Let's start with Saganaki Opa, the flaming pan-seared Greek cheese doused with lemon juice and served with a side of herbed pita. Watch the dish go "Opa!" at the table. Garidomakaronda is a pasta with portions as large as the name would imply! Comprising of huge sautéed shrimp, mushroom, Greek cheese and ouzo sauce, it's akin to carbonara with a sharper aroma. Served with a classic lemon-egg soup, Avgolemono. Seabass is a seared fillet entrée topped by capers, creamy lemon sauce. We chose this restaurant looking at the online menu which looked interesting and authentic Greek. Reaching there we were welcomed adequately. The service was good in general. The food not so much. The side salad had lettuce leafs that were on their last legs and did not look all that enticing. We ordered a couple of cocktails- a mixture of vodka that had a strange taste. Had to supplement it with a more familiar wine. The mousaka was ok without being noteworthy and the ouzo chicken's sauce was good however the chicken itself was dry and over baked. Not good. I decided on the GREEK KOTOLETA which is breaded pork cutlet topped with tomato sauce and feta served with rice pilaf and grilled vegetables. The salad that came with the entree was tasty everything seemed fresh. The pork cutlet and rice were good. The grilled vegetables were quite bland. Service was great. This Greek restaurant is as charming as the staff. The decor is contemporary, modern with a Greek homage. All the food was quite tasty. I've been to this restaurant before and quite enjoyed it. We started with the saganoki, which was set aflame. My friend had the chicken special, which was very tender. And I had the lamb which was also quite tasty. The mix of vegetables for the grilled vegetable dish was really lovely. The only thing was that was a bit too much oregano. I have a feeling that instead of putting a little parsley on top they accidentally put oregano. A little Tzatziki solved the problem. My friend had a cocktail. Our server suggested a cocktail which contain the Greek liqueur and she loved it! Great suggestion. I am always concerned about how clean a restaurant is and mythos is immaculate. Driving into Burlington late afternoon and were looking for a place to eat. Unfortunately we missed their lunch hours and ended up having to order from the dinner menu. We were actually hoping to grab a gyros wrap but that was not part of the dinner menu. Our waitress was super friendly and provided great service. Their menu has a good variety of appetizers, salads and entrees. We ordered Chicken Souvlaki and Gyros plate. Both entrées came with rice pilaf and lemony potatoes and a Greek salad. The salad was fresh and delicious. The Gyros was very tasty and had a lot of flavor whereas the chicken was bland. Both the rice pilaf and potatoes were just Ok, again needed more flavor. The portions are huge! The restaurant has a nice ambiance and if you're in the mood for Greek food, give it a try. read more

