Pita was fluffy & flavourful: warm, with some crispness. It was good enough to eat on its own. Potatoes were pretty good with an above average flavour which penetrated into the centre. Wow, it's my first time here but i must say the chicken souvlaki, gyros, Greek salad, spanokopita pita and potatoes were the best i ever had. They also have a great 0% alcohol Greek beer. The food was plentiful and was very fillling. I would've liked more of their greek salad and wish it came with our meals instead of served before the entrees. Think this is the best greek food at a restaurant i had in town and Toronto. Service was very good and our server was friendly however made an error on my meal. However, she quickly fixed the error without taking too much time. We lucked out and didn't need to have a reservation and dine in. The ambiance was very nice and peaceful for a fancier greek restaurant. So nice for a Valentine's Day meal. It was a very nicely designed and beautiful European style restaurant. HOWEVER, that was short-lived because in came a family of 5 (2 parents with 3 little girls probably triplets aged 3 were seated literally right beside us.) We were seated in the very back and had a nice private corner to ourselves. The father turned to us to say "Sorry it isn't going to be quiet anymore." He wasn't kidding because the kids were rambunctious, loud and out of control. The parents didn't do a thing. Neither did the restaurant staff and thus this really upset my dh and i. As a couple passing through on our way to Niagara Falls, we wanted a light bite, Food was delicious, restaurant was empty 2:30pm. Ordered the gyro dinner and a 3 dip platter to share. Serving was generous and sufficient for the price, brought the leftovers for later. A lil feedback, fix the fly issue. Having to swat three flies away continually during your meal while sitting inside is not how I wanted to grab a snack, this afternoon. Most importantly, sprinkle a wee bit more hospitality in to your service. I came here for a holiday lunch with a client, at their recommendation. I do love Greek food, so I was excited to check this place out. Walking in to the restaurant, it was MASSIVE and beautiful, almost felt like a banquet hall. There was ample seating inside and can accommodate huge groups. The menu has all the usual Greek fare that you would expect. We started with the Saganaki which was GREAT - but it doesn't come standard with a pita/bread. I thought that was strange? How are you supposed to eat it without a bread vessel? You'd have to order it on the side I suppose...my meal came with side pitas thankfully, so they were brought out early. I got the "small" pork souvlaki plate..if that was a small, I'm very curious about the large. I went there 2 days ago, and I'm still full! Haha, but really...I got 3 huge skewers of pork souvlaki, a healthy serving of rice, a couple potatoes, and a small Greek salad. I couldn't finish the meal, but I tried my best because it was very tasty and I didn't want anything to go to waste! Tip: Definitely order a 2nd (or 3rd) Tzatziki! December 18 dinner for 10 at 7pm. Overall the food tasted great with the exception of the rice which was not your typical Greek flavour so I only ate one spoonful. Others ate a little bit. We had 2 complaints; service was extremely slow and we had to ask other servers where Sonia our server was. We saw and heard her talking to other customers about some vacation abroad. When it came to desert we only wanted one cake for birthday lady but she wanted some extra forks so we could take a bite. Sonia brought 8 forks that were dirty with food from other customers. We brought this up to one of the other servers who promptly returned with clean forks asking who brought the dirty one when we told him. That was about sums it up. Very good food and poor service. No apology for the disgusting forks or the slow service. We will not return read more

We came here for an early dinner and actually walked in with some of the staff that were really nice! I noticed that on the door there was a sign that indicated they were closed on Monday nights during the summer. Sotiris is it's own restaurant and it's huge on the inside. It has a lot of pretty murals and features Greek architecture with lovely arches. It's a nice setting for a classy dinner. There weren't many other guests there at the time so they were very fast at taking our orders and the food came out super quick as well. The menu has all the Greek classics that you'd want like souvlaki and gyros. I was feeling vegetarian that day so I went with the spanakopita dinner. The dinner portions are pretty big. We ambitiously got the dip trio to start so that might have also explained why we didn't come close to finishing our mains which consist of an appetizer sized Greek salad, rice, and potatoes! My spanakopita seemed a bit on the toastier side but was still good with the tzatziki sauce. I had a bite of my friend's chicken souvlaki and was really pleased with how juicy it was. read more

Went here with friends on a Saturday and had a great time. Ordered the pork souvlaki and salad and it was outstanding. Service was really good and prices were reasonable. This is one big restaurant, with many tables inside and quite a few outside in their patio. A large bar inside as well. Highly recommended, especially for large groups. read more

