to turnaround at Canyon Junction and it is 3.5 miles. - The Grotto Trail (1 miles, 35 ft, 0.5 hour) - dirt trail paralleling the road from Stop 6 (Grotto) to Stop 5 (Zion lodge) - saw and heard a wild turkey. - Weeping Rock Trail (0.4 miles, 98 ft, 0.5 hour) - short but steep paved trail ends at a rock alcove with dripping water - Lower Emerald Pool (2 miles, 150 ft, 1.5 hours) - paved trail to a small pool. It had been dry, so it was underwhelming but if it had rained more, it might have been better. If you are adventurous and like a good view and danger, then try to get a permit to hike Angel's Landing. Someone died the week before we arrived. In the park, there are 9 shuttle stops where you can get off to hike. The following stops have toilets (may be a pit toilet or flush toilet): stop 1 Visitor center - flush, 2 Zion Human History Museum - flush - but you have to walk a bit to get to the museum where the toilet are located outside, 5 Zion Lodge - flush -inside the lodge, 6 Grotto-pit?, 7 Weeping Rock-pit?, 9 Temple of Sinawava - pit.

Truly breathtaking. No camera could do it justice. The views entering the park alone where a treat,…read morebut the main activity I did was hiking the narrows. I had to sign a waver to get the proper wear for the trek, they offer special water-resistant (not water proof) socks and boots, and a walking stick. Hiking the narrows was very enjoyable, a fun challenge with amazing views of the massive canyon wall on either side of the trail. The current was decently strong, and the rocks in the river where slippery at points, which made the walking stick crucial for balance. The water was waist high at it's deepest point, but it really depends on the weather at the time. Lots of cool rock formations and vegetation around each corner in the narrows. The staff was amazing, bus drivers where great, and the ladies at the visitor center where helpful. Parking was a nightmere though, but it wasn't the fault of the park itself. At the time I went it was packed. Would certainly recommend you visit this place, just make sure you visit when it has been dry for the last few days with no rain in the forecast, which reduces the risk of flash flooding and too strong currents in the narrows. Have fun!