On top of that, we were served a greek Salad and a Beet Salad. Those were BAD. You do not serve a greek salad, with two lonely cherry tomatoes, 2 olives, a ton of watery iceberg lettuce with no dressing sparkled with a some crumbled Feta. The beet salad tasted like what they served you in school, nothing impressive there whatsoever. In conclusion, this was a below average experience despite our excitement to finally be able to eat at a restaurant. We will not come back again unfortunately. we went for dinner Feb 1, 2024 as part of the Taste of Burlington. our waiter Barry recommended that we look at the menu before deciding if we prefer other options to the set menu as part of ToB. I am so glad he did! i had the chef's chicken special which is on offer ever night. It was delicious and enough food that I have a second dinner tomorrow ! Definitely portions are large. Barry was very helpful and attentive and as this was my first time visiting Mythos I know I will be back to try some of the other items on their menu. There is one offering which we were told is designed to enjoy with friends who have hours to sit back and sample almost every item on the menu. I think we would like to try that on our next visit. Don't believe the hype. Went here with a group of 3, and we each ordered the Cyprus Meze (basically a 5 course meal). I'll list the courses here: 1) pitas and dips -- all very strong tasting dips and fairly tasty, but also overwhelmingly sour 2) beet salad and regular green vegie salad -- both were quite vinegary/oily and again pretty sour 3) a pork shoulder / lentil mix that looked like dog food and didn't taste much better, and the other dishes (eggplant saganaki, lima beans, roast mushrooms) were underwhelming to say the least 4) halloumi cheese and sausage, but the sausage was oddly very dry and the cheese wasn't impressive 5) a massive platter of gyros, chicken and pork souvlaki, rice, and lemon potatoes By even the third course, we were all getting kind of full, so to see such a large amount of food at the end was kind of gross. My feedback to the restaurant would be to scale down both the price and portions, or at least set expectations of how much food you're going to get. Nobody eats that much food. I typically eat 3000 calories a day but this was even a disgusting amount of food by my standards. Also, pair together foods that go well together. Two large oily and sour salads served immediately after sour dips doesn't make any sense. The saving grace for me was the service. Our waitress was nice and gave us fresh plates after every course. This weekend I wanted cheese. I wasn't sure why I wanted cheese or how I wanted it but I knew I wanted cheese. So, when my sister mentioned Greek food, I couldn't get the idea of saganaki out of my mind. There was only one problem...we weren't sure where to get Greek food in the area. Thankfully Yelp was there to help and Mythos came up with a high rating for a restaurant with a significant amount of reviews. We decided to try it out. I'm the type of person who checks out photos of food and menus before I try a new restaurant and so in addition to the saganaki, I walked in wanting to try the halloumi and the dips. Then when we were seated, the table next to us had the gyros and it looked so good I wanted that too. Basically I wanted to try everything and thankfully the people I was with were accommodating and willing to share so we could try a lot. Everything was delicious. Filling and delicious. The only things that left me sort of unenthused were the starters (the salad and soup) and sides that came with the dishes (ratatouille being the exception though that was a substitution for an allergy). The soup and potatoes tasted very lemony so if you are into that you'd be happy - personally I preferred it for the soup than the potatoes but both were nice enough. I was ambivalent to them and the rice pilaf didn't seem overly flavourful but I genuinely think my indifference to the sides was because the gyros was so perfectly flavoured. Plus, an amazing texture. The souvlaki also had great flavour (no gamey flavour at all but still had a lamb flavour) and was some of the softest meat my brother-in-law and I have ever had. All the appetizers were great. Saganaki is always good but the halloumi cheese was like a fine and fresh alternative to bruschetta and the dips were seasoned just right, the Melitzanosalata in particular. The staff was also very nice. The chef found us a table on a Saturday night despite us not having a recommendation (recommendations are recommended though) and was really helpful in dealing with my brother-in-law's allergy. He knew what was in all his dishes and was able to work through the menu to find the perfect meal for him. Our waiter was also really great. Attentive but not overly so and very friendly. We loved it and will definitely be back again. We had a go-to Greek place where we used to live and this place is better so we are converted and now Mythos fans! read more

Was excited to try Mythos but the experience was a huge disappointment. Ordered octopus as a dinner and two calamari dinners. Calamari was overcooked, the breading tasted flat, the rice was tasteless and the potatoes were watery and overcooked. Octopus was mealy at best. The rice was undercooked in some places and slime in others. How does that even happen? This meal cost $100+ and we looked forward to it all week during quarantine. Honestly is inedible it's that bad. Salads were the only fresh things. But they really should mention it's COVERED in oregano. Gross. Don't waste your time. The decor is dressed up in pomp and ceremony but you won't find any taste here. read more