Very good Greek food!! You really get your money's worth when you eat here. I ordered the Bouzouki platter for 1 and it was amazing. For you meat lovers out there, I highly recommend this dish - it comes with gyros, sausage, lamb chop, and pork souvlaki - a good variety and amount of everything. You also get potatoes and rice as sides (you can substitute the rice for something else). I found I was full by the time I finished about half of the dish - leftovers for the next day! We just wanted some take out and have it at home, we stopped by this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised, the restaurant was very clean and looked authentically Greek decorated inside and out. The employees were very friendly and professional. Even though we didn't call our order in, it was fast between order and the order being ready. When we got home, we were pleased on the amount of food in each order as well as the taste, it was one of the best Gyro Dinner we have ever had. Really bad experience from the over-crowded doorway with confused hostesses where we waited ~5 minutes to even tell them we had a reservation. To the first very wobbly table and then moved to a grossly sticky table that even the menus where difficult to lift off. Then to the lack of service after waiting 10 minutes and seeing other tables getting welcome and served. The whole place felt dirty and overcrowded with little understanding of what social distancing meant. We ended up leaving after never being served so I have no comment on the food and wouldn't go back to try it, nor would I recommend it.. read more

Food has been a bit underwhelming lately considering the price point as of late. Greek salads came without any olives and far too many onions and sandwiches were just ok. The fattoush salad from La Luna Express is way better for the cost and is loaded with veggies and even Montfort takes them easy in the salad dept. read more

The food here is cooked to perfection, family owned you can taste the love and soul in this dishes. The portions are big so if you get full fast think about size and maybe sharing a platter. I usually settle for the chicken souvlaki platter however the last time I was here I had the steak and shrimp, and that was a game changer. my steak I took Medium rare and it was juicy and melted in my mouth, the shrimp was a great surf to the turf cooked with just the right amount of seasoning. next up the overall place, the restaurant is huge, like venue size big, with beautiful decor making you feel like you are actually in Greece, almost kind of like a museum type building, i absolutely loved the architecture of the place. Our lunch gang has been going to this place for lunch for years. Because we have been going so long and for the most part we usually get the same thing I can say that I've seen a difference in what we used to get and what we get now. The difference is basically just quantity but the quality has pretty much stayed consistent. Whether it's been 3 to 6 of us going at once they always have space to accommodate. This place has a very large dining area and a banquet hall type room on the left when you first come in. Once we had a company lunch here with about 25 people. Space is never really an issue here. At times that we've experienced over time, sometimes there is confusion as to who is taking care of our table as we've had to flag down somebody after being seated but overall for the most part I can say that the service is just fine. No complaints really about the service being slow or otherwise. Going to this place for lunch they have to serve quick and we have to be out of there after eating and paying and back to work within the hour. I can't say we've ever really been late coming out of Sotiris except maybe once over a span of a decade. The lunch menu offers smaller portions for less than the regular menu although you can still order off the regular menu at lunch if you really wanted to. My usual has always been the "small" gyro dinner which is the lunch sized portion. Originally this serving was anything but small... only once have I ever ordered the regular sized version of this and it was really a lot of food. I'm the kind of person that can eat a lot... definitely more than the average Canadian I'm guessing and yes this meal portion wise is very satisfying. They start you off with a basket of garlic bread which is the kind they probably butter and grill because it's nice and buttery and nicely toasted. Regardless of how they make it, it's good. With the lunch order you also get a side of greek salad that comes before the main dish. This is a decent starter... some prefer it to come with the meal but I like getting it first. The gyro plate comes with a small side of tzatziki, rice, potatoes and the gyro which is really good. I've had souvlaki and other things here in my time but really I like the gyro at this restaurant enough to make it my regular. The price for this lunch is 13 bucks plus tax and tip. Overall it's a nice sit down place that we go to every once in a while. The portions are still a decent size although I feel they have gotten smaller than what we used to get years ago and the service is good. Honestly I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews of this place considering myself and my gang never repeat places that have bad service, make us late or have bad food. My family and I went to Sotiris last friday night for an early dinner. We ordered 2 of their platters for 2, which happen to be a great deal! I really enjoyed their gyro meat and sausage while my family liked the rice and lamb. Plus it comes with garlic bread and salad. We stuffed ourselves and still had leftovers for the next day. The service though really leaves something to be desired. Very perfunctory and borderline rude. Not worth the drive for such service. read more

