Hooray Korean hot dog shops. Myungrang is a spot that is small in size but big on flavor and provides excellent customer service. The employee who took my order was polite and answered all of my questions. I ordered two dogs. One was the hot Cheeto dog half cheese half hot dog. It is covered in hot Cheetos and fried to perfection. As I hadn't had a Korean hot dog in months I forgot how big they are. One is very filling I also tried the potato dog half cheese half hot dog monster style. This means it's covered in melted nacho cheese and jalapeños. It was also good but almost too much. One thing I hadn't known about is sugar rolled. I'll have to try that again on my next visit. They offer a squid ink option and some other variations. Yes Myungrang has finally made its way to Colorado! I first had these great street snacks in Korea and Japan, then in California. Everytime my gf and I are in Orange County, CA we make our way to the Garden Grove location for these delicious and cheesy dogs. When we found out that they were making their way here, we immediately were excited! Within the first couple days of opening we hit them up and it did not disappoint. Many places opened up a long Havana Street before they came along, but they didn't do it right. No sugar coating and the batter was not correct. One place was confused when we asked for sugar since that was what I used to when I had it at other places outside of Colorado. Actually one store started offering sugar coated dogs since we kept ordering them with it. The squid ink is probably my favorite dog from their menu, followed by the hot Cheetos and regular potato hot dog. A nice cheesy pull, salty potato and a sugar coating? A savory and sweet combination and when paired with their mustard and cheese sauce... delightful! This place is tiny and was kind of hard to find from the side we came from (Yale). The inside itself is also pretty tiny but the workers were nice and greeted us immediately when we came in. They fry the hot dogs to order so it's a bit of a wait but worth it! We took ours to go since there were a handful of others in there and not much seating. They even offered sauces for to go! We got the original hot dog with mozzarella, the potato with half mozzarella/half hot dog, and a sweet potato one with hot dog only. The prices vary from $5-10 from what I remember and depends on what you order as well. This is the first place I've seen that offers sweet potato which was pretty cool! I personally like both the regular and sweet potato ones. They also offer a squid ink one too which I haven't seen or tried yet but maybe one day! I was little skeptical about trying this place. Of course, this fad had come and gone in Korea and last experience was at Ala Moana food court in Hawaii. I was not so impressed about the overall experience at that time. 2nd time I visited at the Ala Moana location, they have even dropped the name MyungRang. Passed by here last Friday evening and I could see few people inside and reminded myself to try this one. Decided to stop by with friends today (Sunday) at 2 pm. Plenty of parking but the inside was packed and standing room only. Actually they only have one table for four and few bar chairs. This was perfectly fine. We don't need to sit down to eat hot dogs anyway. It took little bit of time to get our food since it is all made fresh. We got to try mozzarella, combo and also with sweet potatoes. The best of one out of them were rice cake hot dog #15. It was soft and chewy and sweet. Overall, it was served hot, cheesy, crunch and delicious, and full filling. One was enough. When you first arrive, you may miss it because it's located in a small plaza and parking lot is small. However, the cheese dogs were delicious. I've ordered Korean hotdogs around the area before and when I come home, they're cold and the cheese has hardened. But the cheese dogs from Myungrang stay hot and the cheese is still pullable after a 15 min drive. If you're driving from Denver, you can choose to eat in your car or heat it up when you're home. We ordered the monster, mozzarella, and rice cake. The monster has jalapeño's but it's not spicy. It's there for the faint hot flavor but very delicious. The rice cake is like a churro but probably my favorite of the three. If you're ordering the rice cake with sugar, eat it last as dessert. read more

I was super excited to try this establishment! Never had a Korean hotdog before and so we went and tried 3 to share: regular, monster half and half and potato dog half and half. One thing that was different from most pictures on yelp, they don't drizzle sauce on the hot dogs anymore. Don't know why that aspect of service has changed, but it seems really like a big loss because they needed more sauce. They gave us two small cups of sauce and despite one being pale creamy yellow and one being orange, they both just basically tasted like sweet goo. The dogs themselves were ok. The coating was crispy. They were just so so bland. Even with the sweet sauces, one which was supposed to be chili sauce, they just tasted incredibly bland. The potato one was not really an improvement and I love potatoes. Over all, I would not visit again as they only have one thing on the menu and I tried most versions of it and found it lacking. We stopped eating our dogs and got another snack else where because we were still hungry but these just weren't pleasant enough to finish. read more