TIP: Go for the sandwiches/wraps OR lunch specials during the WEEKDAYS for better value! "Lunch Menu - Entree" on their website does not state anything about only being available during the weekday nor does it mention certain time restrictions. So keep that in mind. Food is delicious and fresh, no doubt! Entree prices vs. portions needs improvement. My bf ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Entrée and on the website it states $16, but on the weekend it's like $21. And do NOT expect Zet's serving portions. Please see photos. Having said that, everything tastes very fresh and homemade, like the tzatziki sauce had a hint of mint, salad dressing (def not from a bottle), and overall flavours were very good. Waitress could've been friendlier, but I was not too bothered. Probably the best Greek that I've had on the West-end. Definitely worth a try, especially if you don't mind paying! 3.5 stars! I finally had a chance to dine here a few weeks ago when I was in the area with some friends that I used to work with. First, the restaurant is pretty with light fixtures, clean modern look and several tables surrounding the bar area. We tried a few things off their menu: 3 orders of fried calamari, chef's dip (reminiscent of red pepper goat cheese), eggplant dip, pita bread, a friend ordered the spanokopita and another friend ordered the souvlaki chicken with Greek salad. The first thing that we noticed was that the food was more of a modern take on Greek food and we all enjoyed the different flavours of the food we tried. I particularly liked the minty and fresh tasting spin on the tzaziki sauce that came with the fried calamari. Portions were also fair for the prices. We all enjoyed our meals - something different but good! Our server was nice and the kitchen staff were great with getting our orders out in a timely manner. It may have helped that we dined here on a Wednesday around almost 4 p.m. so it was not busy at all. It is definitely busier during Friday evenings and on weekends since I've tried eating here before and had to go elsewhere since the place was packed. Upon a friend's recommendation, we had Sunday lunch here. We were definitely not disappointed. The decor is fairly plain and modern with comfortable table seating. Background music was muted, which is greatly appreciated. Our waiter, Robert, was fabulous - very friendly, chatty, helpful, and caring. He came around to check on us regularly. The menu is varied and the food is excellent. I had the entree Spanakopita which came with a Greek salad (my choice), rice pilaf and lemony potatoes. My wife ordered the Mousaka with lemon chicken rice soup. Both meals were very generous and we took some home. We ordered for 12 people for lunch and I asked for 12 chicken skewers, plus 4 extra rice, salad, 6 pitas and Ttzatziki sauce. I didn't ask for the price and it wasn't provided on the phone. My colleague went to pick up the order and tipped. The bill was $450 for lunch (we left a $50 tip as my colleague didn't know what the price should be)!!! They charged for 16 dinners - NOT LUNCH. There was food for 25 people.....insane. A complete rip off. I tried multiple times to contact the owner through multiple channels and NEVER received a call back or even an apology. Absolutely disgusted in the customer service. This is a restaurant where there's a stated policy you'll be charged $10 dollars surcharge for sharing plates. You're required to order 1 main entrée per person. In this occasion the 3 of us wanted to order 2 main entrée and 1 appetizer but were told there will be a surcharge unless we order a minimum of 3 main entrée. I hope Mythos reconsider their policy which is poorly received by us. We wanted to enjoy the octopus appetizer which isn't available as a main, we had to cancel it for another main otherwise we couldn't finish all the food. The difference in price between the appetizer we wanted and the our main entrée is only 4 dollars. Why not have a minimum spending requirement like other establishments, instead of entrée choice restriction? It's concerning when Mythos cares more about its bottom line instead of assuring that its guests can choose to enjoy what they love to eat most. read more

Mythos is a quaint little spot, tucked away in a small plaza, serving authentic and well-prepared Greek cuisine. The tasting menu is excellent, be sure to try several dips with fresh grilled pita (the spicy feta was insanely good, as was their spin on hummus). For entrees, the chicken dishes are excellent and their pastas are even better. The seafood offerings we found a bit lackluster (especially the sea bass). The wine list is nice, offering authentic Greek wines with a few new world style bottles mixed in. Service and atmosphere were both excellent. All in all, impressed with Mythos! read more

We visited for dinner on a Saturday evening and the atmosphere was just right. We didn't have a reservation but got lucky with a table. I recommend making a reservation to ensure you don't miss out. It comes with a choice of soup or salad as a starter so the cheese appetizer was not needed.