This was the first time I've ever been to this restaurant and also heard about it. Me being the only one from Cambridge, it was quite a drive up there, but let's see if it was worth it!! We came to this restaurant for a work party full of hungry contractors and let me tell you, we were not disappointed. I ordered the gyro which came with 3 sides. Rice, potatoes, and salad of your choice which you receive before your main dish (I got the large btw which is only $3 more than the small). Seems like a reasonable bargain to me. But hey, it was a work dinner which was paid for by the boss anyways. There was about 12 people attending this work dinner including myself and the place was absolutely packed. Cons: The waiter was very friendly but kind of slow with refilling beverages. I mean yes I do understand it was a busy night and there were a lot of orders to fulfil but I feel like I could have been a bit faster. And believe it or not another con that shouldn't be a con but is the portions were to big in my opinion. I went in starving and I could not even finish my meal. I would take it to go but food is never better the next day, unless it's pizza. My friends Marcel and Patrick had their daughter Arya's Baptism Reception at this restaurant. Nice, fancy, elegant atmosphere and I was ready to dig in on some Greek food. Our server was awesome. She gave the whole reception a breakdown of the full course menu. When she came around our table, she was engaging, had a sense of humour, really listened to your order and made us comfortable by ensuring she understood our food allergies. For appetizers, there was a pan grilled garlic bread, pita with hummus and greek salad. The garlic bread and hummus were SO good. It was tremendously garlicy and I could not get enough. The salad was okay, a bit on the sour side but I trucked through it even though I did not finish it. When my main entrée came, it was Chicken Souvlaki with roasted potatos and rice. The Chicken Souvlaki was really good. Excellent flavour, tender, juicy and tasty. It came in little cubes from a skewer and it was not dry which I was impressed with. Dipping it into the tzatziki was delicious. I loved every bite. The potatoes and rice were normal and they complemented the chicken. I was honoured and happy I attended the celebration. I do not know if I ever come back here because I live across the city but it was an excellent experience and proud to give it 4 outta 5! read more

I've ordered here for take out twice and went here for a sit-in dining experience with my workplace for a holiday party/get together. The food is pretty decent, however the service is lacking unfortunately. My consensus is pretty much the same as other yelp reviews - food is good, not great. Service is okay, venue is clean, warm and great for group gatherings. On service: The servers were friendly however we were seated for 30 minutes before we were able able to order, which really puzzled me because at dinner time on a weeknight the restaurant was not crowded at all. We had to ask different waiters to find our waiter for us. When we asked for refills on water, we had to remind the waiter. I'm not sure if this is because the place is understaffed or if the waiters are not circulating frequently enough and checking in on us. Once the order was put in however, the food came in a good, timely manner. When coming here you may have to expect a wait. On food: Appetizers - The appetizers were actually MORE delicious than the entrees. You MUST order the Saganaki OPA or Flaming kefalotyri cheese -its definitely a neat experience. The cheese if flavorful but share this with a large group as its also very salty. The garlic bread - delicious and given in good quantities, and calamari was yummy too. Entrees - were VERY generous and large in size, unless you eat a lot you will be taking some home. I ordered the small pork souvlaki dinner and I couldn't finish it in one sitting (came with three skewers). In terms of flavour and taste this is pretty good and better than your usual take out places (e.g. Jimmy the greek) but isn't the best, most flavourful I had. Seasonings on their souvlaki's were good, and its a very heavy meal but not greasy tasting at all. Overall a good experience, I would go again. read more

I had lunch there yesterday with some co-workers and clients. There were seven of us. I ordered the basic chicken fillet ($12.00), rice and potatoes. Most of the others ordered souvlaki. When their meals came, they were HUGE. HUGE! Great value for the $$. When mine came about ten minutes later (long after the others), the chicken breast, though hot and tasty, was very small. Kinda of a letdown considering the size of the others. The potatoes were good but the rice (pilaf) had a weird taste (I left most of it). The restaurant is HUGE ... there were maybe ten tables of people when we were there. Service was so-so. I had to ask for a second Diet Coke a couple of times. I'd go back if I was in the area but would avoid the rice and would order souvlaki instead. read more