Wow, I was amazed at how good it was!! I have been hoping to find a good place to grab Korean Hotdog here in Colorado as it has always been my go to snack back in California, I think I might have found it! The Korean Hotdog was the perfect crispiness and of course, it had an amazing cheese pull when you first bite into it. I highly recommend coming here for a quick snack (or like us, who ended up getting quite a few for dinner!) Prices are reasonable, service was great! This place is pretty tiny, but I feel like most Korean Hotdog places are. There's only one table with sauces on it, but it's a little awkward in terms of placement. Only about 4 people can fit at the table, and if any other customers want to put the extra sauces on their hotdogs, it would be...awkward. Regardless, the staff and service were super kind and great. Due to it being so small, would be nice to make the intercom audible outside as well or have some sort of buzzer/virtual notification system so not everyone has to be packed inside. I got the rice cake hotdog and the half mozz half sausage hotdog! Both were good, I just wish the breading was a bit more thicker and more crunchy. Definitely like this place better than mochinut, giving it 4 stars because I feel like it deserves at least deserves one more than mochinut. I don't know how else to explain my love and devotion to Myungrang... As someone who was skeptical of the Korean corndog at first, this place was converted me. The owner is always there to greet us, and he's so kind and patient! Honestly part of the experience is seeing him greet us! The inside of the store is a tad small, but the corn dog's eating timeline is perfect for a quick sit. I am a huge half and half fan, and I always get the #1 while my dad loves the squid one. Also, my dad knows that if I have a rough day, this is the place to take me to cheer me up. Now for the taste of the corndog, I can't get over the perfection of textures. Starting with the perfectly crisp rice batter of the dog, you start with a crunch. It's no wonder there are so many mukbangs of Korean corn dogs! Because I usually get the half and half, I get to enjoy the mozzarella end first. It's perfectly strongly and the integrity holds up even after my 15 minute drive home. Really good Korean hot dog made fresh to order!! I've been loving this craze with Korean food lately and this place is pretty great. This is definitely a much more elevated " corn" dog (it's not actually made out of cornmeal). This hot dog is covered in mochi flour I believe and they deep fry it. This allows for a nice chewy texture and along with the cheese and hot dog inside, it's just a nice texture experience. Also it might seem odd but they coat these hot dogs in sugar and that makes it even better!! Great spot if your looking to get your Korean Corn Dog fix! They have a good selection of different corn dogs and a few really good sauces to choose from. I ordered the potato corn dog with the sausage, it was fried perfectly and tasted delicious! The space inside is very limited, with one dining table and side/wall bar stool with few chairs. We, however, just ate eating at the one side of the dining table as another couple was sitting on the other side waiting for their order.. lol First things first, the staff here are all very friendly. They will take their time and explain any questions you might have. They have variety of things on their menu, but really it's a variation of hot dog or half mozzarella cheese half dog, in different batter type. We ended up getting potato covered half & half, squid ink half & half and regular half and half coated in sugar. Hotdogs here have a crispy, yet chewy texture. Similar to a mochi batter? The cheese pull is great, I was almost embarrassed to eat this in front of all these people waiting to get their orders as I was struggling with the amount of cheese it has. To be honest, I couldn't find any difference in taste between the regular and the squid ink, other than their appearance. Either way, they were all very tasty. You can also choose variety of their sauces for your hot dogs. We went with ketchup, sweet chili and cheese mustard. We also got one to go for my mom, and it was still crispy about 20 min later. Cute addition to the Denver scene! I've seen Korean hotdogs all over Instagram but never had one, so was so happy to get my grubby hands on one. This place is small, very much a take out place. There is some seating but it is very minimal. Definitely not the place to go if you're on a diet, but if you're feeling decadent, this is a good choice. It's very filling and rich. This owner obviously cares about the quality of his food, and customers he serves. Although the wait was long for the type of food, it was worth it, and I'll tell you why. First, this is a small business that looks like it's owned and run by one man. Given that, you have to understand that it takes a minute to handle the multiple customers that seem to love this place! Even though there was a line and it was obvious we would be waiting, the wait wasn't terribly long (~15min). After the person got caught up and started getting orders out, he even offered compensation to those that were waiting so long, which was absolutely not necessary, but appreciated and showed he cared about our business. The guy that was taking a preparing orders definitely had his shit together! He had a specific method of ensuring every order went out perfectly, and if he noticed it wasn't, in the trash it would go, and he would make a new dog, instead of serving something substandard. Watching him work was actually part of our experience because he was quick, and it was like watching a machine. The food was definitely good. There are lot's of unique choices for your dog, including no dog choices! Prices are a little steep for a dog on a stick, but I get it, he's a one man show. You have a couple of options -- cheese (mozzarella), half and half (half beef half cheese), the corndog itself which is actually fried in a much lighter... sweeter almost, rice batter maybe? I think it mentions being rice flour... but you really can't go wrong. Have been here TWICE now, and I plan to be back as much as I can. I wish they'd maybe see about moving into a slightly larger space, if we can get them enough business just because it IS a bit cramped inside... but I think in S. Korea this would likely be street food, so you'd take and go... and I guess *I* should be mindful of that... and not try to make it an "American" thing... but I wish there were just a few more seats -- otherwise, nothing AT ALL to say about any of the options here.
