For instance, i bit off half of the cabbage only to find soup dripping down my mouth from the remaining half. The prices of the soup were on par with other Korean restaurants in the area but i found bbong to be more mediocre than it's competitors.

I recently saw a few foodies post about this spot so I assume they're going to get pretty busy soon. I will try and get a group of friends next time so we can try more things. Also we were skeptical about melted cheese with kimchi and corn at the bottom, but trust me, they go!! Either just scoop all in a spoonful or wrap in the lettuce with Korean ssamjang, they taste delicious! The porkbelly didn't taste greasy because the sous vide already rendered most of the fat out but keep it juicy, and the BBQ charred gave depth to them, it's a double deliciousness! I recommend to try this porkbelly dish if you are adventurous, however, they do have a regular version of porkbelly on the menu as well, in case you are craving a more traditional dish. The tteok bokki was very yummy too, the rice cake was chewy enough but not mushy, and the sauce was just right, sweet mostly with a kick of spiciness, not the firey kind of spicy, so every bite was tasty and keep me wanting more. This dish seem simple but to make sure the rice cakes are not over cooked while soaking to the sauce is not an easy task, and here they achieve it well. Every rice cakes are fully absorbed with good amount of sauce that very well balanced ratio of the rice cakes and the sauce. Definitely will come back for more! The restaurant itself is rather small but have enough to have tables moved to have bigger parties. We opted for medium spice (which was extremely mild). - Banchan - glazed potatoes (standard), kimchi (good kick) and bean sprouts (refreshing). - Seafood pancake ($25.99 large) - decent. - Chicken wings ($10.99) and boneless chicken balls ($11.99 for 7) - wings were standard, balls didn't have much of a crispy bite. - Pork bone hotpot ($37.99 small) - came with two bowls of rice. Reasonable amount of pork with a few potatoes, jalapeños and green onions. Broth was light and lacked depth. - Galbi beef short-rib hot plate ($29.99) - came with a salad. Short ribs were tender and juicy. - Bulgogi stir fried udon ($16.99) - the udon didn't have much texture, sauce wasn't satisfying.