Ordered well in advance, paid in advance, picked up my order on time, get home where guests had already arrived only to find out they didn't give me part of my meat order. I didn't have time to go back so needless to say my guests didn't get enough meat. However, the restaurant gave me enough pita and dip to serve 10 times the amount of people I actually purchased for. Thank god I made grilled veggies and salad to supplement my dinner. The next day I sent an email to the restaurant letting them know they charged me for meat that they did not provide, I gave them a month and a half to respond and to this day I have not heard a thing. As far as I am concerned they stole my money. I paid over $400 for catering and they couldn't even offer a credit or a gift card to make up for taking money for product they didn't supply. I had my wedding reception at their restaurant so I expected to be treated the way I had been then. Nope! I really wanted to love this restaurant. It's conveniently located close to my work, so I thought I would give it a try. The woman who took my order over the phone sounded like it was a chore. I put it off to her just being busy. The lack of service continued when I went to pick up my lunch. The sever who took my payment was down right miserable - horrible first impression. I felt like I was talking to myself. Zero response, zero eye contact, zero interest in being friendly at all. The food wasn't much better. I ordered a Greek salad topped with chicken. The salad dressing didn't have a lot of flavour and my chicken was dry. Everything is extra at this restaurant! Tzatziki sauce is an extra $0.75. I asked for pita bread, that was extra too. My order came to $18.00. Honestly, I have had a better Greek salads with chicken at Soulvaki Hut, it comes with pita and it costs significantly less. Driven by Sotiris hundreds of times, never thought of eating there. Till last night, ordered take out. Ordered two large Gyro meals and one grilled chicken breast with rice (substituted for the listed fries) from the Kids menu. The menu described the gyro as: "Delicious spiced beef and lamb, thinly sliced and piled high". And it was. A great big pile of delicious food. Tzatziki was really good. The salad was a little underwhelming, but fresh. Sotiris were headed for FOUR STARS until.....When we unpacked the dinner, one serving of garlic bread was missing. But here's where they lost 2 stars - The children's chicken breast was pink inside. For safety, we microwaved it to avoid any possible contamination from raw chicken. Never again! I came to Sotiris with a group of friends on a weekday afternoon. I was pretty impressed when I walked in as the restaurant resembled a gigantic elegant Greek outdoor banquet courtyard with whitewashed walls brought indoors. They had beautiful tall glass windows allowing the sun to pour in and the walls were decorated with breathtaking Greek murals. The bouzouki music playing in the background also added to the delight. Our groups was seated quickly by a frantic waitress with a serious attitude who brought us large glasses of ice water, plopped it on the table with the menu's and pranced away. The menu was pretty large with a great variety- Greek appetizers, chicken, seafood, soups & salad, platters, combo dinners, souvlaki, steaks, chops, ribs, vegetarian dishes and a ton more. When our orders were taken, the waitress looked angry for no apparent reason which made the atmosphere a bit uncomfortable. When it was my turn to order, I asked for the scallop dinner. The waitress looked at me and said "Oh, you won't be able to fit that in your body, the dish is way too big". My jaw almost dropped. "Try the atlantic salmon filet" she continued. I tried to tell her I wanted the scallop dinner, but she almost argued with me. I went with the salmon filet (stupid me). I was tired and starving and at the point would've eaten a horse if she offered it to me. Our trio dip appetizer of tzatziki, taramousalata & melitzanosalata ($9.99) was okay. The bread that came with it was too toasted and had a ton of salt on it that it was hard to eat. I tasted their Greek platter for one as well ($21.99) the platter was huge and consisted of moussaka, 1 souvlaki stick, 2 lamb chops and gyros. It also came with Greek salad, roast potatoes, garlic bread and more tzatziki. The meat was cooked well but the quality was bad, greasy, and once again, it was way too salty. My atlantic salmon ($20.99) was a skinny little filet dusted with paprika and tons of salt! The pilaf it came with was cooked well but salty too. By the end of meal the entire group was having dehydration attack from the insane amount of salt. We constantly asked our water glasses to be refilled. The waitress was being irritated by this and showed it. Some of us even had dead fruit flies at the bottom of our water glasses- gross! The mean attitude of the waitress was worsening during the dining experience so no one brought the fruit fly matter up in case the waitress killed us. Overall, Sotiris is a beautiful looking restaurant with scary service, large portioned low quality food and I'm never coming back here again. read more

The best greek food outside the Danforth! Every time I come here it's a guarantee you will have good food good service and bring left overs home. The portions are big and you can't finish it! In the past I've tried the Chicken, Beef and pork souvlaki and they all taste good, decide what you feel like and pick one. It does get busy Friday night and on the weekend so make a reservation, that's if you don't mind waiting! They have a private room on the left once you come in the front doors.
